This used to be the fancy place back in the 90s to eat. Plenty of trips here when I was a teen and in my 20s. Opted to drop in randomly (and very dressed drown). It's lost some of its luster over the years but still enjoyable. You're really shelling out lots of money to cook your own food, imo. We got a small table in a dark corner. I did like the two person seating here. Their schtick is fondue here, if you hadn't figured that out. For the meal, we did the 2 person full course that comes with dessert. Be weary that it's A LOT of food, even if it is overpriced. We received a specialty salad to start off with and a cheese fondue (I did the spicier cheese selection, fiesta). My main course was steak and salmon, which was ok. The dessert was great but I was already stuffed halfway through the entree. Overall, it was a decent experience. Poor service, not enough staff to handle the tables. Food was about the same as before but the oil was either not hot enough to cook our food or too hot and burned our food. Our server would disappear for 30 minutes at a time because he was slammed and we were left with empty drinks for a long time. We are long time customers but haven't been in a year or so. The price was not an issue as it was about the same as always however, we left hungry and dissatisfied. Not a great birthday dinner for my 19 year old who had specifically requested this. read more

We used to go to The Melting Pot fairly regularly when we lived in a different location. This was our first time trying the Roswell location. Having so much previous experience probably enhanced our visit today. We made a reservation and arrived about 5 minutes early. There was no one at the hostess stand and a contractor was doing some work near the entrance. He went in the back to alert the staff of our arrival. The hostess was pleasant and quickly showed us to our table. It was early and we appeared to be the first customers of the day. That being said, it was quiet and calm. I imagine that later on in the day, it could get much louder in here based on how close the tables were and how the overall place was arranged. Because we'd visited another location we were familiar with the concept and began to review the menu. Our server was pleasant and prompt, but did not know much about the menu options for brunch. She also was unaware of a few items that they were out of until she went back and asked. It didn't bother us, but I could see a first timer being a bit put off. The brunch menu allowed us to try a few things that we wouldn't normally get. The berry Waffles were great. The bruschetta was another winner. Our cheese was great. Some of the bread tasted fresher than others. There were a few pieces that probably shouldn't have made it to the table. But again, they didn't ruin the overall meal. I would come back. I'd be hesitant to come late in the day because the parking lot looked a little tight and the tables and pretty close together. read more

I have always loved fondue at the melting pot, but this location has been a little disappointing the past few times for the entree and salads. They don't seem to be as good quality ingredients as you would expect for the price. Since you're cooking the meat yourself you want good quality and good flavor. I do still love the Wisconsin cheddar cheese fondue, original chocolate fondue and the flaming turtle fondue. The chocolate strawberries are delicious also. Highly recommend them. All the while I thought this place only did cheese and chocolate fondue....I didn't know they had a grill option as well for various proteins! #mindblown Being that I live in Georgia, there are plenty of Korean Bbq's that you can grill up your meal on your own at your table for much less. What sets Melting Pot aside is not only the presentation, but the initial cheese dipping session as well as the sweet chocolate session! So many cheese and chocolate types to choose from it's best to just ask your server if you're not sure! Or go with what you feel! Judging from what we ordered I don't think you can go wrong. I'm sure all the flavors taste delishhhhh!! I think for this review I'll let the pics speak for themselves! However. Side note. If you do the grill option, guard yourself and your guests from random oil splatters from the grill. It gets less poppy after the grill has been going for a while! Best fondue place in Atlanta by far! The drinks were fresh and flavorful, the waitress was funny, patient, and kind, and the food was unbelievably delicious. We got a cheese fondue for an appetizer; it was simple and tasty. Our meal was a course of five different meats. Absolutely suburb. Good amount of food, but don't come here if you're looking to save money; this place is probably going to be reserved for special occasions for our family. I really wanted to love this & have a great experience. I've been to melting pot before but not this location. The Kennesaw location is hit or miss too but I didn't spend nearly this much there When they do the $25 specials, those are fine to attend. Valentine's dinner here was a certain bust. We had an 830 reservation & arrived at 832. Lobby was crowded with couples, and the lobby is not big. We made the 4th couple in. Another came in after us. Around 840, host finally comes over because she's been cleaning tables because I guess they had one guy to clean all the tables in the restaurant which was clearly not enough. Manager joins the host but was lost and host leaves without checking anyone in to go do whatever so the manager starts checking people in but can't figure out the right order so we're all like well they were here before me and so. So basically nobody came up front for 20 mins to notice who tf was in there. We get seated around 845 when couples for 845 reservations were coming in and so confused why they couldn't get seated Also wine bottles shown up front dusty AF so hope that's not what people order from! We get to our table & our server is beyond overwhelmed so someone else comes by to take our drinks. Server finally gets to us & is having a rough night because I guess the restaurant is overbooked, understaffed and management decided not to prep for literally the known amount of tables from their reservations. She takes our orders & every course takes forever. I think we left around 1030 or 11pm in the end. Someone came by before our first course to let us know our server had to cut up all our stuff because kitchen never prepped that day. Literally, no fine dining establishment works like this except this place. Normally, staff is calm & collected & you don't see the craziness going on behind the scenes which I don't expect to for $226 meal Food was mediocre Cuts of meat were stringy (beef) or full of cartilage (chicken) or gritty (lobster).. nothing wrong with shrimp or pasta Salad had watery dressing & barely of it with some barely ripe Roma tomatoes Cheese was good except the carrots were tiny and watery The dessert tray was the only unblemished course. It was beautiful & tons of variety & chocolate was delicious. They ran out of some sauces because they didn't prepare enough turns out and I guess decided not to make more because they only had a full restaurant even though it was an hour to closing but they did have reservations for 10pm too even though seemed like they didn't want to. Even ours when we hadn't paid yet or finished our dessert course, busser finally came through and wanted to clean up but picked up literally everything and had to think about setting back down our drinks Just annoyed because it's an expensive restaurant with the management/staff you'd find at a $20/plate chain like Applebee's, olive garden, Chiles, etc. Teenagers employed & whole team is chaotic & unprepared Won't come back here for a full meal most likely, certainly no holiday. It was a delayed celebration due to health issues and we couldn't have been more delighted with the service, food and quiet ambience. Sidney, our gracious server was wonderful. We ordered the Oktoberfest for two and drinks.The four course meal was almost too much but we just took delight in each course and feeding ourselves and each other! Sydney helped us with our selection of cheese for the first course and mixed it at our table. This was our first visit in years and it was even better than we remembered it. Melting Pot is one of very few restaurants that my whole family enjoys, and we always walk away at the end of dinner satisfied and happy. The menu has lots of options and I love the choice in number of courses. The "cooking" is fun, and I find all of the ingredients to be high quality. We usually do the Coq au vin base, which is delicious and not overly powered by wine flavor. I LOVE the tray of sauces that comes with each meal. The service is always great too. read more

