I mean the health department should be contacted immediately.Being an ex manager of Benihana I would never in my life have a Togo cashier make rice 15 mins before "finding a chef" to prepare the actually meat .So when I brung it to her attention that the rice has been sitting and is no longer hot she literally dumps the rice in front of me back in the container.No the next guest are about to have cold stale rice .Mind u I asked for new rice because that rice was sitting .for 15 mins . End of an Era.... I think it' time to move on and explore other restaurants. We came the Monday after Valentines and had several issues with dinner. The waitress forgot to serve the soup and salad but because we ordered 2 sushi rolls for my kids and calamari we didn't realize it until the meal was being served. The chef cooked EVERYTHING all at once which meant nothing was cooked correctly. The seafood and the $60 chateaubriand was way overcooked. It was so salty I could't stand to eat the leftovers and trashed it. Just ungodly awful, all around. The seafood was tough. and paying $40 for 2 glasses of Kendall Jackson when the entire bottle costs $10 is really hard to justify. Most of the food is filler food, rice, zucchini, salad, soup, and less than 6 oz of meat... I just can't justify spending $300 for this anymore. At least cook the food so that it's delicious! And the waitress even had attitude about why she forgot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This was on a slow Monday not a busy Friday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Didn't appreciate that snarkiness as the cherry on a dismal dinner experience. This location seems to have lost touch over time. I was in the area on an early evening and decided to order an onion soup and shrimp friend rice to go. In past years Benihana was been my fave place to get either dish. This time I ordered through yelp / grub hub pick up. Although these are pre-made dishes and side dish appetizers and although Tim picking up myself. It originally told me it wouldn't be available until 45-60min from time I place my order. I really wish I could get that update prior to ordering because I had no intentions on the area that long o thought that would Be a quick easy pick up as I headed out. I called to see if I could get it early, no answer. I called the grub hub he'll system they are not sure how that timing is calculated and assumed that the company was very busy at the time. They put me on hold to call the company meanwhile I drove to the place and waited and pick up Lane. I checked my phone again and suddenly the pick up time was updated but it was still rather lengthy for food that is already cooked. The grub hub rep came back to the line until me and her that they would have it ready much quicker so I waited for it outside and it did come much quicker than the original estimate of up to an hour. When I got my food home I just simply was not impressed I think my dish only had about three small shrimp. As for my onion soup, what a small container of fixings it simply was not enough that container could not even fit a single mushroom and I am accustomed to having a good amount of mushrooms in the soup. I was very dissatisfied. I am only giving two stars because they did bring the food out sooner than their original estimate. read more

I had a good time at this location. I brought my mom here for her birthday coupon. We're use to the Westheimer location and I feel that restaurant is a bit more spacious than the one we are at. Visually, from what I saw, it seemed there was less seating- though I did like the waiting area in the front. I did see another reviewer posted they had to eat on the table in the waiting area. I didn't see that during my experience, but when it gets busy, you will see many Hibachi cooks entertaining at the same time, which slightly takes away from the experience. The food quality as always was great. I don't suggest eating at the end of the table, because you see less of the performance, so to speak, and I feel that wasn't an issue at the Benihana in Westheimer. Another major difference is that this Benihana in Sugarland, the people joining your table would keep to themselves. At Westheimer, it just seemed everyone greeted everyone else at minimum and chatted with you briefly, while giving you enough private dining time with the party you arrived with. I keep forgetting it's easy to lose anywhere between an hour and a half to two hours at Benihana, especially if you have to wait a little bit to be seated. Even with it getting busy, the servers were attentive, and the crowd at Sugarland was friendly, especially the table behind me who was encouraging that cook as he was overly nervous and made two mistake breaking eggs by accident and not managing to get the shrimp into his hat. I felt bad for the guy too, but was happy to see his table treated him well. That could have gone very terribly. With a little encouragement even the worst cook performers will start to do better. I'd come back, but I'd keep in mind to keep my calendar open just in case I had a tight schedule that day. read more

They will almost always recommend something and anything we've ever tried has always been so good. Their filet mignon is always so moist and can melt in your mouth. And the chefs!
