I have been coming to Benihana for 30 years. The lunch special has been a favorite. This time the food was just mid. The price has gone up considerably from around $15 to $27. They shorted my first portion of chicken hibachi rice but made up for it by giving me a full portion from the to-go area. All of the portions seem smaller. Parking is plentiful but if you want the prime location parking (directly in front of the entrance) good luck. For starters, this is a very POPULAR venue for birthdays. Throughout the whole evening they were singing Happy Birthday to multiple tables. It was entertaining and eye-opening to how many people's birthdays there were in that area. The price point here is very affordable for five and six course meals. I feel that the ambiance is outdated and that there should be a refresh but that's just my personal opinion. Edgar was our Hibachi Specialist Destiny was our server Both were helpful and knowledgeable but I have my gripes. Edgar served very unseasoned fried rice to us. I absolutely love fried rice! So I know for sure that it generally comes with a taste. I'm not sure if that's what was expected and we were supposed to season to our liking but I didn't like that. I felt that he did a great job of reading us our order but still made mistakes even after clarifying our orders. Everything else prepared by Edgar was phenomenal. The zucchini, the steak, the chicken, the onions, and his presentation was all up to par it was only the fried rice. Destiny was helpful as well, I just wished she would have let us know we were going to be charged for fried rice. That might have saved me the disappointment. Went to Benihana to celebrate my husbands birthday yesterday and the food was amazing! I had the Spicy chicken and friend rice and it was delicious! Elias who was our cook was amazing! He was making jokes and you can tell he knows what he is doing! My in laws and husband loved their plates as well. I will say though that this location looks a bit outdated. My 10yr old grandson absolutely loved his steak, the 15 month old loves the sautéed onions and vegetables. I had leftover lobster, rice and the ginger sauce.