This is a tale of two experiences. As long-time Melting Pot customers, this was our first visit to this location. We came to celebrate a family birthday. We arrived 15 minutes early for an 8:30pm reservation. No greeting from the hostess. We saw other customers leave who said "thank you" and "happy holidays" as they left which didn't get a look from the hostess, let alone a reply. Perhaps she was so shocked that they took her line, that she was rendered speechless. The manager came over to the hostess stand, doing his very best to not look at waiting guests or acknowledge their presence. He was disheveled and sloppy which foreshadowed so much of the evening. He grabbed the cleaning products sitting atop the hostess stand (just what you love seeing when you check-in), and scurried off. When at last we were seated at 8:50, we took in the dining room. What was once a model of romantic dining, looked tired, dull, and dated. The carpets were filthy, littered with food and trash from the day. I think the lights should be dimmed further as a last-ditch effort to create an atmosphere. Our order was taken at 9:05 pm (the time becomes important later). We did the four-course dinner for our party of 6. Our server, Quin, was friendly and attentive. Had it not been for Quin, perhaps the night would've been a complete loss. Quin was fun, knew the menu, and was on the spot with refills before you had to ask. In a day when finding people willing to work that service is often compromised, or the below-average are overcompensated out of desperation, Quin was willing to put the customer first. We were never rushed and the evening moved through at the normal Melting Pot pace. The food was very good, as always. We ordered Moscow Mules from the bar which were terribly made. We found out the bartending was out, and the manager made them which explained the poorly constructed concoction. They were undrinkable. The Wisconsin Cheddar cheese fondue, however, did not disappoint. We were brought extra pretzel bread and apples to help finish it off. The salads were tasty but small. Unless you get the 4-course meal, paying $6-$7 for an ala carte salad is not a value. We ordered our entrees - two premium steaks, two original, a shrimp, and a pacific rim. The meats and seafood were amazing as always. The standouts were the filet, the garlic pepper steak, the tuna, and the potstickers. Though, everyone loved everything. The only disappointment was that they were out of potatoes for the pots. So we got tons of mushrooms, which no one eats. But there was plenty of food. The last course was the chocolate course. We opted for pure milk chocolate, and the second one was milk chocolate and caramel. The caramel-infused chocolate was the winner, those is there really a loser between those two? Quin brought extra pound cake and rice crispy treats. At this point, my 11-year-old, whose birthday we are there to celebrate, went to wash his hands from the chocolate. When he comes out, a staff member is sitting outside the bathroom door and tells my child to "tell your family we closed at 10 pm and it is time for them to leave". First, you should not be lurking outside a bathroom to speak to a child, and second, how dare you cowardly tell a child to deliver your message. At this point, it is 11:20 pm. We ordered at 9:10 after a long delay in getting seated and our server assigned. first-timers to a Melting Pot need to know that for a full four-course dinner, you are looking at a 2-2.5 hour dining experience. No matter how fast you eat. So if the restaurant closes before diners can finish their meals, they either should take later reservations (and there was a 9pm one available, too) or they hang until customers are done as most good restaurants do. But telling a child that, is unacceptable. We told Quin who seemed genuinely shocked and embarrassed. At no point, did Quin ever make us feel rushed or shorted, rather treated us like valuable customers. Quin got an amazing tip for all the hard work. Servers at all the Melting Pots we have been to have always been solid. They work hard (lots of stuff to bring) and get burned by pots all day and night long. I'm sure they deal with rude and demanding customers. But every server we've ever encountered made the experience fun and memorable, including Quin. We had another server stop by and engage with us during the dinner and found her to be friendly as well. I wish the same could be said for the hostess, the manager, and the mystery employee lurking to deliver orders to an 11-year-old birthday boy to tell his family. I don't think we will come back to this location. It was dirty and poorly managed. Restaurants reflect the quality of management. This one conveyed a general lack of caring for the dining experience. Our bill for 6 was $365 pre-tip and only included one glass of wine. This plus a tip for a great server should come with more for management. And this (besides Quin), ultimately disappointed. read more

