    Masala dose
    Arvind S.

3.5/5. Rounding to 3 I am not from Bengaluru but I know a good Bengaluru Masala dose (I prefer to call it a dosa but being from Chennai!) having been there plenty and had my fair share of masala dose there. The dosa was good, heavy on butter (expected), with the red chutney as described. Pretty authentic in that sense of course. But I felt something was missing to make it a top notch Bengaluru masala dose, it was above average and maybe could have been slightly thicker. The coconut chutney on the side was very good. The dosa is on the smaller side. And it was slightly cold. No other chutney/sambar (expected) but that makes me feel the Bengaluru masala dose in the Bay Area are overpriced for what comes. You finish it in a few minutes and feel like you need one more, which means spending 27-28 dollars! We also had the ghee pudi thatte idli and that was above average/not the biggest portion size. Heavy on ghee/podi. Was cold as well. There are a couple of tables outside the cloud kitchen type setup and those were occupied. They start making your dosa after you check in there after ordering ahead. Pros and cons of that, given you have to wait 15 odd minutes in person after ordering 20 minutes ahead. We had the dosa near our cars because we knew it wouldn't taste as good taking it home. Folks handling our check in were really friendly though! I may not come back given I live fairly far away and the value for money isn't the best.

This is based on a similar concept like another favorite dosa place of mine in the Bay. The dosa was pretty good. A little oily though, the butter seeped through the paper plate. And I had the coffee which could have been a tad stronger. The pricing is again similar to the other dosa place but there could be few improvements. - we went to pick our order at our given slot but were asked to wait for 15 mins. . I went back after 15 mins and turned out our order was waiting for a while. There was no text telling us to come pick it up. - we asked for takeout and got plates. There are only two tables so you either have to sit in the car or stand and eat. - it looked like people were ordering on the site while the site showed as sold out. So I wasn't clear on the process. That said the food had flavors. And maybe things will stabilize. The place is only open on Saturday as of now and has a limited menu. But I am excited with the number of Bangalore dosa places in the area.

Yummy crispy masala dose with chutney

Service : Outstanding. The chef absolutely understands her customers, takes time to interact, and you can see the passion for her food. She drives all the way from Sacramento to San Jose. I mistakenly dropped the batter and they replaced it at no cost. Quality and authenticity: Best dose and chutney I have had in US. No need of any stuffing, sides. When the dose is so beautiful it's like art. Hygiene: 5/5 . Even in the food, you can taste the freshness. Cannot wait to try the coffee, idly and explore other dishes on their menu. Hope their business grows .

Service was prompt. Ambiance was nice. Pachmichi Paneer Pulaav (medium) - it was so flavorful and even medium spicy was perfect spicy. So far my experiences here have been pleasant, with the service being friendly and there being an ample amount of seating inside. I've noticed that the food tends to run on the spicier side (we ordered mild and yet it was still spicy, though perhaps just a sign of my spice tolerance failing me), but outside of that it tasted good. Panni Puri - This was my first time trying a panni puri and it tasted really good, even though I found it spicy (we ordered mild). I especially loved the texture of the onions inside of it. I ate it earlier on which made it harder for me to tell which other dishes were spicy and which ones weren't at the time as a result of its lingering spiciness, but I would happily order it again given the opportunity. Punugulu/Veggie Puff/Vegetarian Fried Rice - All three of these were good and I do recall them being non-spicy. The veggie puff was especially refreshing after trying to get through the paneer pulav Mirchi Bajji - These were also good and surprisingly not as spicy as I thought they would be, considering that they have chili peppers in them Naan with House Vegetable Curry - The vegetable curry was really spicy and it took me a while to realize this because I was still dealing with the effects of the panni puri while I was eating this. Had I not brought some of it home as leftovers I probably would've thought that this was non-spicy Paneer Pulav - Much spicier than expected. I needed to use some of the curd to tone it down but it was still good. The texture of the rice was good too The cold drinks on their menu come in a reusable bottle and from their display I can assume that their desserts are the same way. So far the ones I've tried (mango lassi, rose milk, and chikoo shake) have been refreshing. There's also a falooda section that closes at around 8:00 pm, but I haven't been able to try them yet as both times we got there past eight. Overall a pleasant experience in spite of the spiciness. Perhaps one day I'll be strong enough to handle it without the curd, but it'll probably take a couple of additional visits before I can.

