I thought this place was great. I have been to the padre in a suite and to the bar but this was the first time trying the restaurant. The service was excellent. The staff was appropriately masked and attentive. I didn't drive but there was parking that was easy to find and close. It was a sample menu night and everything on it I liked. A friend came to visit us and wanted to try the restaurant at the padre as he had heard good things. My wife has been here before but only in the bar area and this was my first time. The bar was packed but the restaurant itself was pretty empty. (Side note, the floor is carpeted. I am not a fan of carpet in restaurants. I feel like it can't possibly be as clean as tile but any-who) Can't really say much about the wine or drinks menu since I am usually the driver and a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. There are 2 menus, one is for the steaks and one contains information on their other dishes that varied from duck, chicken, lamb, etc. Our friend got the steak, my wife got the lamb shank and I played it safe with the chicken. Chicken was excellent. It is wrapped in bacon and placed over a bed of roasted potatoes. My wife loved her shank. It came with lentils and carrots and was so tender you didn't even need a knife. (I wasn't a fan of it. Not really a lamb guy) My friend loved his steak too. Service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. For all 3 meals it was 100$ before tip. The food was pretty good and it was a nice place to come to , have a nice dinner and chat. It wasn't the best I have ever had and it's a little pricey. Got to share a private and intimate dinner with some deer friends and their husbands at this magnificent restaurant. This was final meal of a get together of the kids of 1970 from North High School. We capped off a wonderful weekend 1 year late due to the pandemic. While many establishments have been negatively affected by COVID19, this landmark of Bakersfield dining has been amazingly resilient. The steak I selected was grilled to perfection. So I recently started to eat healthier , I know I know bad time to be a yelper lol. But was really craving steak and some one on one time with the wifey. Was looking for something other then the typical chain steakhouse places in town and happened upon the Belvedere Room. We decided to give it a try after seeing the reviews. Omg,the wifey and I were not disappointed! I made reservations using the open table app , but arrived early with the intentions of "pre gaming " it. We came up to the hostess podium and he's said we could be seated right away. So we took the bait and we're glad we did. Our experience from beginning to end was phenomenal. We started off with a few drinks. My wife had some champagne and I followed with a old fashion. Both came in a timely manner and both we're really delicious. My old fashion was made perfectly just the way I like it. And the Brut selection was on point. We then proceeded to order. I had the 16 oz ribeye medium with asapargus and charred brussel sprouts, the sauce I chose was the red wine Demi which was fabulous. My wife had the salmon that was crusted with pistachio and sided with fingerling potatoes and asapargus. My steak was perfectly cooked topped with mushrooms ( that weren't on the menu ) but the waitress accommodated my request and the chef delivered. The Brussel sprouts were charred with a hint of balsamic vinegar and my asapargus cooked to perfection. My wife's salmon came out perfectly cooked and the sides my wife said were delicious. Overall a excellent experience , great service and excellent food.Definitely my new spot, which I will highly recommend if looking for a romantic place and delicious food here in my hometown. I recently visited the Belvedere Room while attending the Azunia Tequila Event. It was perfectly executed - complete with beautiful food prepared by the chef and Azunia tequila paired. It was also loads of fun seated family style and interacting with our table-mates. We were introduced to the tequila brand by the Padre Food & Beverage manager. He did an excellent job explaining the brand and the tequila process in the brand ambassadors absence. The food was amazing. Each dish better than the last. Every dish was bold and daring and something you wouldn't find on the current menu. Check out my photos for a visual diary of the nights foods. In all, the $75 to attend was well worth the price. The salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly and served atop a bowl filled with brown rice, sweet potatoes, spinach, and fresh avocado. Squeeze a lemon on top and you have the perfect marriage of salty and sweet. Several colleagues ordered the Niçoise salad with Scottish Salmon. It had olives, egg, fingerling potatoes, etc and looked divine. The perfect ambiance for a business luncheon with lots of quiet corners for the perfect romantic tête-à-tête. Food was outstanding!!! We were blown away by all the items we tried, especially the crispy lamb belly and risotto! Surprisingly delicious for this area, beats some LA/OC restaurants too in the taste arena. Disappointed they were out of beef tongue and foie gras!! Service, on the other hand, was so lacking!!! Really nice and friendly; however, forgot to bring us bread (didn't get any at all, btw), forgot my straw, and my cocktail took forever! Food took a while too, close to 40 minutes after we ordered. I recently visited the Belvedere Room