I ordered an avocado toast through seamless. I kid you not, there were giant chunks of salt in every bite I took. I couldn't even eat half and had to throw out my food. It was way too salty for anyone to eat, not sure what the chefs were doing in the kitchen but I won't be reordering from this place. read more

I had the burger with blue cheese and it was so good. I ate in and they brought it out hot and fresh - not a long wait but it was 3:30 so an odd time bw lunch and dinner. There are two long shared tables and some counter seating. Nice quick meal and seats if you need them. read more

I haven't been here often but what I've had I've always been pleased with. I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant with pepperjack and scallions and it was delicious! Hudson Market has long lines for their stuff no matter when you go, but I breezed in and out of here on a weekend with no problem. I've also had some of their pasta dishes and they're surprisingly well done! They're a more reasonably priced option for the area. read more

My flight into nyc was delayed, I flew across the country and arrived around 2am. After finally getting to my hotel, there were few options for food. My only priority was to eat something safe and decent tasting so I could make it to the next day. I did not check the yelp reviews, and this place was actually very well rated on Postmates, so I felt like i was safe ordering from them. I was wrong. I got a panini, chili, and a salad, ate a bit of each of them. I woke up a few hours after going to sleep with a severe upset stomach and horrible anxiety that food poisoning was on the horizon. I have been nauseous and light headed for over 24 hours now, barely making it through my work obligations and it's absolutely ruined the start of my trip. No one deserves to get sick when they are patronizing your business, and you should take food safety seriously. Beware ordering from this place. read more

Stopped here for a cup of coffee and some pastries after a nice stroll in the neighborhood. It was a beautiful night and we sat outside. The young lady behind the registrar was very nice and was constantly smiling. It isn't "world class" bakery goods but it was definitely good enough, especially the black & white cookie. Not only did they forget my order, they proceeded to ignore me for the entirety of my wait there. This place not only has bad food, but bad service. Dominos will give you a better deal--avoid this place like the rats. Even the rats know not to eat here. Your 10 lb Corgi has higher standards than this place. The best diner in lower Manhattan. Delicious salads, smoothies and soups ... sandwiches are amazing as well. We are never disappointed with anything here. Also they're open 24/7 which is a huge plus if your looking for late night nibbles after a party!!! Lol read more

I only have tried their breakfast, but it is just the best! So good that I will take a long subway ride to get to Benvenuto. To be very explicit, I have not encountered a better lox Benedict anywhere in Manhattan (though I must say that I won't try them if they're crazy-high priced). You get a generous serving of lovely home fries and a nice lathering of hollandaise. Food comes quickly and the owner (Perry) is a very friendly guy, as are all the staff people I have encountered there. Extra bonus points for the fact that they give me a nice salsa to put on my home fries (a lot of breakfast places do not have any salsa). First-rate espresso and, for a small independent place I am impressed that you can get a large size which is a full venti. So many of their competitors do not offer you anything more than 12 ounces. They have a large menu and all sorts of other good things too. A huge, gorgeous bowl of oatmeal is their "small" size. Excellent muffins, juices, you name it. Yummmmmm. The fact that they're open 24/7 is of course a big plus too. I have not tried them at busy times, though, so I can't say how this experience would be. But I can't think of a better place to have breakfast in Manhattan. read more

I personally love ordering from here and it's my new go-to for paninis. You can "build" your own panini on seamless, and there are a lot of choices of bread, which I like a lot. It's not the standard panini you think of when ordering from a deli. They have a good selection of ingredients to put in your panini. Also, you can make your own salad. There are different types of greens you can choose from as your base. And again, lots of topping options. Different dressing options... It's very easy to be happy with your choices. Delivery can take either a short amount of time or a while, but I think it's because they get a lot of orders, not because they're slacking. If you want to order something simple at night like I do, try this place at least once. read more

Benvenuto serves up pretty much everything in the lunch category but the kitchen sink. Salads - create your own and specialty Paninis and wraps Burgers Hot entrees like meatloaf, fajitas, fish, and even pork chops Sandwiches Pasta Soups Buffalo wings Breakfast items - pancakes/french toast, eggs, bagels, etc Juice mixes The food comes out at a wavering 3 on the taste scale, so I rarely stop in for wraps or pasta anymore. What I do love this place for is the create your own salad bar. (Yes... I've returned even after reading that other review. Although, I also thoroughly check my salads just in case.) You have the option to select any seven ingredients from the list of veggies, cheese, etc. Protein can be added on for an additional cost. (My personal favorite to add is the seared tuna.) Really, if I had only tried their salads, they would have scored a 4 in my book. Location-wise, it's a convenient lunchtime spot, but it's also nowhere special to go out of your way for. There are better lunch options in the area, but this IS one of the cheaper decent places. read more

