I'll begin by saying that restaurant seemed clean, the staff was great, but quite disappointed in the food. My friend and I had other plans for lunch but Jacobo's turned out being our choice. I really felt like Mexican, she felt like Breakfast. I ordered Carne Asada , she ordered Pancakes, sausage and eggs, simple right... I will comment that we waited awhile for our food to arrive. Mine came on a large platter, nicely dressed with sour cream, guacamole, jalapeño peppers onions. Actually very nice, the meat was tender and tasty. Mine also came with eggs and potatoes. My complaint begins here, I ordered the eggs over medium and they came Over easy, the Potatoes needed more cook on them and I didn't care for the way they were seasoned. I'm not one to send back food, so I ate the eggs and left most of the potatoes. Oh, tortillas came with, either corn or flour. I chose flour and I will say it was a good soft flour tortilla. My friend always orders something simple and generally anything that can be made at home. As I mentioned she ordered pancakes, sausage and eggs. Again she ordered Over Medium and they were more Over Easy, the sausage links looked disgusting, small shriveled and overly browned. She complained about the pancakes as well ( I tasted them and they tasted fine to me ). So overall, not a great meal. I have a favorite option for breakfast in Sparks and will undoubtedly go back there. As I mentioned the staff were nice and friendly, no complaints there. I'm sad that we weren't happy with the food here, we both had high hopes. Unfortunately I didn't take my phone to photograph anything. Tried the Crab Cake Benedict, French Toast, and Joe's Scrambles. Generous portions which make the prices reasonable. Crab Cake Benedict has the traditional hollandaise sauce. Sauce had slight lemony flavor. Crab cake was pretty thick. Giving it 3 of 5 stars. Joe's Scrambles did not skimp on ingredients. Scrambled eggs with ground beef, mushroom, bell peppers, onions and cheese. 4/5 stars. Came with your choice of potatoes, choice of toast and a wedge of cantaloupe. The French Toast came with eggs, bacon, and country sausage for additional $3. French Toast was standard but the country sausage was special. Two sausage patties that look like small hamburger patties; soo good. Best sausage I've had; combo of slight sweetness, saltiness and peppery. French toast was 3/5 but the Sausage patties were great; 5/5. Looked like they made them in house. Country potatoes side was good too. Good portion and we'll seasoned. We showed up around 10:00am and got a table right away. By the time it's 11:00am, there's a line. Staff were very nice and quick. read more

Lots of breakfast options and lunch options. I got the vegetarian omelet with potatoes and sourdough toast. It was good, not much flavor. Loaded it up with hot sauce and pepper. The service was good. Interesting decor Summer Christmas vibe. My grandson got the chicken and waffles and he wasn't too impressed as my husband got the chorizo quesadilla. Everything was okay, not very flavorful, bland tasting. The water had a funny taste, like perhaps tap water and not filtered. This place was an unexpected, pleasant surprise! I had no idea it existed. I came here Friday for a late breakfast. The atmosphere is welcoming and festive. Lots of menu options and different genres of food. We started with 3 of their blackberry scones (reminded me of beignets). They weren't overly sweet and were perfect to share. I opted for the chilaquiles with green sauce and added the ranchera. Absolutely phenomenal! And a huge portion I barely put a dent in mine. It was packed for a Sunday morning. The wait to be seated was about 20 minutes, there were five groups ahead so it moved decently fast. The food was delicious. I had a skillet, with hasbrowns and an iced mocha. The iced mocha was huge, definitely worth it and it tasted delicious. The serving size for the skillet was ginormous for me. I took home left overs. I met a friend for breakfast this morning. Had a wonderful meal he got the Joe's special, and I selected the Cajun Benedict! WOW. The Cajun sausage made the dish. If you like really flavorful with a light spice kick, you should try this dish. I love the size of the coffee mugs...makes you feel like you are at home. We found this restaurant since the other place we wanted to go to was closed. I have never heard of them, but they have really good reviews so we checked them out. After parking, there were two doors/exits. We came in from the side and had to walk around to the front. There were a lot of people so we got on the waitlist. There is plenty of space inside to sit and wait. It's a lot larger on the inside than I expected with many tables so the wait was not too long. Once we were seated, we got our drink orders in and the server came to greet us. They had a lot on the menu so it took a bit to look through everything. I got the pancake combo and it was good. They gave me scrambled eggs instead of over medium eggs, and the server was quick to get the kitchen to make the correct eggs. I would love to try other items on the menu because it all looks really good. The atmosphere was decorated for Christmas, and there was a mural on the wall. It felt very cozy like you're being welcomed into someone's home for a meal. It does get very loud since they have so many tables and it is all one large open space. To pay, we go up to the counter. Was back in town for the holidays and visited Jack's Coffee House in Sparks. Not too far from downtown and has a variety of options for any pallet, great portions with reasonable prices. No problem getting seated on a Wednesday morning. Our server quickly brought our drinks, offered us the specials and some clarifications on a few dishes. Coffee was fresh as well as the OJ. All meals were served very hot and prepared with love. Everything was great. Our server checked up on us frequently but allowed us space to talk and enjoy our meal. After passing by this establishment numerous times we've finally tried it out on a Sunday morning. I got the Chilaquiles with a Carne Asada on top. Chilaquiles were decent and so were rhe refried beans . My daughter had the crêpes and thought they were good . Pancakes were a little on the dry side Overall, the food was decent and service was ok. This place, despite what some people say, is one of the most amazingly well ran restaurant in the Reno Sparks area. Every time we go. The wait staff is super duper friendly. Always very helpful with dietary changes I need and also insanely quick to get the food to your table. It has always come out hot and fresh even when I go with a large group of 10+ people. My go to meal is the vegetarian omelet. So satisfying yet no meat needed. My wife gets something a little different every time. And my coworkers LOVE all of the variety they have. In fact they love this place so much we almost exclusively go here when we have some sort of company breakfast. Lots of parking outside. They get REAL busy on the weekends but like I said before....amazingly keep up with the demand in a very impressive way. read more

