My family and I used to love going to EG Steak. The food is consistently great, and the service has always been excellent. Unfortunately, they recently stopped accepting reservations for parties larger than four. Since then, every time we've called, we're told there's no availability. It's become frustrating enough that it's taken away from what used to be a reliable go-to spot for us. What a great experience all around! They had great cuts of meat that were flavorful. The potatoes au gratin were so cheesy and delicious. I do wish there were a few more options at the salad bar. I'm don't have any pictures unfortunately, but I do remember an unforgettable time! I've never been to a steakhouse before, let alone a Brazilian one. The salad bar is served buffet style, and then, there's the meat. Once you flip your EG card over from red to green, servers come to your table and start serving you different types of meat from steak to chicken to even lamb! The server was incredibly kind and funny, explaining the process where I could understand it. The interiors of the room were pristine, classy despite all the food coming to you at once! The Harvest Table had so many tasty delicacies that melt in your mouth. The meat was delivered to our table hot, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. This is the best Brazilian steakhouse I've ever been to. It's more upscale than Fogo or Texas De Brazil with finer cuts of meat, outstanding wine selection and cocktails, and impressive service. And the au gratin potatoes were really tasty. Now the meat. I have never had such dry meat in my life. It may be a little pink on the inside, but it was so tough and dry. Everything was that way and we tried a lot. Flavorless, poorly cooked and dry dry dry. The lamb, the different kinds of steaks, all of it . Not the kind of steak you would expect at a Brazilian steakhouse that's for sure. The one thing they don't tell you here is that they're charging you for everything that you think you're getting for free or cheap. They asked us if we wanted water and we said yes. Come to find out they charge you $6.50 for a bottle of water. Did they tell you that? Nope. Who the hell charges for water?!? We said we would take a glass of the house wine which is usually the cheapest there. Do they tell you how much it is? Nope. They slap $18 on your bill for one glass of a house wine. When they explained the meal, never once did they tell you how much it was per person. Luckily we already looked that part up online. They strategically don't tell you how much everything is and will sidetrack you with fake flattery so you don't ask. It's really obvious. But again, who the hell charges for water. And we're not talking sparkling water, just plain old flat water. The pineapple is really good though. A few weeks ago, Mom and I went to Bavette Grill for the first time and loved everything about it. I tried the BVT Steak and Fries and it was truly phenomenal- one of the most succulent and tender cuts of meat I have ever had. I understand that Bavette Grill has the same owners as EG Steak, so, naturally, we decided to reserve a table and give it a try. I made an OpenTable Reservation a few weeks in advance for Lunch on the afternoon of 7/19/24. We were immediately greeted by Giselle. Since we arrived a tad early, she offered us a seat in the comfortable, well-appointed lobby. We were then led through a beautifully illuminated dining space where we were seated by Odi and served by Caesar. As first-time visitors, we were impressed by the food, service, and ambiance. The salad bar offers an array of meats, cheeses, and greens. The Potato Salad, Manchego Cheese, and Brown Sugar Black Pepper Bacon were the most noteworthy. It is easy to get overwhelmed, so the best advice I can give is to pace yourself. We enjoyed our gastronomic adventure through Brazil. From start to finish, Caesar made sure we had everything we needed, and checked on us every now and then throughout our meal. He even brought out a special hot sauce and chimichurri sauce to accompany the meats that we would soon enjoy tableside. We enjoyed Pao De Queijo, Brown Sugar Black Pepper Bacon, Fried Polenta, Cheese with Honey, Manchego Cheese, Tomato Caprese, Pesto Chicken Pasta, Potato Salad, Bacon-Wrapped Chicken(not pictured), Picanha(not pictured), Spicy Picanha, Brazilian Sausage(not pictured), and Fraldinha. All excellent! Make sure to save room for Grilled Pineapple and Fried Bananas as well. The Capirinhas were delicate in flavor and packed a delightful punch to the taste buds. Clearly, only the freshest ingredients are used in its preparation. The Gauchos were spaced in well-timed intervals and gave us time to enjoy our sliced meats before serving and enjoying another cut. Everyone we encountered was attentive, courteous, polite, always willing to answer questions about their offerings, receptive to our needs, and displayed a professional work ethic. We split the Strawberry Cheesecake for Dessert. David came around after our meal and offered us after dinner drinks - Mom reluctantly but politely declined as she was full, and I chose the Vin de Constance. Sweet with a smooth finish, it was the ideal way to end a meal. We have been to three other restaurants of this caliber and ultimately found that EG Steak has the quality we are looking for. This is my second time around EG steak! I love coming here for a good Brazilian Steakhouse restaurant. Ambiance: There is medium to dim lighting and there is plenty of tables and chairs. You can also make a reservation online. There is a mid talking level from customers. There is not set attire so customers range from casual to dress attire. Service: The people carrying the meat can be pushy at times but the waiter was super nice. He constantly checked up on our table and was extremely accommodating. He constantly asked me what type of meat I wanted and offered me different drinks. Meat: The steaks here are all around pretty good. There is a large selection of different