As usual, a wonderful experience. We sat with very nice people! Our chef, Nate, was absolutely amazing! The restaurant has been updated and looks phenomenal! And, the best part: the food, everything was perfect!

That face is how I feel.

I was ready for a big night out. Ready for a fancy place. Had my collared shirt on. Made reservations. Drove an hour. High hopes soon crashed like a kamikaze. Parking lot is confusing and unorganized. The blue entry doors were cool. First red flag, the displayed wagyu selection for the night was carried around on a saran wrapped styrofoam plate with a green leaf and wilted flower. Um, no thanks. Food was okay. Not great. I love hibachi. Local competitors definitely have better quality food. The staff was just okay. Perhaps they have a hiring program for felons or something. The dinner prep was boring. No good music or impressive teppanyaki chef theatrics. No tossed shrimp or saki. I wouldn't say it's too clean, either. And, the real kicker, was on the bill -- $7.50 for rice. So, the rice/noodle option was NOT included in the $34 chicken dinner. Wow. Rice is like a dollar a pound! I would say, if you want to have a night out with proper attire required, and overspend on mediocre food, but appreciate a bubbling gut and a potential stop at a gas station on the way home for a colon cleanse, I recommend this location. Benihana works better than a GLP-1 without a script (unfortunately, same cost). Saga is better for sure.

It's Benihana! It's good time for family and friends year round. Facilities were clean and the wait was pretty short. We went for a Thanksgiving meal and our chef was super gracious and really entertaining. I went for the Surf and Turf one (I forget the name) and it tasted really good! We even got some Ice cream on the house as a Thanksgiving treat. The price was on the higher end of things but the food was good and I went home satiated.

Benihana was a great time and the food was excellent! I ordered the spicy chicken and my partner got the filet mignon. I liked all of the sides that came with the hibachi meal - the chicken fried rice, the veggies (mushrooms and zucchini) along with the shrimp were all so good. The fried rice was an additional $6 which I think is a bit steep, but it is definitely better than the normal steamed rice. The folks who work here are awesome and create a fun and inviting experience.

We really wanted to try the hibachi short ribs but they are online order only, which is very odd. So right off the bat, the company missed out on $20. My husband and the other 4 people at our table ordered hibachi chicken fried rice. I wanted regular steamed. They sliced only one whole piece of chicken in half to serve 5 people at an extra $6 each. In his entire portion, only found 3 tiny pieces of meat. I ordered the yakisoba trio. There was half a head of cabbage and the noodles were so thin and didn't look like anything pictured in the menu for either. They were so dry by the time they reached my plate. No "special sauce" was added. I was not offered any green tea or steamed rice, even though it came with my meal.

Reservations are highly recommended - it's on the smaller side. The menu has so many options and an amazing variety. One thing to note is this Japanese food is not like most others. Its focus is on homestyle, also fried/stir fried Japanese dishes. So do not expect Ramen or noodle soups. A couple things that are always ordered is the Kaarage, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki (best in the city), yakisoba or udon, and gyoza. The staff is so sweet and the decorations remind me of Izakaya places in larger cities. They have a bar with cool cocktails and adorable bento boxes they sell during lunch hours throughout the week. The takoyaki has a crunchy outside and a good flavor (4/5), and the okonomiyaki is pretty filling (4/5); these were the best two. The yaki-udon with shrimp was ok (3/5) but definitely expensive for what it was and the quantity; they also don't add much shrimp, despite the up charge. The sake no shioyaki was below average for salmon (2/5) and very expensive for that amount they give you. Similarly, the onigiri is almost entirely rice if you add salmon (2/5). You order on a tablet, and they bring the food out. Service was ok (3/5); we had empty waters for a while. The restaurant is well-decorated, and you can see the chefs work, which gives it an ambiance somewhat like a hibachi place (4/5). Overall, I think most of the items are pretty expensive for what they are; they don't have the quality or quantity to justify the price.
