I'm not gonna say this is the best pizza place, but it's not the worst. Salads aren't bad, especially the Bennedito's Salad Primo. It's actually delicious, just make sure you bring or ask for a large bowl to toss it in, cause all the toppings are on the bottom. And no matter how many times you try to stir it with the tongs, you still end up with more lettuce on top. The pizzas OK. I like the large size pepperoni, though I'm not the biggest fan of their red sauce. Also, the beer buddies are OK, again, not the biggest fan of their red sauce, especially when it is cold. Red sauce should not ever be served cold. The calzones aren't bad either. Though you tend to have a lot of bread and not as many toppings inside as I would prefer. And being nitpicky, I can't stand the dollar store silverware that they use. The service is not always that great either. As I have said, in other posts, one should never have to ask for more water. Especially when the establishment is not busy. I am more inclined to return for their salads than the pizza. See for yourself. read more

We needed something to deliver late to the Shriners Hospital. I'm glad this was the first thing we chose. First night was a Pepperoni, Sausage, and Pineapple pizza. (Yes, pineapple DOES go on pizza.) Nice big chunks. A big greasy but that lubes up the arteries so nothing sticks to them later on in life. The second night we decided to give it a go again for something other than pizza. The spaghetti was a steal for the price. Easily 2 meals (or more). Sauce was chunky with lots of meat, mushrooms, and other veggies. If you want enough for just one meal... perhaps try the kids plate? Next up was the "Italian Beef" Sammie. Now I originally come from Chicago and know a good Italian Beef. This isn't your traditional Italian Beef. It's more of a hybrid with a Philly Cheesesteak. Nevertheless I think I found a new favorite way to make a Philly. Bread was on perfectly toasted garlic bread. LOTS of cheese. Red onions and green peppers were cooked perfectly. If I ever end up back in town, this is a must have. See the attached photo... the portion is pretty big. Ordered the "whole" and only ate the half that is pictured. Looks like we both have lunch tomorrow! Finally we ended up with some Pizza Bread that we weren't expecting. Not sure if it was supposed to come with the spaghetti or just because. Either way, not complaining! Simple pizza crust, olive oil, and a good portion of Parmesan cheese. Great flavor, especially dunked in some red sauce. I can't leave out the delivery driver. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately went away thinking that I have had better pizza at other places, Yes, better than most chains (but not all). First, to me the two most important parts of a pizza is the dough and the sauce. Here, they add butter to the flour mix - which is fine if you want more of a "biscuit" texture but it wasn't quite what I had in mind as a pizza crust. The tomato base was hardly even noticed and that was the bigger disappointment. I didn't taste that tomatoey flavor fused with oregano and thyme, etc. And, secondly, I have always found that most "Italian" foods - pizza, lasagna, etc. - seem even better the next day, right? You know, the various herbs and spices seem to blend in more after being cooked/baked. No, this wasn't any better. I've been ordering pizza from Bennidito's for many years. They have now lost my business for good. I ordered a pizza for delivery through their website as I usually do. Waited for over an hour. Finally called them and they tell me that I'm out of their delivery range! I've been getting pizzas delivered by them for years and they are only 3miles from my home! I have loved Bennidtos over the years, but I have been disappointed a few times over the last three months or so. During Covid I wanted to support local business by ordering take out. I didn't complain when We got two pizzas in a row with burnt crust or another time when we went to pick our order up and our order had been lost. Then last Friday I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and black olives for pick up. When we opened the box at home we noticed there was no pepperoni. So I decided this time to call to communicate the mistake in our order. Honestly, I wasn't looking for a refund but Thought maybe a free one next time or even discount on a future pizza at least. But instead offered $2.61 for a refund for no pepperoni:/ it is kind of a bummer since we live blocks away but we will likely think twice before going back. read more

Would not recommend. Very expensive for only average pizza. Wait time was far too long. Waitress was nice, not her fault that it took so long (I hope... perhaps the order took a while to get to the kitchen...?) Regardless, pizza was only average. Medium was $25. A medium. Give me a break. Toppings were meh and I wasn't a fan of many of their specialty pizzas. Ended up getting two to split between four people. Not enough food, somehow $25 would not cover per two people. Also got an appetizer. All told it was $80 total for two medium pizzas and an appetizer when taxes, tip, etc were factored in. Tonight was so bad, I actually started to drive to the restaurant to complain, in person, about the food delivery I had, and the crappy way I was treated over the phone when I called to ask for a refund. There's the bag my food arrived in, and there's what I salvaged from the floor when the container slipped through the bag. It was a mess. And the order wasn't complete. Ordered a large pesto pizza. The photos made me think it was going to be pomodoro style, puffy wood fired crust with more spare toppings. Not in love with the style but wanted a pizza. What I got was a large, heavy, dense, rich pizza. Benneditos used a good amount of olive oil and garlic for the base, alot of the cheese and a very nice amount of pesto. What stood out was they roasted the red peppers themselves; they weren't just the wet ones