Maybe I'm disappointed because people told me how great Jacks was? I had high expectations? I ordered a side of mashed potatoes with country gravy plus extra gravy and I told her "the potatoes are just an excuse to eat lots of gravy". They were delivered with brown gravy and not much of it so I reminded her I wanted country gravy and LOTS of it. She brought back potatoes with the gravy in a soup cup on the side which was GREAT but it took quite a while to get it back to me. Then she'd forgotten my Cole Slaw and that took a while. She didn't bring my husband's toast till she REdelivered my potatoes and gravy so he waited to start eating till he got his toast. Then it was only one piece of toast. He asked how much for another piece and she thought it was $4 for a side order of toast. Hmmmmm? She was very pleasant. Maybe she is just new at waitressing? I try to give some slack on delayed service. Maybe the kitchen is slow delivering to her? My husband said his bacon and cheese omelet was ok but not great. My Cole Slaw looked delicious. It was fresh and crispy and homemade looking but it had almost no flavor. I added some orange marmalade to the last half of it and it was better. The country gravy was fine. The potatoes were ok. They do not have WiFi which bothered my husband. Basically the food was ok. Maybe my expectations were just too high? There was nothing great about the ambiance...table edges were old and worn. We haven't been to this location at Prater and Mccarran since it was a Sizzler steakhouse! Now it's a Jack's Coffee shop- it's HUGE inside, lots of space, especially with that salad bar station removed. Jack's has coffee shop hours, open daily, 7 am to 2 pm. We came in on April 16th 2025 for a late lunch. Veronica was our server, and she was SO nice, so friendly and fast. BTW, EVERY team member here is VERY friendly, and very helpful. We ordered a Chicken Chipotle Wrap in a spinach Tortilla, and a Grilled Chicken Taco Salad, which was SO delicious but we just couldn't finish either one, there was so much food there! Leftovers were packed in to go containers, to be enjoyed later. We will certainly be back to enjoy other items on their large menu. read more

Jacobo's is now one of my go to spots every time I'm in the area. First when we walked in it was a bit busy but it is very understandable because the waiter we got was very fun and was making jokes with us. The food was amazing the chilaquiles where the bomb same with the breakfast burrito. So filling and blasting with flavor, and the house sampler is my favorite especially those jalapeño poppers they put something in those, I could probably eat 100. The scenery was a cafe style with some hints of a Mexican restaurant I love how they show their house favorites on the screens definitely if you are looking for good food come here 10/10. read more

