Talk about a great place to visit when craving late night food! We went as a big group and were lucky enough to be served by Janet. She was so friendly and super helpful and since we were the only ones in that late she stuck around and had a few laughs with our group. The food was really good too. We ordered a range of food items, from breakfasts to sandwiches. All were prepared fast and were delicious, props to the chef who fed 8 hungry people. When in town, make sure to visit Benny's!

Wow this place is popular - it was pretty packed on a Saturday morning, had to wait a few minutes to be seated but once we were seated the waitress got us taken care of pretty quickly. This place is your perfect no frills breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is not super extensive but has just about everything you'd expect for a quick casual breakfast. The booths were comfortable and service was great! It would have been nice to see some daily specials or more unique menu items but I'd eat here again!

Yikes, this place ranks poorly on my diner list. We were craving brunch food and Benny's seems to be a popular choice. They seemed to suffered from being one of the few restaurants opened during Christmas because they were out of stock on many things. Luckily for us, they had what we wanted. Country Fried Steak Dinner with mashed potato and corn, and Pilly Cheesesteak Melt. The fried steak was mostly breading. The mashed potato was cold, I had to ask them to microwave it a bit. I'm also used to a little more gravy on my steak, so they happily charged me a dollar for extra gravy. The Philly Cheasteak Melt was dry and had no cheese to melt. We had to dip it in ranch to give it some flavor and cover up how dry it was. So overall, I'd avoid. There are many restaurants that can serve you nice brunch food, this is not that place.

Bennys gives me IHOP or Dennys vibes but not as well known. Went in and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our server was very friendly- he allowed us to choose which ever seat we wanted . He took our drink order instantly:-) I ordered the. French toast breakfast with sausage and cheesy eggs my husband ordered the pancake breakfast with bacon. The EGGS WERE DELICIOUS!!!!!! 10/10 everything else was very tasty -- one flaw .. my orange juice tasted nasty but sometimes that happens with certain brands of OJ. Would definitely come back to Bennys

After driving around on a busy Sunday with so many people at Big Bear, we decided on Bennys. There was a wait but it wasn't too long since it was just two of us. We had the iced coffee with cream and it was okay not sweet but nice. I had the country fried steak and my partner had the chilaquiles. I thought the portion of the chilaquiles was small but my partner said it was enough and he enjoyed them. I enjoyed my country fried steak with eggs. The flavor was good but the greatest but it satisfied me. It was busy so many families were there, we enjoyed our time, finished our breakfast and left. I'm not sure if they're usually busy or if it was just a busy weekend but the noise level wasn't too bad. A good diner for breakfast, lunch and dinner if in a jiffy

So this is based on false information. We stopped by hoping to have breakfast this morning as the menu looked good and as it was stated on their pages that it's pet friendly. It's a little drive from the village but as it looked good, we didn't mind. Plenty of parking as they had a pretty big parking lot. From there, I did notice that there was no outdoor dining. Maybe they had a back patio of some sort. I walked in, there was no one at the counter when I arrived. Maybe 2 minute later a gentleman came out whom was very sweet. Thought I was needing a table for one. I asked if they were pet friendly and if they had outdoor seating. To which he replied no but and asked if it was a service dog. Mine isn't so basically pets weren't allowed unless it's a service animal. Not anywhere did it mentioned about service animals. It quoted pets welcome on their Yelp and goggle map search. So we left which was a sour taste as it was false information. So it's based on that. Can't report on food as we couldn't try it out. Maybe remove the pet information next time.

This diner required a short wait for 2, on a busy holiday weekend. The diner experience was all it should be but a shout out to our server Cindy who was exceptionally attentive and made our brunch great. A good alternative to the hour wait down the street.

Benny's Family Restaurant not to be confused with Denny's although from what I read, the location used to be a Denny's and if you didn't know any better, it still looks like a Denny's with the exception of the wall decor and TVs. The menu is short and offers many of your breakfast needs. There was a bit of a wait on a Sunday morning, although for a party of 3, we were informed only 30minutes, compared to other locations in the area. There is a lot of staff working and all friendly. They were extremely buys and seemed like a private party in one of the areas. We were sat after getting a text message that our table was ready and, drinks were brought very quickly, as well as our food. We opt for the chicken and waffles with a side of bacon, a French toast menu and Benny's omelet. Our food arrived rather quickly. Unfortunately, my son didn't quite like the chicken breading, or the waffle but ate half of it. The waffle did have a specific flavored taste to it. My French toast was good, the hashbrowns were a little underdone, as i like them crispier, but overall, it was fine. My husband enjoyed his omelet and liked the chicken tenders. Service was great until it was time for the check, but another server ended up clearing our table and then we got our receipt. You do pay in the front. Which is why this is so similar to Denny's, so many similarities. Parking lot is small, so plan accordingly. I've seen many people get dropped off and some waiting a while for a spot.

