I have been to Benny's many times over the last 20 years and have yet to have a negative experience. Their pizza is outstanding and loaded with toppings. The food is made fresh and is second to none. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to satisfy. There are at least two other pizzerias in the area, but none can compare. For those who left bad reviews, you live to complain and are unworthy to consume the delicacies they prepare and serve. read more

We ordered a hot combination sub with fries and coleslaw. This was half of our order. The other half was fine. The girl on the phone said 40 minutes. The boyfriend told them the sub is cold and is supposed to be hot. Even after the second attempt the sub was not hot. The cheese wasn't melted. The boyfriend was told to throw it in the oven at home. No coleslaw was added even though it was ordered. The fries are good. Not very happy. I'm at work. The food should be prepared as ordered or remade to meet the order. I just moved upstate from Long Island 2 months ago and was really impressed with this place!!! Generous with the chicken on all of the chicken pies. The Caesar salads were huge and delicious. My husband I stayed at the Hasbrouck House last weekend, and we tried Benny's simply because it was next door and it was getting late by the time we checked in. We've spent much of the last ten years living in Brooklyn so... you can't really fool us with pizza. Our regular slices were ok. Not great. They had been sitting in the case and we clearly were not going to be offered anything fresher. The garlic knots, however, were delicious and not greasy. When I asked for a Diet Coke, I was told all they had were warm bottles of Diet Coke. I inquired about ice... they had none. Instead I was offered a warm bottle of Diet Dr Pepper. Interesting, fine. Suffice to say, this place is fine in a pinch and clearly has some loyal customers. However, based on the way the owner responds to the more critical reviews in such a defensive and aggressive manner - I wish we had not spent our money here. read more

We ordered 5 items. No pizza. Some of our meals had salads with them and one simply WAS a salad. All meals were fine BUT, we wound up with an unbelievable amount of PLASTIC. We had tin containers for the hot food but plastic for everything else. Ugh. SO disappointed. None of it was recyclable and even the tins had plastic lids, (could have been cardboard circles). Sadly, I won't order again based on the packaging. There are just a lot of other choices of places who are trying hard to save our transfer station from the volume of trash that has to travel many hours away to be dumped, to pollute our earth for hundreds of years. The OWNER Benny argued with me about having my SERVICE DOG in the pizza shop this evening. He said we were NOT allowed! He did not want dog hair in people's food. Mean while none of his employees had hair nets or gloves, and the cannoli were unwrapped on a tray in the public space. Not to mention the open doors lacking screens allowing flies and bugs in. That is beside the point! I tried to tell him what he was doing was wrong. Tried to explain the law to him. He would not listen. He demanded to see a "certificate". I tried to explain to him that there is no such thing and that he legally can not ask such a thing. He told me so what anyone can put one of these vest on their dog? I've had dogs come in here with these vests and poop on mg floor! I said I'm sorry, but that is not my problem, you should judge each situation individually. He wouldn't listen. I even tried to show him the ADA CARD that clearly states the law, but he refused to look, and when I told him he could be fined up to $5000 he shrugged and said that that was NOTHING My dog was calm, quiet, and completely under my control. He was in his service gear, with his identified patches (not required by law). We have undergone extensive amounts of training, costing thousands of dollars to become a service dog. I did not ask to have an illness. He is no different than another person's wheelchair! He helps me with my medical problems, and is medically necessary! And to think all I wanted was a slice of pizza ! read more

Pizza is ok sauce is on the sweeter side and the crust is pretty doughy but everything else on the menu is not great at all. I ordered nachos and they were covered in cheese wiz and cold chicken. This is a truy community minded restaurant. Not only does it have delicious food, especially the pizza and wings but it is clean, friendly, reasonable and a very community minded business. They work hard to support the health and well being of the community in their COVID 19 protocol. I called in a phone order for 5 chicken parm subs and two fries. I waited 20 minutes to pick them up and get there to find only one sub is made. The nasty girl behind the counter tells me that I ordered only one. I told her that was weird because I have 5 contractors at my house waiting for lunch. Benny jumps in and does a rush order for 4 more. He says 5-10 minutes which is really 20 minutes. Then Benny overcharges me $20 on the order....This is actually the second time I have been overcharged there. They don't provide you an itemized bill!!!!! To say I was annoyed is an understatement. Perhaps a sincere apology instead of attitude would have made the situation more pleasant or a free sub for the additional 20 minutes of a wait. Or even a soda while i waited. They could really use a course in customer service. read more

Decent pizza for the area but poor service. I ordered a sausage pie to go at 11:45am and they said 10-15 minutes. I had a car full of kids so I figured I give them a few more minutes and I come back a little after noon, paid and then they said it wasn't ready. I saw them give the person in front of me a sausage pie and they had a sausage pie on the rack for slices they were giving away like hot cakes. I waited until 12:20pm for them to give me my pie. Apparently you have to babysit a pie or just get it delivered since it seems they will just give away your pie if you are not there exactly when it's ready. read more

I have been a customer at Benny's Pizza for a few years now. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is friendly and family oriented. I was inspired to write this review after seeing a review from a Renee C who posted yesterday. She accuses Benny of stealing from the tip jar and giving the money to his children. She doesn't say she has seen this, just that she has been told this. It's very easy to be accusatory while hiding behind the photo of a dog and being anonymous. She should be ashamed of herself, and Benny is probably better off without her. Welcoming establishments have no room for bitter, misinformed people. My husband would like to meet the accusers of this heinous act face to face to discuss how they came to this conclusion. I would never ever support this restaurant in any way after today. I come to a hotel in the area several times a year and this is the only place that delivers there. That's where all the good things I have to say about this place end. They claim not to take credit cards, kept trying to charge us more than the prices listed on their menu, were incredibly rude, and on top of it all the food isn't that great. They royally botched up French fries today. Really? Not like it takes a rocket scientist to get that one right. And to the reviewer who compared it to NYC pizza - you have clearly never lived in, or gone to NYC at all because their pizza is nothing short of a greasy slippery crime against pizza everywhere.
