I just really like Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Came with my son on a Friday evening. It was crowded but the line moved quickly. More expensive than buying a pint but the dipped cone with sprinkles, topped with gummy bears is a child's dream come true, especially being able to walk outside in beautiful weather. Much too big for a 7 year old but it was delightful. The experience of being able to go to the playground down the street while eating a giant cone was worth more than the $10 price tag. read more

Worst experience ever when my partner recently ordered a custom ice cream cake for my birthday. I selected what I had wanted and we put the order in online 3 days (Weds) before the scheduled pickup day (Sat). We received an email saying that an employee would reach out to call us to confirm the details. We never received a call so we weren't sure if they were even going to be able to make the cake for whatever reason as we never got confirmation. We tried multiple attempts to call the store each day and no one ever picked up (we had other questions we wanted to ask in regards to the cake). I understand that they're located in Seaport area but I just can't imagine it to be thaat busy at the end of November. But who knows maybe it is. Either way no one would pick up and leaving a voicemail was impossible because the voice mailbox was full. Finally on the day of pickup, we took a gamble and went to the store and luckily the cake was made and ready for pickup. HOWEVER... they made the custom cake wrong. We left the highly traffic area and was well on our way home when we noticed on the invoice that one of the flavors was wrong. I had picked Half Baked and Milk&Cookies. On the invoice they had incorrectly put Mint instead of Milk&Cookies. We called the store and they finally picked up their call today for once and the worker confirmed it would most likely be the Mint flavor. The worker offered to give us another one of their cakes that they had in store but we did not want another cake as we had wanted the custom for a reason plus driving back into Seaport area on a Saturday is such a pain. She said that the manager would get in touch with us for a solution. The manager called and offered to have us come back to the store the next day for a free cake coupon for the next time we order a cake. With the experience that we've had with Ben&Jerry's we did not want this and just wanted a refund. When I had chosen the 2 flavored cake, I did not know I would receive a bonus "flavor" of frosting on top as thick as the bottom ice cream flavor Mint. Why was the frosting so thick, is that normal lol. I literally had to scrape all that frosting off. No hate to the mint lovers but mint on a cake combined with another flavor just aint it. I would like to believe if it was any of the other flavors that Ben&Jerrys has it might've been okay. But mint is just a god awful flavor to be put in for a cake and to be paired with the Half Baked. It's like I'm eating choco+vanilla icecream with some toothpaste mixed in. Horrendous. Very unfortunate that this was my experience with Ben&Jerry's cake as I had high expectations. This ben and Jerry's has a great location in the center of the seaport. The store is pretty small so if you are with a big group maybe not the most practical. It also has no indoor seating. They pretty much have all the flavors of Ben and Jerry's imaginable and a fridge of pints to take home. You really can never go wrong with Ben and Jerry's. read more

I got the lite mocha fudge ice cream, which was DELICIOUS. Would highly recommend if you like cold brew and brownies. It supposedly has less sugar than the non-lite flavors, but it was still pretty sweet so I couldn't even tell. I also tried the cinndoughrella which tasted just like a Cinnabon - amazing! read more

We all know Ben & Jerry's ice cream is awesome. We also know we can get it for a lot cheaper next door at CVS or 7-Eleven. We go to the scoop shop for two things, selection and customer service. This shop has selection, but not so much customer service. It's not common to go in and feel like you are interrupting the employee from some other task they are working on. They also don't really rinse the scoopers between orders. So I had pink in my white ice cream, which was discerning since I ordered a dairy free options. Luckily I don't have a dairy allergy, but I do have a friend who could have had an IBS attack from such lack of care. Today was though was the worse. I walk in just before 12:30 and the employee has her back to the door, scooping out all the old ice cream onto the new ice cream. That doesn't sound like a good thing for premium ice cream, but alright. So I wait and stand their for several minutes waiting to be acknowledged. All the while there was another employee who was carrying things from the front to the back room, who clearly saw me, but didn't offer his fellow employee a simple heads up. Anyways, after several minutes, I turned around and left without any ice cream. So yes, if you want Ben & Jerry's, pints are next door at CVS. Absolutely ridiculous - I received a gift card and I can not use it at the shop in the Seaport as the system doesn't accept them. I've never heard of such a thing, as the system accepts credit cards and a gift card has paid credited dollars to use. I live in the Seaport area and I would have to go to the Newbury shop to use the gift card. It's unfortunate as the staff are super friendly and chill but it's just upsetting to know that money that was already paid to the company can't be used at this location. I think Kai is right in that B&J's stores are not that special since their ice cream can always be bought in a store. I think the ice cream on the stores is a bit tastier and fresher than the markets, it at least seems a bit creamier. But that could just be a placebo effect. Prices at this B&J's is a little pricey, but that is to be expected in the seaport. I can't really say too much about this place...it's just a basic ice cream shop. Service was adequate and the dining room was clean. Scoop sizes were average and there were a good amount of flavors. It wasn't too busy, but we also went on a cold November night. I'd probably give it a 3.5; but this is a new store and doesn't have many ratings. I'm having a good day, so I'll round up instead of down and give them a 4. Is it the best ice cream? No, and the seaport district really needs an original creamery or a JP Licks of some sort to pop up soon. But until then, I'll probably be back sometime in the summer when I go for an extended bathroom break. read more

I am a return visitor to this location and was disgusted with the lack of service today. When I asked for lids on my ice cream my scooper literally scooped the top scoop off of the 3 scoop and 2 scoop to essentially make them a 2 scoop and 1 scoop. I needed a next-day ice cream cake ordered so I called to order one that was in stock. On the phone the person told me they didn't know if they could have writing on the cake because they "didn't know if the cake decorator was in tomorrow" then finally he figured out they would be in, I wanted a simple happy birthday message on the cake, I pay over the phone and the guy asks if I want to tip the cake decorator. Never heard of such a thing, I ask what is common and he says "15-20%" (which lands about $8 from a "large" cake) which I think is absurd for happy birthday on a $43+ cake. I reluctantly add $4 so they don't screw it up. Call the next day to pick it up 30 min early and inquire about the "cake decorator" being in- the girl tells me they're not in but she can just "write it in one minute" - why did I pre-tip a "cake decorator" then? It was also spelled wrong as the original transcriber didn't write too legibly. The girl was super nice and definitely didn't understand the "tipping the cake decorator" nonsense (I asked to make sure she was the one receiving the tip- she was not). Overpriced but delicious product and it is total highway robbery to even ask for a tip for the "decorating" -happy birthday written in fudge should be a given and not be made to seem like it deserves an $8 tip. read more