while staying at the Padre Hotel overnight. I had read about the Belvedere Room and also saw a recent elite event hosted there and was so excited to check it out during my stay. I made reservations at the counter just to be safe but didn't have a problem. From the moment, I arrived I was greeted by my waitresses with a smile and willing to attend to me the entire night. I ordered the elk with asparagus and of course a few of their alcoholic drinks to go with the huge meal I had just ordered. Every bite of each entree ordered was savory and euphoric. Halfway through my meal, the manager Eduardo stopped by to offer me a taking of the Azunia tequila that was hosted the night before at an event hosted at the Belvedere. He was very knowledgable about tequila, charming and made my dinner experience very inviting. I like that everything offered on their menu is from a local farmer or vendor. love love love that. Overall, I highly recommend you treat yourself and check this really cool restaurant in Bako. if you live here or just passing through. I was looking for a place to take my wife for our anniversary. Choices are very very limited here in Bakersfield. The online system for the reservation was very simple and efficient. Located in the Padre Hotel, you have the option for valet or find parking in the street. We opted for street parking with plenty of spaces to choose from. I believe the Belvedere is the only 4-Star restaurant in town. The lobby of the hotel is very classy. We approached the hostess and was greeted with a friendly welcome. With our RSVP, we were seated right away. Some of the tables are really close to each other so we asked for a table that was a little more private and the hostess was more than willing to seat us at our choice, especially since there were plenty of open tables. We sat down and the waiter was very professional, albeit a little awkward, but very attentive and happy to serve us. The choice of wine was nice and very decent. The menu looked excellent. My wife had the Baby Beet Salad to start and then ordered Scallops for her entree and brussel sprouts for her side. She loved everything she ordered, especially her scallops, which is always a favorite for her. I went for the 16oz Rib eye Oscar style with truffle butter and the truffle puréed potatoes as the side. I highly recommend the oscar style but the rib eye was over salted, which I didn't make a big deal of, albeit, the steak was cooked perfectly, which is rare in my experience at other steak restaurants in town. The truffle potato was also nice. Be aware that all items are A-la-Cart which is normal for 4-5 star restaurants. When ordering sides, also be aware that they are enough to feed 2-3 people. After our meal, I had a cup of coffee and my wife had a latte with the recommendation of one of the waitresses, Kristin, who very kind, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. I had wished Kristin was out waitress. We will definitely be requesting her the next time we go in. A great touch: they gave us a complimentary dessert for the celebration of our anniversary, which was very kind. If you don't mind spending and splurging for a nice meal, The Belvedere is a great choice. I highly recommend this place. After receiving the bill, I was surprised it wasn't higher, which is what I expected. It was a plea to surprise. I give this place 4 solid stars. Again, my server was a little awkward and steak was over salted. Everything else was excellent and we will definitely be back. My husband & I celebrated our 11th Anniversary here on 5/9. While the dining room is beautiful, we found the food and service lacking. The service was friendly, but everything seemed to be extremely slow. The hostess greeted us with a warm smile & congratulated us on our Anniversary. Very sweet since that was mentioned in the reservations. Once seated, our server though friendly, seemed off and inattentive. It took a long time for our bread to come & even longer for our appetizer of clams even though we put in the order with our drinks. The clams had good flavor, but was not cleaned well. I bit into grit a few times. We both ordered the ribeye and let me tell you, these were the toughest ribeyes we've ever had. My husband is a chef so he knows his cuts of meat well. It was cooked to about medium/medium rare in some parts and it was giving us a jaw workout. We've had much tender cuts in less fancy places. Extremely disappointing. The mashed potatoes were the star of the show and the only thing that stood out. Our server checked on us twice. We were going to get dessert, but everything just took so long that we asked for to go boxes and our check. Our server probably didn't know it was our anniversary and he didn't ask if we were celebrating anything. As a former server, I always made sure to ask. Not impressed. I was very skeptical when I was going to this place . First rime I actually had dinner there but boy I was so wrong . Every thing you think off was amazing . Right from the courteous hostess to the our server every one was super friendly and nice . Little more attention to water or bread will make it one of the best in customer service Restursnt in Bakersfield . I had elk and it was very tasty . Chilli margarita was superb . Celebrated my husband's birthday with a couple of friends in August. Everything was delicious! Everyone's steak was cooked perfectly and the sauces were amazing. Just finished dinner at The Belvedere