Stumbled upon this cute little diner in big bear ! We got breakfast here and everything was reasonably priced. There wasn't a long wait to get seated. They have a decent size parking lot but it was pretty full and kind of hard to find some parking. The food was good and our server Cindy was really nice and always checked on us see how we were doing.

Well this is the place that we chose after walking out of Nottingham's Tavern. Was immediately seated. A couple of good menus. One was a senior. One order of scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon and pancakes. Delicious. The waitress time was i believe less than 10 minutes. The other was eggs Benedict with spinach. No ham. Included has browns. Delicious as well. Very reasonable prices and great service too! A quiet and calming atmosphere. All I can say is happy eating here.

Another lovely brunch/lunch at Bennys. The staff is always so awesome and welcoming. The food was delish! Perfect crunchy yet automated waffle, salmon with Mac n cheese-yum. Cheeseburger cooked perfectly. Mozzarella stick with the correct cheese pull!! Everything is Always on point here!

Very average breakfast this morning at Bennys. I ordered the Waffle combo. Eggs and hash browns were fine but the sausage links were cold. And, the waffle was not very good. Service was very good until we were ready to pay. Had to flag down our server to get the check. If you want an above average breakfast, I would probably go somewhere else. But if you are looking for a standard breakfast with decent service, this is your place. read more

In regards to the breakfast, I would have rather gone hungry. Raw hash browns, and tough flavorless pancakes. The French toast had a weird almost custardy texture, and not in a good way. Coffee was vile The eggs and sausage were edible. This decision ruined my whole day read more

My partner and I came here on a Tuesday morning for breakfast. We were instantly greeted and seated. Megan was very attentive of us and she made us feel very welcomed considering this was our first time here. It's a very family friendly environment as well. 1st time here as the Bennys. Would always visit when Dennys when we would come up and camp or visit the town. Very friendly service.. well we found out because it was the same staff Our waitress Constance was very friendly and attentive. Horrible. Dennys was great because of prices but Benny's quality and prices are not worth it. Everything here is frozen food maybe a tiny upgrade from fast food. The pancakes my son ordered looked and tasted like the ones you put in the toaster that come from the frozen section. This building has a sewage type smell and is filthy. Will never come here again and won't be surprised if they go out of business read more

Horrible experience! I ordered my food to go. It took 30 mins. The young boy who took the order seemed to not know anything about the menu. I ordered the $18 french toast meal that came with 1 slice of toast. The restaurant is old and dirty. Nobody wears gloves. I seen the girl cashier pick her nose and never go wash her hands. After waiting 30mins and the restaurant being PACKED with no organization, I checked my food and was missing a sausage link. I let the young boy know and he took the food back to the cook. I watched the cook explain somethint and as he was doing that, he was tapping and touching the sausage with NO gloves. The boy came and bought the sausage back to me. I said I did not want that because whatever was being explained could have been done without touching my food. The boy tried to justify it but the manager gave me new sausage. The food was MID, cold and unseasoned. I would not return at all. First and last time. read more

Order a hamburger with mayo and mustard with the fixings, it came with BBQ. They remade another and it came with a sweet dressing maybe thousand island. Another order was chicken fried steak with extra gravy on the side, never made it to the table. We will not be back after spending $80 here. read more

No it's not a fancy restaurant. It's a family restaurant in the tradition of Dennys. It's clean, spacious, the best bang for your buck in a breakfast, lunch and dining restaurant in big bear. Senio specials are great with on point value. read more

Think a couple steps down compared to Dennys. My wife had fish and chips. Fish was good but the breading was way too thick. I ordered a typical breakfast, hash browns needed more time on the grill. The over easy eggs were good. The high point was our server. Very pleasant and attentive. Would we go back, probably not :-( read more