There are 2 Jack's in the area, this is the OG and one of the best places in town to get breakfast. Been taking my family here since the early aughts. One thing that frustrates me when I go out to breakfast is every breakfast combo, skillet, burrito, etc has eggs. This isn't a problem if I can't substitute but a number of places don't so I am often paying for food I do not eat. Jacks has a breakfast plate where eggs aren't even an option, just meat, potatoes veggies and cheese and it's literally the only menu in this town that has an option like that. The place has a greasy spoon Diner feel but the service is quick and friendly, finding parking on the weekend is the only real challenge. read more

I've been here a few times when it was Jack's. Always decent food however I would always order the same thing. Today I ordered a lunch special named California chicken. Came with soup, mashed potatoes and two pieces of chicken. The chicken was seasoned well and tasted great however the cheese on top was a slice of Kraft singles. Food came and 5 minutes later I got my soup. Very disappointing. Asked for a to-go cup for my soup then went to pay. They couldn't find a pen and asked me to sign with a crayon. I dont like paying for bacon when I don't eat pig. They have breakfast choices without meat. My Soapbox: Charge a customer for meat they wont eat is wasteful and stealing if you look at it. The food is always awesome. The scones aren't what you might think of when you hear scone, but they are phenomenal, I never want to eat scones anywhere else. Service is consistently good, the staff is friendly and welcoming. A little loud in there, but I have a kid and I like a place that doesn't make you feel bad for bringing a kid in. I was visiting family and found this place to grab some breakfast. I arrived and placed an order for 6 breakfast plates for takeout. The food was ready in less than 30 minutes. The waitresses were friendly and quick in their service. If I'm ever in town again I would love to return and dine in. My family visited this establishment on a Saturday Morning for breakfast. Parking is no problem here there is plenty. It was a quick process to be seated, but once seated it was quite some time to be served. Once we ordered it also took some time to receive or food about 45 min. The food was not very hot just your basic eggs country potatoes and toast. I did have biscuits and gravy which was warm, but the gravy was very bland with no flavor. It was pretty loud and there was a lot of clanking plates. I did not enjoy the stations they had around the restaurant where the servers would scrape plates into a garbage can then throw the plates into the bins. This is a newer breakfast spot on sparks. I have been to one similar restaurant in Reno. I believe this is a chain restaurant here. I enjoyed this location a lot more. This building used to be Sizzlers. But it closed down. Jack's coffee house is a great addition to the community. There is plenty of parking onsite. They can accommodate bigger crowds. It's a very family friendly breakfast spot too. I definitely recommend checking this place out. The pancakes are better than IHOP. Their customer service was great! read more

Dined in for the first time at this location this past weekend with a friend. We both ordered three scones each to start. Who am I kidding? That's one of the best things about Jacks. Iykyk My friend ordered their all meat skillet and I ordered the "Lo que sea". My Chile relleno was delicious, and my salsa was fresh and had great flavor. My steak was overcooked, and fat was untrimmed. I think next time, I'll order the Chile relleno. Lo que sea hit the spot, and coffee was strong per usual. This Jack's was formally Sizzler; they just removed the bar. There's plenty of seating here for small or large parties. The restaurant was packed, and our server was attentive enough. Our bus girl was awesome! She kept our drinks full, and our creamer stocked. I feel terrible that I didn't catch her name, but I'll be sure to on my next visit. read more

I was visiting my daughter and the grandkids. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We immediately noticed the green leprechauns adorning the Christmas tree. The place is quite spacious and welcoming. Awesome idea. I love all of the holidays. Vi was our waitress. She was very personable and friendly. The kids ordered crepes. My daughter had the poblano omelette and I had the country breakfast. The kids loved their crepes (banana and mixed fruit). My daughter very much enjoyed hers, and I left more than satisfied. I had two eggs over medium, country potatoes the onions and green peppers, two sausage patties and two biscuits and gravy. Huge portions all around. My biscuits were perfect. My daughter even commented on them ("they look fluffy"). My words exactly. My grandson almost finished his entire plate of crepe with mixed fruit, I believe it was, and that boy can eat. I almost finished mine, but did not want to feel uncomfortably full. Shout out to Vi for the great service and making us feel welcome. Makes me wish I wasn't visiting.