and it was one of the best meals I've had in years. Not only was the menu superb, but our waiter was one of the best waiters I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. Miguel knew the menu front to back, had great suggestions, and went out of his way to make sure Our dining experience was a positive one. We ordered the beet salad w/goat cheese to start. It was a bright note to begin the meal and had so many unexpected flavors. My boyfriend got the braised short ribs and I ordered the beef sirloin. His was so tender it was easily cut with a fork and mine was also cooked perfectly. The sides we ordered were the cauliflower with a romesco sauce and the mushroom risotto. The cauliflower was interesting in a positive way, the almond slivers added the perfect crunch. However, the risotto totally outshines it! It was the best risotto I have ever had. The mix of mushrooms and garlic was perfect. The dollops of goat cheese were a great addition to something that was already impeccably made, they gave it another bite that completely added to the dish. It is also my birthday so they brought out a complimentary creme brûlée to end the meal. It was a great finish to a wonderful experience. PLUS Miguel sang the birthday song! We made reservations at this restaurant. Drove an hour and a half to get there for the 7 course dinner they were advertising. After getting sat and waited 20 minutes to get greeted the server told us the 7 course dinner was cancelled and they only have a few al a cart items. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and two main entrées. We then had to wait another 25 min to get a glass of champagne and a Jameson with water (total of 40 min for a drink). Meanwhile, another table was sat after us and got mixed drinks served before we did. Our appetizer took another 30 minutes. Finally, our main entrées come out and the server tells us they ran out of mash potatoes. Another disappointment since we both asked for them specifically. They should have told us before they brought our food out. My food was Luke warm like it was sitting up in the window forever. My husband ordered a medium rare steak and it came out bleeding. We had to send the steak back to cook longer. Then the resturant charged us a covid charge. When we asked what it was for our server told us it's for masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. Yet, they didn't offer us any of these items and the server had the same mask the entire time. Not really sure why every table is getting charged extra because of covid. Absolutely ridiculous! Isn't that what all the grants were for? The server was nice and respectful it wasn't his fault. But we definitely will never be back and we will be sure to tell everyone not to go to this restaurant. read more

The husband and I came here for a Pre-Valentine's Day dinner. We were impressed with the decor, service of the waiter and attention to every detail. No cup went dry and everything was whisked away that was unneeded with the particular dishes we ordered. I ordered the Maine Lobster, he ordered an "upgraded" steak in recommendation from the waiter...a no-no, and we shared a cauliflower dish, along with a shrimp appetizer. The food was delicious and no A1 Sauce is served here. The dipping sauce for the steak was delicious. Everything exceeded our expectations....laughingly, I mean this because the hubby went from a 23 dollar steak to a 60 dollar one on recommendation of the waiter (hook, line, and sinker). I've heard plenty of good things about Belvedere but was not in a hurry to jump onto the wagon with everybody. After years of hesitating, Hubby and I decided to have our anniversary dinner here and I cannot believe I missed years of not trying their food. I ordered their Wagyu beef Ribeye that was perfectly cooked and melts in your mouth. I highly recommend it! Hubby ordered the duck and loved every bite of it. We ordered wild mushroom rissotto and Brussel sprouts with pork belly and both were really good as well. Overall our dining experience was 5 star. Our server Krystal (what I remember but hubby thinks it was Cristina...I apoligize if we both got it wrong) was amazing. The decor was very classic, more of a 30s or 40's era. It looks like they kept the original architecture and design of the hotel. I actually feel like I was in Alice in Wonderland because the ceilings were really high. The Belvedere realy felt like a five star restaurant. It was tucked in the corner of the hotel and it made me feel like I'm not in Bakersfield. No windows so you get lost with time. I like it because it made me enjoy every minute of my dining experience. I'm definitely coming back to this restaurant and I'm not waiting for a special occasion to go here again. read more