out of a jar. The extra effort paid off in taste and texture and paired well with the slightly charred crust. The crust was thicker than I like but was probably needed to stand up to the toppings and they don't pretend to be East Coast pizza. Pizza boxes ruin crusts so I think if I ordered in store the crust would be more crispy. I don't have the metabolism for alot of bread and foods with even a good deal of healthy fat like this pie, but still, I'm a fair sized guy and one large slice filled me to the point that I knew if I ate two I would be unhappy. A slice and a salad would make a great lunch. Tastes good cold, too. This pizza could feed 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids, probably with leftovers. Initially I balked at a $28 pizza but now it seems like a good deal. I think I will go for the greek next time. Tonight we ordered our pizza as we usually do and half without the cheese. We received 1/2 of our pizza and the other half cheese only. We called them to ask if they could remake it or make one with out cheese but all of the toppings, the kitchen was closing so we asked if we could pick it up the next day for dinner trying to be understanding of their time and closing. They hung up on us and then put us on hold when we called back again. The owner was sitting at the bar when I picked up about five minutes earlier, and since it was during COVID19 Stay at Home and carry out only, there was no one else in the restaurant. Customer service seems to be a constant struggle with this restaurant. Every time I would go to pick up my pizza I would be waiting at the counter forever till basically every other person in the place had been helped. Most of the time my pizza was cool if not cold by the time I'd get rung up. My husband won't get the Hawaiian pizza here anymore because they just dump out a pile of soupy pineapple all over it. Wow, we had a crazy horrible experience ordering delivery from Bennidito's recently. We placed a delivery order at 8pm for a few pizzas, some breadsticks, etc. The order arrived over an hour later. When we started handing out the order we discovered that several items were missing. We called Bennidito's back at about 9:15 to make them aware of the mistake and ask them to send out the missing items. They told us that they'd deduct the missing items from the original order and place a new order for the same items. An hour and a half later the new order hadn't showed up, so we called the restaurant. We were told that the register had closed so they couldn't place a new order. So no food, no phone call to let us know there would be no food. We were furious! Our daughter is fuming because she never got the food she ordered and has been sitting around hungry for hours. Even better, we were charged for the full order! No credit for the missing items, no apology, nothing! I called the next day to get a refund and the person on the phone said that he couldn't do refunds for previous days' orders, and asked me to call back and talk to the manager on Monday. No offer to take down details, process a refund, and call us back to confirm. I tried calling several times during the following week but never seemed to track down the manager. I'm going to have to contact my credit card company to decline the charge. What a nightmare! Needless to say, I'll never be ordering from Bennedito's again. BTW: The food was crap too. read more

Let me first state that there are reasons to go to Benniditto's. Those reasons are the GREAT beer buddies, and the GOOD pizza/calzones. Seriously though, those beer buddies are to die for, and you must try the pesto dip with them. I hate pesto, and these blew my socks off. Now that we got the reasons to go to Benniditto's out of the way, here are some of the things you should not go for: 1) Beer. Their beer is probably one of the most terrible beers that I have had in Spokane. Now, as a beer aficionado, it could be that they are still in the learning stage (I really hope this is true) and switched sizes/systems recently. Out of the paddle of all their beers, there may have been one drinkable one. In a place like Spokane where great breweries are rampant, skip this one in favor of another. 2) Service. At both the Sprague and their South Hill location the service is so poor it borders on ineptitude. Numerous times (those beer buddies bring me back) I have gotten such poor service that I think part of the training must be how to be bad, and not care. While talking to many of my friends that have been, this has been a central theme to all of our experiences there... Benniditio's is loved by the Spokane crowd; they even won the Inlander's Best Pizza award this year. So we decided that we would stroll around Manito Park and then try them out for a casual pizza dinner. We started off with the much raved about beer buddies - plain pizza dough cut into small bite-sized sections, brushed with butter (I was told it was olive oil, but we all agreed that it was butter, there were butter fat solids plainly vissible) and topped with commercial parmesan cheese (think Kraft in a can cheese). The concept is good; but the dough, the highlight of the appetizer was tasteless. We had 2 hungry teenagers and two adults present when this appetizer arrived, it did not get finished, we each ate about 1 or 2 and kind of shrugged our shoulders. The only flavor outside of fat, and salt from the commercial cheese came from the sauces. We figured they were called beer buddies because after about 5 beers you just don't care what you eat. For dinner we had one salad two medium pizzas, one calzone and a salad. We will start off with the extreme culinary disaster - the calzone was the worst calzone everyone at the table had ever had. That's bad. It was made horribly and looked terrible, overcooked crust, paper thin on the top while soggy and undercooked on the bottom. The appearance of it was a turnoff, but looks can be deceiving. In this case though, they weren't. The