I've been here a few times and had great service but my experience this last time was upsetting. As a parent who's child works in the restaurant industry, this was hard to witness and can't believe managers speak to employees like this. Dinner had ended and as I was waiting for my party by the front door, I overheard a manger yell " then go make your f***ing cheese". We all heard it and felt terrible for our server and asked her if she was ok. Poor girl was on the verge of tears and when asked who was yelling at her, confirmed it was her manager. I was here last week on a double date we both ordered the Bigger Night Out. which is totally worth it!!! so much food and it all tasted great. Ok so I was nervous to go to this specific location because of the Yelp rating, but it was the closer one so we decided to try it out. I couldn't point one thing out that was wrong! Our server was so sweet. She kept our drinks full at all times. We never had to ask for anything. She was very patient with our group who had a lot to celebrate. I wish I remembered her name! We came in at 8 for a reservation and stayed until probably 11. Although we feel a bit bad for running so late, we never felt rushed at all. We did the "big night out" option and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes of all the courses. Very yummy. Definitely recommend. One thing I will point out (which another review mentioned) is that if you select to do the grill as a cooking style- be prepared to get popped/splattered with the grease as it cooks. It also takes a bit longer than your typical fondue options. On our next visit we will not do the grill again. Not bad, but why not do fondue when you have the chance? read more

This is my go to Melting Pot location in the Atlanta area. The restaurant has always been clean and the staff friendly. I went last night for the all you care to eat Cheese and Chocolate event. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to select any cheese option I wanted, and chose the Fiesta Cheese which is made with aged cheddar, Emmenthaler, beer, house-made salsa and jalapeño. I was surprised that my waitress did not bring the jalapeños on the side to add based on my tastes like they used to. I was also disappointed that no tortilla chips were served with the cheese, which as always been a staple. Upon ordering a refill of the cheese I asked my waitress about it and she said she would check. She did bring me a bowl of tortilla chips with the cheese refill, but they were all broken and not of a size that could be dipped in the cheese fondue, so I just set them aside. I was also surprised that they now sever all the vegetables and sliced apples in one bowl. I really liked it much better when the apples came separate as I would set them aside to use as a dipper with the Chocolate course. I really enjoy dipping the carrots and cauliflower in the cheese, but it did not seem as though there were as many provided as in the past (but that could be that some folks were not using them and it became wasteful). I also noticed that the tables were not being cleaned very quickly after quests had left. Not a big deal, but something different from what I've experienced here before. The time options available for these went all the way to 11pm. It was our first (and most definitely last) time trying to dine here and we were looking forward to the full experience. When we arrived we were told they were only serving cheese and chocolate and not any entrees, since the kitchen closed at 10pm. We arrived at 9:20pm. The front desk also lied and said they tried to call us, when we haven't received any calls in the last couple of days. Fix your website so you don't keep losing potential customers. Someone could book for 11pm and then show up to a closed restaurant. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

Unfortunately it was a ghost town inside. After waiting up front for about 5 minutes with no one to greet us, we walked around to the back calling out hello. Finally after making it to the kitchen a man came out. We said "hi, are you all closed?" The man, holding receipts, seemed bothered by our presence and responded with something to the effect of I'll be with you in a moment.. we walked back up front and the man did not appear for another minute. At that point, we made the decision to leave because of the uncomfortable nature of the interaction and the fact that no one else was present. Too much risk for f cross contamination with raw proteins on the table along with raw vegetables all being cooked together using same utensils etc. Not safe and food is only mediocre at best.