They catered our wedding of 260 guests, and Tarun and his team completely blew everyone away. We had a VERY hard-to-please crowd, including a lot of guests coming from India who work in hospitality and restaurants themselves, and people could not stop talking about the food. I searched high and low for a Bay Area Indian wedding caterer and honestly found a lot of the options disappointing. Amber was completely different. The food was incredibly flavorful, beautifully cooked, and actually presented well too, which can be hard to pull off at this scale. They are also a full service caterer, which makes managing the event much easier. We used Amber for all of our wedding events, and Tarun made sure every menu felt different and interesting rather than just repeating the standard butter chicken-type dishes. We had paneer tacos, Indo-Chinese served in Chinese takeout boxes, which was SUCH a cute touch, pani puri shooters that made them super easy to eat, and an incredible rasmalai tres leches for dessert, among many other items. The value is also amazing. For some of our pre-wedding events, we did their roughly $40/person package with four items plus dessert. I was worried it might not be enough food, but it was more than plentiful. Tarun himself is an absolute gem. He is kind, accommodating, creative, and goes above and beyond to make the event feel special. You can tell he genuinely cares. We did not want a standard buffet as we wanted the event to feel more elevated, and he did a great job of accomodating our request for family style, as well as serving apps + mains at two different venues in the South Bay ~20-30 min from each other. Our guests are still talking about the food. Amber India truly helped make our wedding weekend, and I would recommend them without hesitation. Easily one of the best decisions we made.

I visited during lunch with a few friends, and we were wowed by the variety of food options. The naan was served fresh, and everything we tried tasted really good. Everything was delivered on time and tasted perfect. For appetizers, we ordered Dahi Bhalla, Achaari Paneer, and Gobi Manchurian. For the main course, we had Chana Masala, Butter Chicken, and Paneer Lababdar, along with Naan and Lachcha Paratha. We also ordered Moong Dal Halwa for dessert. Dahi Bhalla was a super hit! Several guests said it was hands down the best Dahi Bhalla they had ever had at a restaurant. All the other dishes were equally delicious and received lots of compliments. It does not get chewy or gets dry. 5 Star Sunny and Love they work hard to make it happen. Kudos to them. It took about 10-15 minutes for our order to be complete! We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 entrees for 3 people to share family style. Apps: - Rice: can't go wrong with carbs - Garlic Naan: big 4 pieces that are fluffy, crispy, and lots of flavor Entrees: - Butter Chicken: a classic staple and lots of chicken that was tender, juicy, and so much saucy flavor - Dahi Puri: a good portion of 8 and it was so filling because of the potato and just a flavor bomb that explodes with so much complex flavor of sweet, creamy, crunchy, and more! Best to eat this first before it gets too soggy. - Achari Chicken Tikka: lots of meat here as well, with more spicy flavors in this dish - Daal Makhani: hearty lentil soup! Great experience! Since you're also getting roti or naan, this is backwards to me. Unless you're a carbatarian, get the regular entree and rice and bread on the side to balance the ratios. They don't have enough vegetarian items that we want to eat from them again, now that we've tried them a couple times we'll move on to other local Indian restaurants. We recommend: -Malai Kofta: good sauce flavor, though neither the sauce or the kofta were what we're used to from previous favorite Indian restaurants. The kofta are very fluffy but bland + Punjabi Kadhi Pakoda: good sauce flavor, and the spinach pakoras were good. This sauce has a kick, so it's also good with raita. + Paneer lababdar: good flavor of sauce and cheese -Aaloo tikki chaat: good, I liked the mix of flavors. +naan was good, nice chewy texture and large size We don't recommend: -Bhalla Papdi Chaat: I liked this but my husband didn't. I mainly liked the sauces and the papadi (the crackers I got did not look homemade), so I would try their other appetizers instead. FYI, it doesn't come with pomegranate seeds like in the photograph. -Tandoori Broccoli: huge disappointment, inedible. They either used super old bitter broccoli, or massacred the flavors. It had to go straight into the compost. Neither of us could stand it. Looks like they took it off the menu. -Palak pakodi chaat: so salty it burned my tongue. Saltiest pakora I've ever had. -Amritsari chole: I wasn't a fan of the flavor of this and would have tossed it but my husband thought it was ok and was willing to eat it.