1- the food was a 3.5 ou t of 5, I wish they would use a bit of fresher ingredients for their meats. 2- the chairs feel that you are sitting in toilets, is tough when you sit and you sink too deep that the table is almost at chest level. 3- the desert we tried 2 of them, A- creme brûlée was delicious, the amazing top crust was perfectly done. B- the second dessert was sour dough chocolate wi ice cream, the bread was a bit too salty but still interesting. 4- the service, there is nothing better than get in amazing service, Adrian our waiter was genuinely taking care of us. Dang this place is GREAT!!!! Located inside the old Padre Hotel on the corner of 18th and F streets, the Belvedere room takes me back to the glamorous days when men were men, women were women and cows were food. When you walk into the recently restored Padre Hotel, you get a look into the glamorous days of the 30s and 40s. It was opened in 1928 as a luxury hotel and was 14 years old when Pearl Harbor was bombed. It fell into disrepair in the 60s and 70s, at one time becoming a shell of its former self. In the 50s Milton "Spartacus" Miller bought it and shortly after got into a fight with city hall over fire safety improvements. At one point the Padre had a fake missile on the roof aimed at city hall (missile now at Kern County Museum). There was also purportedly a cannon up there. Miller also was known for releasing a flock of turkeys in the city council chambers and sending the the council members tombstone shaped holiday cookies. Who knew? In 2008 the Padre was restored to its old glory and reopened in 2010, when the Belvedere Room came into being. I have been to other areas of the Padre, but never the Belvedere room. I can't believe what I missed! Every bite of food was heavenly. I completely loved every bite. The servers are so well trained they come to the table just before the next course is ready to clear plates and set you up for the next item to arrive. Service doesn't get better than that. The chef at the Belvedere deserves a medal for awesomeness as did our server, Christina. We went for our anniversary dinner and were so glad we did. I estimate that there will be a BUNCH of return trips to the Belvedere Room over the coming years as we introduce this place to family and friends. The food is obviously from really high quality sources and perfectly cooked. Seriously, the chef there is an artist. I had a beet salad that blew me away, my wife's Wagyu beef rib eye steak was phenomenal, by phenomenal, I mean best steak I have had in Bakersfield, and my duck breast was incredible. Two final thoughts: Next time I think I'll order the Turkey in honor of Spartacus Miller. Second, I plan to go up on the roof for drinks soon and when there, see if I can get a bead on City Hall! Dined on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was very busy and service was slow but very nice in the beginning. Wine was very good. We ordered two filets, one medium rare and one medium. Both arrived rare. Rare didn't bother me, but my wife could not do it. We are not the type to send food back but it was way too rare and expensive to waste. 20-25 minutes later I had finished my food and they returned her same cut up filet half well done and half medium well with a slab of butter in the middle to cover the big slice. For the price ($42) and time, they should have fired a new steak. My guess is it was just sitting in the back for a while and they forgot about it. At that point our waiter avoided us, likely because he didn't want to hear the feedback. How about a comp'd glass of wine or dessert for the inconvenience? We were really looking forward to the dinner but left with a large bill and major disappointment. read more

Lovely! Beautiful space, soft and intimate, yet hip and fresh. It's a little loud but not unbearable. People were dressed anywhere from shorts to evening gowns. Aim for "dressy" and you will be fine. The food was good! The table bread was delicious! Had the buratta cheese and the pork belly appetizers, both were fantastic. We ordered the grilled shrimp, the scallops and the lamb as entrees and passed them around. The lamb was a perfect medium rare. Scallops were seared beautifully. I found the food over salted overall, but it was still very good. Had the firefly cocktail, if you like sweet citrus drinks it's a must. It was a pretty decent place to celebrate events. Though there were some kinks on our experience, I give it 3.5 to 4 stars overall. My friend mentioned to the server that we were there to celebrate my birthday. He said the restaurant will do something special for us later and to leave some room in our tummy for dessert. The table was set but they forgot to light the candle centerpiece, which I didn't mind. The server compensated by lighting it in the middle of dinner. It actually complemented the nice ambiance. I will rate each food that we had: Complementary bread and butter: bread was cold. Nothing special. (3 stars) (Amuse bouche) lobster ceviche on top of crisp slice of green apple. 4stars. Took away one star. Female server (different from our first server) brought it to us and when we asked what it is, she couldn't tell us -she was like "its on the tip of my tounge." And she apologized and said she'll be right back and left. Male waiter came back and apologized and explained to us what was served. (Shared appetizer) foie gras on brioche. 3 stars. It was a tad bit raw in the middle for me. While it was warm and brown outside, the middle was cold and slimy. Maybe 10-15 seconds more in the pan, it would have been perfect. Brioche was crispy, with grill marks, and nicely buttered. (Amuse bouche) orange granita. 5 stars. It nicely cleaned our palates after that rich appetizer. My friend and I both had 16 oz wagyu beef ribeye. She had hers bloody rare and I had mine at medium. She had foie gras butter and red wine demi sauce with her steak. I had the PH (Padre Hotel) sauce. 5 stars for the steak. They were perfect pieces of meat. The PH sauce was the BOMB! It was delicious and complemented the steak well. My friend said wagyu beef is so rich, the butter was a little too much for her, but otherwise was delicious. We wanted brussels sprouts with bacon, but waiter came back and said the restaurant is out of it. We ordered the following sides: Truffle fries. 