Poor service and poor management! The food was great however the wait time was ridiculous! An hour after being seated we finally STARTED! The cook had to go back to the kitchen 3 times to get missing food, our server was overworked and someone had to ask for him. The cook asked the host "where's my server" multiple times. My husband had to leave after 3 hours and having to have his CHICKEN dinner remade. He never got to eat in the restaurant, and the server offered to comp his meal. We never asked for the meal to be comped. I wanted to pack up the food because after waiting 3 hours he was still hungry and everything on his plate needed to be rewarded except the chicken. The manager came back to the table and said if I took the chicken home I'd have to pay for it. Again, I never asked for it to be taken off. Honestly you come here for an experience and food, one without the other isn't fair! We left the restaurant around 11:25, it ruined my Sisters birthday dinner. The least the manager could have done was apologized and offered something for the wait time! read more

My husband and I took our 4 year old here tonight for his first hibachi experience, and let's just say they did NOT disappoint my Jr. Sous Chef!! Chef Richard was the creator of our dinner and not only was his food out of this world, but his service was too. His culinary skills are next level and his customer service is 10/10! Thank you for making my boy laugh and making his rice so good, that he actually ate! Haha! [We ordered the Samurai Treat and Hibachi Steak with a lobster tail] Jessica was our server and she KILLED IT! She kept a our glasses full, cleared the table when necessary, checked on us without being overwhelming and even brought Major a special dessert! The manager even made sure to come by and check on us as we were eating! I hope the tip they received reflects my appreciation for our dining experience. We dined here today for Mother's Day. There were 7 of us. It was a great, great experience. Our waitress was fantastic. I wish I caught her name, but I was not head of table. While their food is always consistent, I must say their take out process for orders is lacking. I placed an order over the phone and was told that my food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, upon my arrival, I had to wait an additional 30 minutes in order to receive my food. Came here for lunch with wife on a weekday. The restaurant had a handful of people and we were seated pretty quickly. We were 4 people seated on the table and everything was clean and the waitress really friendly and took our orders quickly. For drinks, try the following, they were awesome: $9 - Haiku Colada $5:79 - Mango Colada (non alcoholic) For food, if you are here for lunch, try the following: $15.75 - Lunch Duet with Hibachi Chicken rice. $11.00 - Hibachi Chicken lunch with rice The cook was a lil boring. This place was awful, not the Benihana I remember. It was so dirty, from the front door to the sticky table and dirty floors. Our waiter got our orders wrong and forgot our drinks. The table was way too crowded and they never cleared our plates so we just kept stacking them up. Our chef wore a mask so we couldn't understand him or hear him. Hmmmm where do I start We stopped after appointment to have dinner I informed the waitress that my boyfriend has a allergy to seafood, she tells us that she will inform the chef and that his food would be cooked first . I let him know that mine was suppose to spicy, he apologies then hands me a small cup of the spicy sauce and tells me I can put it on top of my rice .WOW Second error: he throws the seafood on the grill first WHY !!!!!!! So I say you were suppose to make his food first , he then says sorry I forgot. FORGOT HOW!!!! we just confirmed you understood less then 2 minutes ago FORGOT you could seriously injure him FORGOT his throat can close up and cut off his air way WTF Then he begins to pull all the food off the grill and wipe it down with a towel as well at the utensils . SIR this man has a allergy do you think a wet towel is going to remove the seafood you just cooked on the grill SMH So he goes to back to clean everything after I requested that he do so , cleans the grill the right way and starts to cook. Third error: the guy that was there for his birthday requested teriyaki sauce on his chicken but the cook puts the spicy sauce all over it WTF This was literally the worst experience I ever had at Benihana I request the manger and he comes out, I tell him all the issues we had even the fact that he could have put my boyfriend in the hospital Do you know he offered a discount A discount of $36 when the check was over a $100....... our entire table did not get the full experience people get. This was the first time I had been to this location, the waitress was amazing and took very good care of us. Unfortunately, the chef seemed to be in a