types but my favorites are the House Piccana and filet mignon paired with grilled pineapple. Sides/Salad bar: The sides are awesome! There is plenty of options to choose from ranging from cheeses, to meats, to fruit, to salad to soups. There is plenty of great choices and it is constantly restocked! The Gauchos are very amazing and polite too. When my family members ask for a certain level of doneness, they always comeback with our request with no fuss whatsoever, I feel like they are really care that their customers enjoy their meal and wants have to have a good experience. We've been coming here for years and often as big groups. I noticed the last 2 visits just haven't been the same. They have changed the meats for sure. The quality is just not there. There is an excessive amount of fat on the meats , it definitely not like before. My favorite item here of all is the chicken salad and today the chicken salad was raisins and mayonnaise They have put so many raisins that you cannot taste anything else. Being that this is the second time in a row, I've been there and I have not enjoyed my dinner, it's time to take a break from here. I will definitely say, though the service is impeccable. The quality of meats were pretty good. Our favorite was the spicy Picanha. It was juicy and tender. The regular picanha was also very good. The flank steak was kinda dry. The reason we repeat offenders here is due to some seriously phenomenal customer service from Catherine/Bryan/Watson. These three deserve a on a name-basis call out because they truly go above and beyond! Catherine is a server and she's extremely friendly and never leaves you with your beverage empty or your bread empty! Bryan and Watson are the meat guys! They always make sure the meat you want comes out and at the temperature you want it. Visited EG for our anniversary dinner, because we'd been here for a previous anniversary and had a great experience. Not so much this time. :-( To their credit, their service is still outstanding and the food was very flavorful, although the sides were served lukewarm. We had let them know it was our anniversary, and they left a nice card on the table for us. However, my wife found a hair in one of her cuts of meat that she's pretty sure wasn't hers. She also bit into one of her meat selection and hit something hard....I heard the crunch from across the table. She was concerned she'd broken a tooth, and was afraid to eat any more. She tried to find the object to no avail, but I know it was there....as I said, I heard a loud crunch. As for me, I was enjoying the meal but was overcome with...intestinal distress that sent me to the restroom before I left the restaurant and again before we even made it home. I'm not prone to food allergies and usually have the digestion of a goat (retired military), so I'm fairly certain it was something I ate there. Anyway, that ended my enjoyment of the dinner. Now, this is BRAZILIAN STEAKHOUSE! Treated out to Sunday lunch with our dear friends, we were introduced to this AMAZING place. E.G. located on 121 in Frisco, is the stuff, steak dreams are made of! White linen tablecloths and classic covers of popular pop music set the tone for a dining experience to be remembered. The buffet style salad bar ALONE is more than enough to satisfy cravings! Spinach/Walnut Salad and Yogurt Poppyseed Dressing, Marinated Beets, Creamy Whipped Mash Potatoes(YES!!! The salad bar has hot items too!) Stroganoff, Caprese Salad, See through slices of aged Prosciutto, just to name a few.(All this, and we hadn't even made it to the table yet!!!) Once seated, we were introduced to Sergio, the key element, to our dining experience. When I tell you Sergio was about his BUSINESS? Sergio missed nothing! First, he explained how E.G. worked for our dining pleasures, making sure that our experience was UNMATCHED! Fresh Spicy Salsa, Chimichurri, and Horseradish Sauce adorned the table to accompany the delights that were yet to come. Pao de Queijo(Brailzian Cheese Bread) straight from the oven tickled our sense in aroma and taste. Pan-Fried Polenta with Fresh grated Parmesan, Pomme Frites(fancy French fries worthy of the name upgrade) Roasted Bananas...(Note: I haven't even got to the passed entrees yet! I had to pump my breaks, ya'll I was almost FULL). Finally, I turned my coaster to green and the dance of meat began! A dizzying array of Chefs with delectable cuts of steak, chicken, lamb, and HONEY, YOU NAME IT, gyred about us. Picanha sprinkled with course Sea Salt, Lamb Chops, Beef Ribs, Linguica sausage spiked with Paprika and Garlic, Mahi Mahi, and honestly the BEST Bacon Wrapped Chicken I have EVER HAD! So basic, but so exquisitely executed. Sergio made sure that we missed NOTHING in our culinary journey. And the DESSERT!(Excuse me while I weep) It was a communal experience. Hubby and I went with the Creme Brulee Cheesecake. Sergio shows up to the table with this WALL wedge of a cheesecake enrobed in demerara sugar with a side of Vanilla Ice Cream. He then begins to pour Fireball Whiskey into a sifter and lights it on fire! As he swirls the contents in the glass, the aroma of cinnamon and burnt oak enraptures us. Slowly, he begins to flambe the cheesecake, transforming it into the unmatched decadents that makes the classic Brulee! Then, he tops it with the ice cream! Swoon!!!! As we cracked the warm, caramelized exterior, the true reward came forth, THE CHEESECAKE! Ideal contrast to it's exterior, it was rich and unchaste, with Vanilla and Mascapone. Balanced between the oaky cinnamon of the torched Fireball and the sweetness of the ice cream, the flavors were almost obscene! My girlfriend had the Chocolate Mousse Cake, which was nothing to turn your nose up at!. It is a go to to our family and our kids always asks to go there in their birthdays. The meats are so tender and delicious. I would recommend the garlic picanha, lamb chops, and the butter melting beef ribs. The buffet is always fresh and full with many yummy salads.