3.5 stars. It was good while hot but quickly became cold and greasy on the table, with fires clumping together from cold melted parmesan cheese. I prefer my fries crispier. It was a little soggy for me. Will not order again. Mushroom risotto. 4 stars. Yummy! There was something missing. It was creamy, savory goodness, but i was also looking for that nutty flavor which it was lacking. Warm baby spinach with bacon. 1 star. I wouldn't order it again. The spinach was limp, soggy, soaked in bacon grease and leaves the mouth with a bitter taste. Sauteed wild mushrooms. 4.5 stars. Delicious! We had merlot with our dinner. We couldn't finish everything. The waiter came back and asked if we want to order anything for dessert and we politely declined. 5minutes later, my friend caught the attention of our waiter and subtly hinted about the promised "birthday surprise." He came back and apologized saying the kitchen is already close. It was disappointing. But we ordered so much food and were too full anyways. Service was 3stars. The young male waiter assigned to us was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu, though initially appeared nervous. The female server who served the first amuse bouche was terrible. She coudn't tell us what she was giving us except that it is an amuse bouche. Little things like forgetting to light the candle centerpiece in out table then lighting it in the middle of dinner, asking to fill out water goblets (we had to ask servers passing by at least twice throughout dinner), and the promised birthday surprise that never came, were disappointing. The price was a little steep for the kind of service and experience that we had. I think my friend paid $150+ (tip not included) for a dinner for two. I would probably come back for the steak and PH sauce though. :) read more

Superb! This classy place is welcoming and perfect when you need to have a slightly classier meal. The staff was helpful the entire time we were there and everything they recommended turned out to be perfect. We tried several different dishes and all came perfectly cooked. I came on a Tuesday evening with a big work party. We were seated immediately as we had reservations but the service the rest of the night dragged on very, very slow. It took what seemed like forever to get all of our drinks ordered and then served. It took the waitstaff about a hour to serve the food. I almost feel like this is done on purpose so you will order additional drinks while you wait for your meal. My dinner that night was a salmon dish, which was fine. I had no complaints about the seafood, but I wasn't happy with the fact that I had to order the side dish al la carte to go with my salmon. The waiter told my party that the sides are made to split with others. However, the side dishes are not family style portions; they are made for about two. Not very cost effective when you have to split the sides with a large group. The mash potatoes weren't that great, but I highly recommend the brussel sprouts. They were delicious and probably the best item on the menu! Overall, the food was tasty enough but still not worth the long wait or the price you pay at the end. read more

We are very new to Bakersfield. I'm happy to have experienced a second good dining place in the Padre (as well as Farmacy for breakfast). The wait staff and managers were very nice and gave great service, however, for a restaurant only 40% full on a Saturday night, I don't know why it was so slow in the kitchen! We waited and so did everyone else about 45 minutes for our/their order. Also, the seating was uncomfortable. The cushioned long booths remind me of my outdoor garden furniture rather that springed, upholstered seating that you'd expect in a high end restaurant booth. The fabric was also torn on the booth I sat on. The decor was very nice otherwise. Food was very good. My fillet mignon was really good and the Brussel sprouts with blue cheese was delicious. We'd go back for sure as there isn't much choice in Bakersfield for ultra-high end restaurants. I like the ambiance of the Padre. Great looking historic hotel. Came here to spend Mother's Day and made reservations at 7pm. When we arrived the table wasn't ready for us with not very much people inside. However, it's understandable.. I'm thinking everyone is overwhelmed that it's Mother's Day. I also have lived in Bakersfield for years and have always wanted to eat at the Padre. So when I came here I had very high expectations for it. I assumed if I'm paying a great amount, then service and food would be great as well. We were finally seated and was pretty bummed that they have ran out of things on the menu. However, again I totally understand.. they probably had a lot of customers that day and Bakersfield is a desert. I started with the cheese platter which was so confusing to order. Our waitress was unclear of her directions and I ordered the cheese lover for $28?? So another waiter came by and gave us bread and spread and started to explain different types of cheese. I ask "so how many can we get" ? He says, "you can have as much as you want".... SURE! LET'S TRY THEM ALL! So I'm here thinking it's part of the Cheese lover.. but when I got the bill apparently it was an extra?? So they charged me the cheese