hurry, didn't talk to us at all while he was cooking and didn't seem to put on the "entertainment" factor into his cooking. He seemed like he wanted to just get the food out and move on, he ended up plating some of my food wrong (i.e. placing shrimp on my plate even though I had ordered chicken). When looking over at other chefs at other tables they seemed to put on more of an entertaining dinner. I would rate the food average tasting as he didn't add very much seasoning, like I mentioned above-he seemed like he just wanted to present the food and move on. The overall experience was not what I was expecting from Benihanas, it was a shame because I went there for my birthday and took my parents there for the first time. I'm giving this a low rating because there was zero ventilation at out grill table. We asked two different employees to turn on the vent and they both responded that it did not work very well It did not work at all!!! Additionally I had made a reservation for 8 people (full table) for 7pm We were not seated until almost 8pm and got our first drink at almost 8.20pm. We had elderly parents with us for this bday dinner which made for too long of an evening for their comfort. The toilets had no TP in all 3 stalls nor did it have hand paper to dry room was a shambles which had clearly not seen any attention in quite some time That being said, our server was the best Teppanyaki chef we have ever had He was fun, engaging and cooked our food well he did apologize for the lack of ventilation when we commented. I love, love, love Benihana food. It's SO good :) The reason why I'm writing this review is due to our server Josh (dark, tall, and handsome gentleman with impeccable service skills). He was so accommodating and timely with our service. Our toddler was able to have a positive dining experience (which she's usually quite fussy) and we parents were able to enjoy our meal hassle free. I hate bad reviews and I would give this place a 1 star but food wise I felt was a good 3.5 to 4. Don't get me wrong like everyone was very nice and helpful but the sexist comments I recieved was not pleasant especially since it was for my birthday dinner. I came here a thursday night for a birthday dinner date with my boyfriend with full intention on buying since first off benihana has a cool system where if you sign up for thier email, on your birthday you get a 30 dollar certificate to use when you buy another full adult entree with it and secondly, my bf wanted hibachi so why not?. We were sat down in a semi loud table with another family who had a birthday going on too. I don't like too much attention so I did not say it was my birthday when they asked if there was any special occasion. Soon we got asked our drink orders then they came with our drinks and we then got to order food. What was suprising was when I asked for a happy hour menu and was told that any happy hour items we wanted to order, we would need to go to the bar. That was pretty inconvenient and I am still not sure why that was like that but okay so we decided not to order any drinks and food on the happy hour menu we weren't allowed to see unless we were at the bar... We soon ordered and ended up getting 1 steak and shrimp hibachi to share plus 2 sushi rolls because we wanted to try a bit of everything. Sushi rolls came out and they weren't bad, pretty average. Our hibachi chef came out and he was pretty funny and made our meal not too salty which was good for me but not for the family sitting at the same table since they were pouring soysauce over thier fried rice some more. Since me and my boyfriend was sharing a hibachi, the chef would split it equally whenever he cooked something. Towards the end of the meal, he made a comment saying that he was going to give more steak to my boyfriend since he must be paying for the meal. That kind of offended me but I shook it off since I am sure he meant it in a nice way. We finished our meal then got our dessert and the waitress came and asked the family if they wanted the check separate or together. Then she came to my boyfriend and asked him if he wanted it separate laughing and saying "you would lile that wouldnt you?".. feeling really offended now I just felt sick to my stomach and just overly upset. I wanted to treat my boyfriend to a nice meal since he wanted hibachi and I just wanted to celebrate my birthday but it seemed that the way all the waitressess and cooks stared at me and him, and the rude comments, made it seem like "i was out of my place to pay" and that me paying is not acceptable and useless and pointless. Honestly it is a privileged to be able to spend 50 dollars on a meal and they made it seem like it was nothing and I just left the place never wanting to go back. I really hope Benihana will talk to thier employees and make sure no one ever will feel this way because to some peoppe and couples, paying is a sensitive topic and some people don't see friendly jokes as a joke. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic here but it was offensive especially on my bday dinner and not acceptable. After I paid with my card, the waitress looked at me quickly, thanked me, and seemed to be busy snd moved away quickly. She didn't apologize and I didn't expect one but at least saying a comment like oh you paid not him would've been sufficient. I understand that some people might not see this as an issue and they might not see this as a problem at all but I just hope that they at least see that different people have different worldviews and being sensitive or aware about that would be nice. Overall, thank you benihana for the birthday certificate but I am not sure if I will ever reccomend this place again nor come because I cannot get this crushed feeling and bad ending to my dinner out of my mind. Everyone should definitely try this place out and decide if they like it or not but my stand is this and I am sad to say that it was not a positive one. read more

I'm going to stop supporting This locations. I buy lunch from here 3 times a week for almost a few weeks now on Uber Eats. When I was in the office down the street I would eat here 3 times a week. I went to get dinner with a friend and we are both Asian. We were seated next to a white family of 4 a mom her mom and 2 kids; boy and a girl. The food was fine till towards the end the manager came by and asked us how was the food and gave us to go boxes and after he left the mom told the little boy next to her that the man who just left was the manager and that means he's the boss and it's because he's white... And than she ask her two kids to put on their Benihana hat and go up for where the chefs was and put tap the chopsticks on the grille table and make mocking Asian accent for like 15 mins and it was non stop. We kept looking at her and so we got up and left and wanted to pay upfront. I'm going to let everyone know that with the ongoing Asian hate crime in Dallas Im not going to confront her. This is management jobs I go up and tell management a white lady and she just told me she was sorry and she never asked them to stop. My waitress looked so annoyed when I paid upfront instead at my table and after she took my payment she didn't even say thank you and left so fast to cater her racist white customers. You know Benihana was founded by Rocky Aoki an Japanese american who was trying to fight the stigma of racism. My husband brought the family to celebrate my bday. We haven't been here in about a year for pretty much the same reasons. We had a reservation for 7:30 but arrived 10 mins earlier. We got seated not too long after. Karina was our server. She was so inattentive and disappeared for long periods of time. Our cook didn't arrive to the table until 50 minutes after we were seated. Martin, our cook, was nice and accurate with the order. I found his food being a little less seasoned than usual but is ok. We liked it anyways. Karina refilled my daughter's sprite with water and did not ask if we needed any aditIonal refills to the specialty drinks and lemonades we had ordered. This place is worse and worse every time. The hoods were not on, therefore the steam from the tables were suffocating. All other tables got a Bday celebration but I didn't. I would hate to believe that's because we were a mix family. Imagine being in a hibachi restaurant, in Texas, without a properly working air system. Our chef was miserably hot. We were told by employees that the air has been this way for over three weeks. This place is okay. I remember it being so much cleaner, nicer and more high end in the past. Maybe it this location, I don't know. But it seemed dirty, the attention to detail was not there and Kid's finger prints and gross smears all of the doors and the glass that looked like they had been there for days. Meanwhile 4 hostess stood at the front chatting with each other instead of taking windex to clean them or disinfect anything. It looked and felt dirty inside. The place definitely needs a makeover!! Big time! The food is okay, again I also remember it being better and higher quality especially for $200 for 4 people (2 were children)!!! I don't mind paying good money for good food and awesome service, but this place didn't warrant a $200 anything although our waiter was friendly, nice and pretty quick. The guy that cooked the food was pretty morning and didn't really interact with us. At least they had a few decent wines. Takeaways: 1.) it's dirty & needs a deep clean and to constantly be cleaned, especially this day in age. 2.) it needs a makeover-it also smells in there so possibly new ventilation 3.) up your food quality or drop your prices but you can't have it both ways 4.) hire some people that seem like they want to come to work and make people happy and to have fun. 2 stars is all it gets.
