Hey I don't chat companies up much but the owners care about the service you get , inform me when I needed to attend to real issues not fluffy possible things that would make a bigger ticket and I felt like they did what I needed and still helpful to my needs . Good job guys

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!!! They are dishonest and will straight up lie to you about what parts they are putting in your vehicle. I have proof of all of it posted here. Follow along if you'd like. Back in Sept. 2021 my transmission went out on my Silverado 1500. I am from Dallas but was visiting in Austin and so was forced to have it repaired there unless I got it towed all the way back. I found South Austin Auto Repair shop and took my truck in. I was given the option to put in a rebuilt transmission (less expensive, less reliable, shorter lifespan, about 30k+ miles) or a remanufactured transmission (more expensive, more reliable, longer lifespan, about 80k+ miles). I opted to pay the shop more for the reman transmission because I planned to drive my truck for many more years. I pick my truck up about a week later after they call me to let me know it is ready and when I show up the motor to roll up/down my driver window has stopped working while in their possession and we argue back and forth and they refuse to fix it so I pay them to do that too so I can drive back to Dallas without my window down the entire way up I-35. Fast forward 2 years and probably about 20k miles (max) later, and my transmission is slipping again, exactly how it felt right before it went out last time. I took it to get diagnosed and sure enough they told me it is failing. I call the shop, which is now Ben White Automotive, to let them know of the issue and check the warranty. This shop and South Austin Auto Repair have the same owner (Ron Stanley) as I have proof based on the BBB listings. I speak with Jerome (see our text conversation) there who at first tells me they only have a 2 year warranty on the work/parts. I then asked where the remanufactured transmission came from because there could be a manufacturer warranty that covers it. (GM warranty is 3 yr/100K miles on reman transmission purchased from them) He proceeds to confirm to me that it is in fact a reman. transmission and where they bought it from (Capitol Chevrolet in Austin). This is all shown in texts between Jerome and I. To get to the end of this, I dug and dug, called the dealership, GM, and Ben White Automotive trying to get answers. Everyone seemed to not have record of a reman. transmission ever being purchased for my truck except conveniently the ones who I paid to put it in. Somehow Jerome was able to "confirm" that they did in fact put a reman. transmission in my truck and where it was purchased from, but when pressed to show me where he found that info. he continued to make the excuse that "South Austin Auto Repair shut down so we don't have records from back then because the business shut down." Well then how were you able to tell me what type of transmission was put in and where it was purchased at? Make that make sense Jerome. I pressed this question and he blocked my number shortly after. Basically Ron Stanley and his dishonest team will lie to you, cover things up, and then essentially tell you to get lost when you start having issues. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!!!

Expensive Cost with bad Customer Service

I took in my Pathfinder to get a thermostat issue resolved. Cost me a whopping near $600. Paid the cost with no arguments and nice response to receiving payment. When I finally drove off, a squeaking sound emerged. I turned right around and showed Gary the problem. His mechanic said it was the belt. The same belt was fine before I took it there. I tried to argue it but he wasn't gonna do anything about it for free. He refused to fix it. He just washed their hands. Horrible Service. I will never go back unless the thermostat blows out because it has a warranty! Other than that never again! I said my piece.

Avoid this mechanic at all costs. They took 3 attempts to find the issue with my vehicle and still did not fix it. Waste of time and money.

As for my financials you couldn't afford to cover me for most of anything. You're supposed to fix the car THEN i pay you. I was hesitant every time you asked me to pay for stuff. Here's another red flag for anyone looking to hire Frank. On my recording you came to ask for payment because you were late and having problem paying your taxes. I told you over and over I didn't want to take you to court because I am not that guy. You lie about the transmission issue. You didn't cover squat or offer the towing out of your pocket or pay for extra oil to be generous. It's because I was direct with you and. It happy and told you I would be reviewing this kind of post. This is why you flipped and started offering me these things because you knew I was going to take you to court. You offered free labor on the transmission as a way to negotiate with me to keep from going to court. I kept record as I said of you and I talking when you offered immediately to have my car towed. I have a completely well recorded and documented list of other things I will not share but in court that show you dropped the ball over and over. No I did not want to pay you money until jobs were completed . I showed pics of how bad my car was when I came to pick it up. The hat is why you had it detailed as you absolutely should. I'm done here and will update after court. I've asked you over and over the last couple weeks for a detailed receipt of charges and repairs and you've yet to give me one. What kind of business can't give an actual normal receipt of repairs. This is another red flag .

After their inspection, I approved additional repairs and paid $2,006.64, picking up the car on Nov. 17. Within days, the leak was worse. Instead of one leak, I now had two, along with a strong burning-oil smell while driving. I returned on Nov. 21 and was told it was just leftover oil and that everything had been cleaned. That same evening, I discovered the car was leaking from three different places. I brought the car back again on Dec. 2. After no communication all day, I called and was told they found another leaking gasket and wanted an additional $400. I was also told that "oil leaks are tricky on Volkswagens," but a properly diagnosed repair should not turn one leak into multiple new leaks in a matter of days. At this point, I declined further work. I paid over $2,000 and ended up with a car in worse condition than when I brought it in. I requested a refund in writing and never received a response. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

I despise writing a poor review for a locally-owned business, but after months of being led-on and ignored, I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else's precious time. My husband was in a car wreck in October 2025. The person who rear-ended him has terrible insurance, so we decided to file a claim through our insurance, Allstate. Capital City Collision provided us a quote that our insurance did not agree with. An Allstate negotiator went back and forth with the shop. Part of the issue was my husband's truck had after-market parts that were damaged. Our Allstate negotiator, Elizabeth, called us to confirm that she was able to get funds approved by her manager and they reached an agreement on pricing with the shop. A check for $2,207.66 was sent to the shop to start ordering parts. According to Allstate, the shop cashed the check on January 20th. It is now March 19th and the shop still has yet to reach out. I have tried calling the shop multiple times in the last two months. Each time I call, they answer and hang-up immediately. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are busy. I tried calling the shop today, and again, same situation: answer, then hang up. I thought to myself, "hmm... maybe they really are ignoring our calls?" So I waited 15 minutes and called back with a blocked number. What do you know... Catherine decided to pick up and answer this time! She kept me on hold for 9 minutes before taking me off hold and hanging up on me immediately. I called back, and a man answered. He transferred me up to Catherine, who kept me on hold for 4 minutes this time and hung up immediately. While I was on hold the second time, I received a text message saying they wouldn't do business with us. They ignored my text, asking when they planned on returning the check they cashed for $2,207.66. My husband and I have been trying to get his truck fixed since October 2025. It is now March 2026. I understand that our insurance was being difficult to work with... we were annoyed by Allstate, too! That being said, Capital City Collision could have rejected our business months ago, instead of stringing us along. Rather than sending this text message 5 months ago when this all started, they chose to dodge our calls and waste our time. Unprofessional does not even begin to describe their behavior. They were avoidant, deceptive, thieving, and rude.