We order turkey club with fries. Fries were stale and you can tell sitting under the warmer for a bit. The sandwich was below average. The place very clean, they were sweeping the floors. Service was good. Also order bbq ribs and chicken covered in BBq sauce to hide it was probably frozen and reheated. . Big mistake lessened learned. Pretty empty when we got here there was only two other people we order our food and waited. It took a really long time for the food to come out despite how many people were here. The food was OK. It wasn't as good as Denny's, but it was still a meager enough meal to fill us up. It was pretty quiet though so all in all four stars. read more

Our server Nancy was amazing! She was fast and attentive and she had a great memory. She had no problems with our orders as a table of 6 and even brought out a pancake with whipped cream for our friend's birthday since she had passed on ice cream. I had the French Toast Breakfast, it was a big portion and very good! Usually I worry about it tasting super eggy but that was not the case here. The interior is just like a normal diner. Great food, great service! We had Savannah and she was awesome attentive and had great suggestions! Iced coffee was amazing and food was delicious! My daughter ate all her eggs and sausage. Hubby liked his crepes and I finished my breakfast burrito. Crispy bacon and toasted on both sides. Super yummy! Will definitely spread the word and come back! Excellent all around - we were looking for a quick bite late at night and came across Benny's- what a surprise - it was amazing. We just had something simple - waffles, French toast and coffee but it was absolutely delicious ! What made it even better was the lovely hostess - she had worked there for something like 25 years and was so welcoming and friendly! I ordered the beef dip that was served on a unique roll that was outstanding. It really set off the whole sandwich. The Ajou was great, and the fresh horseradish was on point. The entire sandwich tasted amazing. Also, I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. This was a very nice dining experience. We will definitely be going back again when we're hungry for something more than just sandwiches. Their menu looked outstanding with some great looking steaks and seafood. Otherwise walk up the stairs and sit at the bar. Food was decent. Service was excellent. If I'm ever in the area again.(I'm sure I will be) I definitely stop in again

So they call our name and then tell us we have to separate our family to get seated and take the two 4 seaters on opposite ends of the table they gave away. They don't give a (insert your favorite curse word here). I guess it's okay though because they warn you on their menu that the staff might be moody lol! A great scapegoat for terrible service. Never again. Here's a tip to anyone reading: go literally 1 minute west down the road and eat at the first restaurant you see. They were phenomenal!

We ordered a two piece and I assumed it would be a half a French bread loaf. What came out was so disappointing that you could only laugh. I kid you not it looked like half a hot dog bun. Yup one side of a hot dog bun with garlic butter and a ketchup cup with sauce to dip it in. I do believe, I'd give them a second chance if I'm being honest but my first visit is the only mulligan they'll get. Next time I will not accept a pizza made incorrectly or order the garlic bread.

Never in my life I had to walk out a restaurant... Until now. The service was horrible. First we put our name down and they said 25 minutes but then turned into 40 minutes. Then we got drinks and placed our order at around 11:25 and and waited for 45 minutes until we asked the manger and waitress what was wrong. The manager was nice about while the waitress was having an ego. I'm not gonna go into full detail with her because maybe she was stressed or whatever. But she told us "I put in your order as soon as I took it... at 11:56"... it was already 12 and we placed our order at 11:25. What the hell? Meanwhile there were parties that got to the restaurant way after us but somehow got their food, drinks, and left before us. I genuinely never felt this frustrated at a restaurant. Come to "Grizzly Manor Cafe" instead, it's just down the street and it's way better. read more

Can I just say that the service is so wonderful I had this teen help me out I think his name was juan he was the best the best it was my first time here in big bear so I asked him a lot of questions about what I could get to eat and what he recommended and juan said that I should get the chicken skillet. I think that they gave me the best thing on the menu because the chicken was so delicious it's was perfectly cooked and had so much flavor and the side it comes with was the same way over all it was a wonderful experience that's I had and i definitely will be coming back in the future for more and I hope to see juan again I loved there service he definitely needs a raise. That's a low blow but what do you expect from someone who throws $10 into a claw machine expecting to win. I'm sorry I missed the chance to get a photo of our food. The waitress named Janet here is so amazing. She made our trip to Big Bear fun. She's so friendly and has a lot of interesting facts. My daughters loved her. The food is good.