lover and cheese n trolly which was an extra $14. I asked our waitress about it.. clearly, I'm still confused right now. But I was over the whole restaurant and just wanted to leave. Food AND drinks took a long time. It wasn't anything amazing. Honestly, it was a good experience to eat there but definitely not coming back. Food was just OK. I don't even know our waitress's name because she never introduced herself. But at least she was nice. My mom was also upset because it took a long time to even get one straw. She asked one of the waiters and I guess forgot about it. I'm thinking, "it's all good.. save the turtles". Mom wasn't having it.. she asked our main waitress for a straw and complained. They happened to be paper straws. Overall, not worth it. It's cool to experience it. Honestly, I'd rather go to the taco trucks out here in Bakersfield and the tiki bar down the street. read more

The best food in Bakersfield and one of the best meals i've ever had! Steak, perfect with choices in cut, rub, sauce and sides (including gnocchi Mac and Cheese!!!). Scallops, melty with a risotto that will knock you over it's so rich and amazing. Dessert, so good I dreamt about it (pumpkin pie with heath bar crumble) "Heath Bar is the Bacon of dessert...it takes any dish up 5 points" Service, unmatched with valet, wine expert, and servers who really know the food. Came here for our first wedding anniversary and we're extremely pleased. The ambiance is gorgeous but I'm a lil biased as green is my favorite color and the tall ceilings with gorgeous green fabric walls were stunning. The service was excellent. We ordered the Lobster bisque for appetizer which came with a thin wide cracker and sour cream type dallop and was amazing. Melted in your mouth like butter and had large chunk of lobster. They also gave us free home made bread rolls which were so yummy! I had the main lobster tail which was huge, soft, and perfectly cooked. My husband had the salmon which was juicy and flavorful. The sides here are served family style so we shared the loaded yukon potato puree and it was a large serving and sooooo delicious! The food was definitely an A+ and filling! The wine was good and came in small decanters with 2 servings. The cocktails were strong and made to taste. This place was perfect for our anniversary! I am excited to make it back to the different venues at the Padre Hotel. We started at Brimstone for pre dinner cocktails and had great service and drinks in a hip bar with pool tables and dinner seating as well as bar. This is a very nice dining experience - and it's not something people typically talk about as the "go to" for a romantic evening, but it should be. Tucked away in the back, so it's nice and quiet. The menu is seasonal with unique and flavorful appetizers. I'm a big fan of their Ribeye - ask them to do it "The Padre Way" and you'll be quite happy. Other standouts include the Duck Confit, and the Pacific Cod served with a shiitake, mint, and lemon grass consomme. Chef Brad Wise should be kinda famous for this. Why not five stars? Because it performed well in every possible category, and excelled in most, but there wasn't something on the menu that dazzled me. Don't get me wrong - it's capable of it. Came in for Easter brunch today and had a wonderful experience! The entire lobby had different stations of frequently replenished hot and cold items. I really liked how the meat, cheese, and omelette station had servers there to help. The Easter treats at the dessert table were the perfect way to finish off the meal. A special thank you to Chef Nick who catered to my nut allergy by helping me avoid certain dishes and by preparing me nut-free versions of those dishes. Above and beyond service and care! read more

This is the place to go if you are seeking out the best (fancy) food / drinks. The food is literally cooked to perfection, and the sides will delight you. If you have room for desert you will not be disappointed. The only reason for the 4/5 stars is the decoration / style could be better. read more

Had a dinner date here and I must say that the food and service are great. It was easy to make reservations and there was not a lot of people when we came on a Tuesday night. We had foie gras and crispy lamb belly as starters and the foie gras alone deserves five stars, that was our favorite among all our orders. I tried the rabbit paperdelle and my husband had the diver's scallops with a side of cremini mushrooms. Everything was really delicious, hats off to the chef! To top it off we had Orlando as our server, he's very kind & attentive. He made our dining experience here very pleasing. The only thing that made me rate this as 4 stars instead of five is the ambiance. You can hear all the noise and buzz from the restaurant on the other side of the hotel which really kills the romantic/formal vibe of this place. I recently had my small intimate wedding reception at the Belvedere room. Chelsea the events planner was extremely helpful in getting the planning in Bakersfield done. I live in Vegas. She had personalized menus created for my event which turned out amazing and special. Josh, the food and beverage director, allowed me to have my dinner in the Prospect Lounge at no charge for a more personalized experience for me and 18 guests. As soon as I arrived he explained the menu options and saved me tons of money. The night of the dinner our servers Julissa and Vanessa did an amazing job.