flavors inside were just off, we all tried one bite and we all pushed it to the back of the table - YUCK. The pizza that I and the oldest teenager were eagerly awaiting for was the Benniditos original pesto. I am a pesto fanatic, many times just eating my home-made pesto on crackers for a snack. Ever have basil ice cream - yum I love it. I make pesto pizzas all the time at home, pure delight. But what arrived at our table resembled more like the Exxon Valdez oil tanker disaster. My wife's comment was "That's sick, you guys aren't going to eat that are you?" The pesto they used appeared to be mostly oil so the whole pie was covered in a layer of unappetizing green olive oil, when we removed the first slice it was like breaking a dam. The oil came cascading off the pizza to fill the now vacant slice area. It took about 12-15 napkins to soak up half the oil but the damage had been done because the bottom of the pizza crust had soaked up the other half. The excessive oil had ruined this pie, it wasn't finished by us, you could only take 1 or 2 slices of this heart attack on a plate pie, however it had potential, I liked the addition of the ricotta cheese on it although nobody could pick out the flavor of fontina, I think the oil and pest overpowered it. The only pizza that got devoured was the mowie wowie, in this case the fontina cheese was very prevalent and a great addition, I also make my Hawaiian style pizza with prosciutto, the saltiness of the ham compliments the sweetness of the pineapple very well. The only problem with this pizza was the tasteless dough that had a large amount of raw flour caked onto the bottom. When we were there all pizzas were rolled and but not hand tossed. Hand tossing helps to knock off any excess flour, then the oven floor should be dusted with cornmeal to prevent sticking in the oven, there was no cornmeal evident on our pizzas, hence why they use the flour, but that is wrong. The highlight of the meal was the salad, which was a good size and value for the money. Lots of fresh greens and toppings and they did have a nice selection of beer on tap. And a special shout out does go to the server there, they were very busy while we were there and she was handling the whole restaurant by herself and doing a great job. In the end we left with an uneaten calzone, some beer buddies and half of a medium pesto pizza, we stopped by an ice cream store for dessert and when we got home the boys cooked themselves some more dinner. The moral of the story is, if pizza and calzones go uneaten by teenagers you know you have problems. I always say that customer service can ruin a place for a customer and I really liked Bennidito's just see my previous review. We stopped in today after hubs and kiddo got haircuts next door. We were excited for some good pizza. Mind you this is the first time I've eaten here, usually we get it to go. Upon walking in the server didn't greet right away she was cleaning tables so I asked her if I there were menus on the host stand I could grab and she said she would grab them. We just sat ourselves in a booth and looked at the menus. Her tone was full of attitude but I just brushed it aside at that moment. Things with her did not get better she was borderline rude! My hubby got up to ask her for extra napkins and more olives on the side and she was behind the counter just ignoring him so he returned to sit and she (even though) saw him standing at the counter never came to ask if he had needed anything. After awhile I got up and asked her and her eyes most definitely rolled when I asked for the extra olives and she asked "black?" I said "no Kalmata unless they are the same for you" and she rolled her eyes and said, "uh no they aren't the same olive." Uhm ok... I didn't bother to respond to her but she isn't just rude for no apparent reason she is borderline a b**** I never got her name as it was never offered and on the receipt is just a server number, but I did take a pic. My advice I'd go when this lady is not working. I won't be back there are enough awesome pizza places in Spokane that I don't need to be treated that way with my family! Ordered spaghetti and meatballs and breadsticks (wife and I). 20 minutes later we get mostly uncooked breadsticks. 20 minutes after that we get cold spaghetti and meatballs with a large platter of "pizza bread". We did know we would get this giant-sized side order or we would not have ordered the breadsticks. The waitress did not tell us these came with the pasta until she ploped them down on top of the so-called breadsticks. She dashed off. When we finally got her attention to raise our concerns she left the cold entre and half-cooked breadsticks on the table and said it would only take a minute to get a hot fresh entre. Off she dashed. With no new food after another 15 minutes we told her to forget it! She said the "dinner" was on the house -- how nice of her! Pizza was 3.5 stars and I usually round up but the service was horrid so I rounded down and deducted a star. The toppings, cheese, and sauce were all good. The crust I was pretty indifferent on. I like a crackly crisp crust or a deep dish that is oily and doughy. This crust just missed the mark, but not by much. As to the service after milling around at the front server kiosk for a while and being repeatedly passed by servers we finally just sat down. After sitting down we were ignored for another 5 minutes (the one server for outside seemed overly busy) so we went and took menus. Now 30 minutes in and no one has spoken to use. We went in and asked if we ordered inside or if someone came to our table. They rudely and abruptly told us it was like any restaurant someone would come to our table. If I didn't want to avoid cooking I would have left. But the pizza was decent so I guess it was okay that the waitress never refilled our cups. It was a nice walking distance from my house and I would probably go here regularly if the service had even been average.
