We arrived at Ben & Jerry's walk-up stand right when they opened, so no line! Flavors that are gluten-free are labeled - yay! The staff is friendly, and the ice cream is rich and creamy dreamy just like I remembered it. I got chocolate and chocolate PB chunk. I have always remembered this Ben & Jerry's location from my childhood. Located outside near the LL BEAN parking lot they are. Sometimes there is even a line. The ice cream is a crowd pleaser for sure. Always tasty with their abundant amount of flavors. Service was great the day we were there in late July. They tried their best to make everything great for us and the customers behind us. Orders came out pretty quick. My advice: Get a paper receipt and look it over closely. I opted for an email receipt and when I opened it at home, I noticed I was seriously overcharged. The difference between one scoop and three (which no one in my family ordered) adds up quickly. An absolutely great Ben & Jerry's. The employees were very personable and offered free samples. Displays of cones and toppings allow you to pick the best option. The sundae I got was fantastic! I was browsing the retail area and had a couple questions about styles and sizes of shirts. The employees explained to me that they didn't have unique shirts yet for this L.L Bean location. I explained I'd be visiting the B&J factory next week and they happily explained there were many more shirt choices and they'd be cheaper at the factory too. read more

Can't wait till I can't find it at the grocery store. Service was very fast, there was only one server but waited in line for maybe 5 minutes with about 4 people in front of my group. I was sure glad I did but was dismayed that they didn't have my favorite Half Baked-alas Chocolate Brownie was a great second. Meager portion but I think it's because you really just want to eat more and more (it's normal size) but a tad pricey. Yet don't be cheap and go for it. Disappointed in the Cherry Garcia served in Freeport, Maine, on June 30. Faint hint of cherry flavor, but no cherries and not the pinkish color that is expected from the cherry juice. Basically, vanilla ice cream, chocolate chunks, and a very slight touch of cherry flavoring. The Cherry Garcia slices sold at grocery stores, however, are a dream! Huge cherries, excellent flavors, decadent chocolate, and all that lives up to the name. The two cones we purchased in Freeport should have matched that deliciousness. Unfortunately they did not.
