Forest Hills Pizzeria has become my go to pizza place in the neighborhood. Not only do I think they have a great plain slice but they have a variety of specialty slices that no other place has been able to serve. The plain slice is well above average for NYC not just in the neighborhood. The specialty slices I've had have all been really good. The location is fantastic and the prices are beyond reasonable. For some reason they haven't received the credit they deserve but to me it's to date the best traditional neighborhood slice joint. read more

A friend brought a pie over for dinner from this new pizzeria, at least it's new to us. We got a margarita pizza with beef sausage. We noticed there were no pork products here. They have beef sausage, Turkey bacon, and chicken. The pizza was thin and had a nice crunch. The sauce was slightly tangy with plenty of cheese and sausage. The fresh basil added a layer of texture, color and flavor. They also brought some spinach rolls. read more

So thrilled there is a pizzeria in the historical station square of Forest Hills, Queens - NYC. I absolutely love how spacious this restaurant is. And they have a large selection of toppings. I'd totally enjoyed their chicken roll. It's super tasty with lots of meat and the sauce tastes pretty nicely. The prices come across affordable. They also have a diverse selection of gelato. Unfortunately, this new shop left me relatively disappointed. The regular slice was okay, but the sauce lacked flavor and the crust was a bit too hard. The grandma slice had a better crust, but once again, terrible sauce for something that should be garlicky and delicious. The guys behind the counter did ask if I would like some basil and freshly grated Parmesan on my two slices, which was a nice touch. Space was dark and somewhat boring. Menu was on the tv screens, but it was hard to read with letters that were way too small. With better pizza just a couple blocks down the road, I just can't see myself coming back here regularly. read more

Love that this spot is in between the residential area and right off of the commercial strip, close to all transportation. We've tried it twice so far: once during the initial week or two when the AC wasn't installed yet and recently a few days ago after the AC was in. Both times were good yet different. Like many others have noted, ordering is a bit dysfunctional as you need to go straight in to see what slices they have then return to the front to place the order. I would recommend they move the cashier area, perhaps, next to the space by the bathroom. Probably too dim but it would keep the line moving in order. The pizza has a nice crunch and chew to it. We tried multiple slices: grandma, plain, pepperoni, chicken turkey bacon ranch, caprese. Also tried their garlic knots and chicken roll. The first time, the food was great. I think it was one of the main managers or owner who was involved with making the pizza. The second time, I believe they had a new person making pizza. It was good but not quite there. The pepperoni slice didn't feel it had that nice, slightly charred bottom. The garlic knots are a good deal - two big ones for $1. If you like Dante's garlic knots, then these will just be okay for you. But what a good deal! We got 6 items for $26 so I would say it's a pretty good meal. There are several tables in the back for quick dining. Small bathroom in the front. Can't complain - there's always room for improvement. Happy to have this establishment here and look forward to their expanded menu soon. read more

It was getting close to dinner time and since this was in the area I was in, I wanted to give it a try. I must say the best thing I like about this pizza is the crust. I had a plain and pepperoni slice which was ok but the crust was fantastic. They have so many different pies here so it's an adventure to find which one you want to try first. My friend actually put me on to this spot. We usually go to Austin pizza, however he wanted me to try Forest Hills pizzeria. Since the first time I entered the shop , I haven't stopped going back. I was so hungry after the gym and got spicy penne alla vodka and garlic knots. It was so tasty, fresh,beautifully creamy, spicy , and they put mushrooms for me :) the garlic knots were delicious and this meal was atleast less than $20. On other occasions I've gotten the supreme pizza slice and honestly it's my fave! It's always good. My friend got the other three slices in my photo because he knows this place has delicious pizza! I've also had a house salad from them and it was a great salad and very affordable. I like that this pizzeria has more than just pizza. I will definitely continue to keep going to Forest Hills pizzeria. I like that they have a lot of seating as well as some TVs and good ass old school music playing! We ordered pizza for delivery. Classic pizza. We were told about 30 minutes for delivery. It was more like 45 minutes. When we called we asked what the total price would be, $22 plus tax. When the pizza arrived it was $28. How do we get from $22 plus tax to $28. There's a delivery fee which they never told us, $4.99. The pizza arrived cold and in my opinion it was over cooked. Staff is very friendly, they greet you as soon as you walk in. Plenty of indoor seating. This is the place to go if you're a fan of thin, crunch pizza crust. I tried the buffalo chicken (10/10) and the eggplant parm (4/10). Make sure you bring cash - it's cheaper. Came several days ago to give it a try. I ordered a pie with three toppings. To start off with, the staff were very nice. Now a few points I want to make clear. It took me a while to get home, so the pizza was cold at this point. The pizza itself had no taste, aside from the toppings themselves. I tend to like cold pizza, and in my experience, I find that a good pizza also tastes good cold. At one point , I tried just the sauce and it was tasteless. I will give them a shot in the future, given that they just opened, but in my experience a tasteless pizza doesn't usually change. I wish them all the best. read more

Unfortunately, what I got instead was a forgettable, frustrating experience that left me more annoyed than full. Let's start with the basics: the pizza. I tried the classic margherita and a pepperoni slice. Both came out lukewarm, with soggy crusts that tasted more like cardboard than anything fresh or hand-tossed. The sauce was oddly sweet, almost like it was straight out of a jar, and the cheese slid off in one rubbery sheet with the first bite. If this is their flagship offering, they need to go back to the drawing board--fast. Service didn't help the situation. The staff, while not outright rude, seemed totally unprepared for even a modest crowd. Atmosphere? Meh. The space has potential--it's a charming location--but they've done nothing with it. Had a plain slice. It was meh. What I will say is that you get good service and out of all of the pizza places in FH, they have the most comfortable and spacious seating. Decent value when contrasted against local competitors. You get a decent-sized slice and not an overpriced ripoff slice like Gloria on Queens Boulevard. Speaking of which, the plain cheese pizza here has a similar, generic kind of taste to Gloria in that they are both very salty. Still, Forest Hills Pizza is a little better. Nick's Pizza or Austin Street Pizza is slightly better tasting than this, IMO, but this isn't bad. With the service and ambience being very good, it's really a coin toss. La Rondine in Kew Gardens is better than all of them, though. read more

It's a new place, looks clean as they just recently opened, but I have had much better pizza. They got the crust right, thin but not too thin. However, the cheese is awful and looks nothing like real mozzarella, and they use way too much sauce.
