We come here about every other month because I love a good Japanese steakhouse with group hibachi. I definitely suggest you make a reservation even if you go during non-peak times, just because there's often a wait to be seated. Sometimes, once seated, you'll notice delays in the service. It seems like they are often understaffed, but that's not the server's or chef's fault. We've never had bad service or food. It's always been good. As far as the ambiance, I think the restaurant is showing some age and could be a bit cleaner, but overall, I don't hesitate to recommend it to friends and coworkers. It's not cheap, but the prices seem pretty reasonable. I get a bottle of plum wine that seems quite overpriced, but that's typical of any Japanese Steakhouse, in my experience. I'd give this a 4 of 5 if I didn't know what to expect, just because of the decor/vibe/slower times... but I know what to expect and still choose to go because I always have a good experience, and those things don't bother me. read more

Update 5/23/2022 Every time I think this Benihana has improved, they revert back to the pre-2020 standards. I have been celebrating my birthday here with my family for years. Tonight we had a reservation at 6:30 pm. After waiting 1 hour, I checked with the hostess again, and she told me it could be another 30 to 60 minutes before we would be seated. I confirmed that she was telling me that it was going to be a 1.5 to 2.0 hour wait even with a reservation. She said that these waits are now common at the restaurant even on a weeknight. Being that my family could not wait 2 hours to be seated and most likely 2 more hours for the meal, we unfortunately couldn't stay. So, this will be the first year I haven't celebrated my birthday at Benihana. It may also be the last time I try and plan a family dinner here because the waits are simply too long and the service too slow. As we were departing, I realized that nobody that I spoke to this evening apologized for the long wait or the inconvenience. I really wanted to leave three starts but could not bring myself to do it. Starting with the positive. The food and drinks were good. The server and the hibachi chef were friendly. I had a 6:45pm reservation and arrived shortly after 6:30pm. We were seated at 6:35pm. Now for the not so positive. Seated at 6:35 right? I think drinks arrived around 7:10 or so. The chef arrived around 7:30. Everything took a long time. I ended up having to find someone to run my card so I could leave. The other two parties at the table left cash and got the heck out of dodge. Having been to many Hibachi restaurants, Benihana tends to be on the higher end with regards to cost. I do not mind the cost but will never pay that much money for the level of service received. I may try their to go options but I have a feeling I will be waiting for an extended period of time. I knew I should have listened to the reviews, but the pull of driving by so often and just never knowing for myself, i gave in. I am weak. Don't be like me. First, yes, we had reservations and still had to wait 15 minutes or so. When we were sat, there was already another family at the table so it wasn't like we were waiting to fill up a table. As we walked through the restaurant, there was trash on the ground - napkins, straw wrappers, etc. tables were sitting unbused. The bathrooms were ever worse, garbage overflowing. And we had 5:30pm reservations so it's not like it was after dinner rush, this was before! The place should have been cleaned and prepped pre-dinner rush. But, as others said, all comes down to management. Once seated, we sat another 30 minutes without drinks. Our server was absent, possibly stoned, and we had to keep asking for things in the 20 min intervals he did grace us with his presence. He forgot half the drink orders, soups, sauces, tea, icecream. But, I kept my cool because - Yelp told me! I did this to myself! Overall, I'd give the food 2 stars. No fun hibachi show. No good side sauces, which I repeatedly had to ask for. Chicken was chopped in small pieces and heavily peppered. Garlic lemon shrimp were ok. They were "out" of the 6th course ice-cream options except rainbow sherbet. There are some really delicious *local* hibachi places in the area. Run to those, don't think twice! Oh, and for spending $200+ this really was a shame of a dinning experience. I get times are tough but basic restaurant cleanliness and a present server would be nice when dishing out big money. The service is good overall but if you see your waiter or waitress slacking get on them earlier to get it corrected, don't just let it lack the entire time. Alright good folks, so Im here for the Chef's table birthday certificate (Since RA Sushi closed ) and let me just give you a run down 1) You get a $30 certificate -You have to spend at least $60 to use it. 2) You can only use it Mon - Thurs for dinner. -Dinner starts at 3pm -The dinner menu is limited. What you see for online ordering, the majority is not on the dinner menu. I BASICALLY came for the ramen but couldn't even get it ‍ - Not busy at 3 but waited a good 45 minutes. Now heres a few other stipulation that ruined the experience for me. I'm introverted and wanted to be off in a nook somewhere to decompress after and before work, in that order. Nope, i was placed at a big ole grill table by myself with a chef. Very awkward and financially something that could've been used on a group of 8, but I digress. The chef was pretty nice about it all, but I did let him know that I had to go shortly. So while I waited, my meals could've been prepped for me to go since Im heading to work after but "Dine in only". So he got to cooking to give me a bit of an experience. When he was done I started eating and yup everything sitting out while I eat, almost $80 worth of food, while the poor guy cleaned the grill. All just unnecessary. In a nutshell I think some adjustments could be made, but who knows why they changed the certificate stipulations. I dont think this is a place that I would frequent, even for the bday offer. We arrived 10 mins before our scheduled reservation time today (Christmas Day) and were immediately told they were running late for reservations (30-45 mins). Management overbooked and was running way behind which had the small waiting area packed and overflowing to the sushi area. We ended up sitting at the bar and were promptly greeted and our order taken. We were served and finished promptly where other patrons who had our same reservation time were finally seated as we were leaving (over an hour later). Kailey saved a lot of anger and frustration from not only us but other patrons who were wanting to grab a drink while they waited. She was ALL ALONE and did not panic or show any stress while completing bar orders among the table orders that were coming in incessantly. For some reason, there was some descension about using my birthday coupon, which was strange to me. But after a little back and forth, we got it together. The food was pretty good, even though the chef made a mistake on my order, but it happens, I am not strict on that at all, because the overall experience was fine. We made a reservation through open door which was easy and quick. The chef was funny and nice! The waitress seemed inpatient and scattered. Normally I would give the benefit of the doubt if she was the only one working with a bunch of tables... but this wasn't the case, she only had our table and spent most of the time talking to her friends/texting. When it came time to check out, we waited 30 minutes for her to even notice we were done and our plates were gone. (This is after trying to get her attention multiple times) Legitimately we could have walked out without paying and she wouldn't have even noticed.
