Bread is excellent. Worth the extra effort to get their Bennie's rolls to jazz up your sandwiches. Slightly crispy on the outside with soft, but not chewy inside. Tiramisu is also excellent. I've been to Bennie's several times now for different things and the consistency and quality are so good that it deserves a solid five stars. Their rolls are always excellent and are actually used at some of the restaurants on the island. This morning we had their bagels. Limited variety but fantastic. And tonight we had their pizza which is something new. Some might quaff at the size (it's a 12" pie) but man were they good. The price was not bad either. read more

I really like this place for the atmosphere and friendly service, however I was disappointed with the pizzas and pepperoni and cheese bread. They were both light on cheese and flavor. I was really hoping that the pepperoni and cheese bread was more like a calzone or a Stromboli in terms of content but it was really more like a rolled bread with pieces of pepperoni inside- not sure I even tasted cheese. My wife did like the California pizza, which is a light option, so we will probably return to try other things. The rolls and sweets look amazing, though we did not try them. Wanted to expand our palate beyond Ward's, Dot's and boardwalk food - delightful Italian bakery - the tomato pie was fabulous and fresh, semolina bread was yummy, scones and muffins were a delight. Brick oven pizza was good but cold when I arrived to pick up. Got the Tomatoe pie which was also cold and way to sweet. Place is clean and inviting but the staff were not that helpful. Maybe they were just off their game today. In the end the pizza was better than Mancos so I guess if you know decent pie and want better than what you can get on the boardwalk this is your kinda place. read more

AMAZING! We ordered lunch and sat outside on the umbrella covered tables. The roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and Italian tuna sandwich were a 10. Freshly baked bread and the highest quality ingredients shined through in both specials. There is a wonderful selection of hot and cold delights. Even the dessert were worth the calories. Delicious chocolate chip cookie with wonderful caramelization on the outside and perfectly gooey on the inside. This place is a must try!! read more

The location on the corner is nice and large. I never saw the other one though. The bread is great can't beat it for freshness. Also the pizza is amazing too. It's a little pricey but quality matters and the area doesn't have too much competition. Staff has always been nice when I've been in there. They do want to rush you a long but I get it. read more

Stopped in this morning to get some rolls to make some sandwiches for lunch. Got short rolls and hoagie rolls to taste the difference. The outside crusts are nice and crusty while the inside were soft. I will always go here for rolls from now on. My family loved them! The staff were very nice and the store is kept nice and clean. Amazing fresh perfectly baked breads. Meatball parm sandwich was slightly above average. Margherita pizza is delicious. Wife ordered gluten free pizza with sausage. Tasty but crust on half of pie was mostly burned. Overall glad we tried it, most likely will return. read more

Service time to receive food is slow. Called and ordered a pizza for the first time here and pasta salad at 6pm. Told 10 minutes to pick up. Arrived at 6:15 and then waited another 25+ minutes inside for the pizza. Really unacceptable. They gave me complimentary Tiramisu "for the wait." Very tasty sandwiches. I had the special - it was a chicken cutlet with artichoke, grilled onions, pecorino cheese and balsamic. Delicious! And my sons loved their meatball sandwich and mozzarella/tomato sandwich. My husband had fresh sardines and ate some of our leftovers. :) Big portions but they will make them smaller for the kids, which was nice of them. Great bread. Nice atmosphere. Go and try it out. We have dined here on multiple occasions and have never been unsatisfied. The food is of high quality. We have sampled the eggplant pram, meatballs, pizza and grilled veggies. This is authentic Italian folks. The decor is charming and staff attentive. It is definitely an establishment you will frequent during your OC stay. Delicious baked goods! The Tomato pie was very good...sweet tomato and basil with a sprinkle of cheese. The bread had nice crust and great texture. The blueberry scone is a keeper. Amazing place! Never disappoints. The food is always delicious and fresh. The workers are friendly and are on top of each order. Bagels are delicious, they taste like New York bagels (which in my opinion, is hard to find). Muffins are fresh and always good. The only downside is it usually gets pretty crowded so sometimes the order takes a little while to get, however you can tell the workers try the hardest to get orders out asap, and either way the food is 100% worth the wait. read more