I must say I was really dissapointed by this place. I was about a half hour early to my meeting downtown so I stopped in here for a tea. I saw the salad bar and customers sitting along the windows I figured it was a salad, sandwich lunch/breakfast type place. The decor was very nice. I think this is what sucked me in. Wood tables, chairs and floors. Stone counter top all the way around the cafe. This is where the good part ends. This place really needs and identity check. 1. Why does it look like a nice downtown cafe but is staffed like a midtown chain restaurant? No one speaks English. I ordered... Me: May I have a small Tea Girl: What tea you like? Me: Regular tea Girl: Stares and points to selection of about a dozen teas behind her, too far for me to read and not listed anywhere Me: Just give me whichever one is closest to regular tea Girl: Stare-----Pause------Look of complete confusion-----"I no no what tea you like" What do I end up with? A medium (not small) disgusting citrus flavored tea...like literally the farthest thing from regular tea. 2. Is this a cafe, a salad/sandwich place, a diner? I'm not sure, but the menu has about 1,000 items.....Is someone really going to order swordfish or lobster ravioli??? Any who, I gave my tea back partially to be nice and not put a full thing of tea into their garbage bag and partially to say thanks bitch for the nasty shit that is nothing like real tea. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap through seamless - naturally assuming that it would resemble a Chicken Caesar salad in a wrap. It came with chicken and Parmesan cheese and one piece of romaine lettuce lol. When I called, the guy told me that I should ask to include more romaine lol and that it's mostly a chicken wrap with Cesar salad ingredients and that's just how they do it there. The sei sandwich. Need I say more? I needn't but I shall because it is truly the most wonderful sandwich I have had in my short albeit long life. The focaccia. The turkey. The havarti. The peppers. The PESTO MAYO. It is truly an experience in and of itself to eat this sandwich. When possible, I recommend pairing it with Kettle Cooked Habanero Lime chips. Just trust me on this. Another great lunch spot in TriBeCa. I used to go here everyday for a custom salad. You can choose a small or large salad with 7 toppings. I think that's a pretty good deal. Their sandwiches, paninis, and pastas are so savory! Once you go P6 you can never go back. read more

Ew, gross. I had the unfortunate pleasure of getting an overpriced sandwich that tasted horrible.. I got the second panini on the menu, which was smoked turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, and tomatoes. They took forever to make this sandwich (like more than 10 minutes?!), and to add salt to the wound, THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY BACON. I didn't feel like going back up there and telling them I wanted bacon because I was running a bit short on time. Tastewise: BLAND. The cheese tasted like plastic and the whole thing didn't have much flavor besides plastic. And all this for $7.95... one of the worst ways to spend $7.95 Obviously I didn't try the other menu items, but based on this one sandwich, I can't imagine the other items tasting that great. read more

This is a really cute cafe for a quick bite. It's mainly a to-go spot but they have a few long communal style tables and hi-top seats by the window. If you order breakfast to stay, the manager or owner brings out your plates of food to you. I've tried the turkey bacon, egg and cheese on a perfectly toasted roll and a scrambled egg, avocado, turkey bacon on whole wheat toast. Both were so delicious and well made. A bit on the pricey side but you're in Tribeca so I guess that's where those prices kick in. $17 for coffee, hot chocolate and two breakfast sandwiches. Benvenuto Cafe ended up being a very pricey Seamless Web lunch, with a panini and large soup pushing about $20. It's not clear at all why such a standard lunch combination costs twice as much here as it does anywhere else in the city. Admittedly though, they add in a free banana, a free chocolate chip cookie, and a slice of bread but that hardly justifies the price difference. The sandwich was the "otto panini" which included genoa salami, sopressata, prosciutto, provolone, mozzarella, roasted peppers, onions, and olive spread. The panini had good texture, but it was a little thin on the meat which was disappointing. The roasted peppers were pretty good though. Additionally the soup was a chicken noodle soup which had nice chunks of chicken and a good broth. Weirdly though, the large was what I would consider a small (maybe I am used to ordering soups from Asian restaurants). Overall, decent fare, but skimping on portion sizes and the meat and then in turn charging twice the going rate for this ordinary fare will not be having me coming back anytime soon. read more

The night time crew is horrendous. Its as if you are an inconvenience just for showing up to order. Have continued to forgive horrible service for years now. Finally giving up. Imagine ordering something, it comes out wrong, and they give YOU an attitude for quietly and politely asking for the RIGHT item. Theres a middle eastern gentleman and a spanish guy, both give horrible service. read more

She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. The space is a bit cramped so it's more of a grab and go situation. The Banana Bread Hojicha ($8.75) was wow, it tastes exactly like it sounds. It was sweet enough for me without needing any additional sweetener. The only issue was that the hojicha came out a little grainy, so I think the barista didn't mix it as well as they would matcha. The Cherry Blossom Matcha ($8.50) was everything we imagined cherry blossom to taste like. A lot of times cherry blossom drinks end up tasting pretty off, but this one actually delivered. It's made with ground cherry blossom which I think makes all the difference. The matcha itself was good but the drink runs on the less sweet side, so my husband added honey and brown sugar syrup to his. By the time I got to try it, it tasted just as good as mine. We are definitely coming back for those cocktails.

I wish they had a call list or a texting service to let us know when we were up. We came back at the 20 minute mark and thankfully were seated pretty quickly after that. Thankfully the dining area was cooler than the waiting area. For food I got The Smash and added a poached egg. My bf got the breakfast burrito (he would have gotten the eggs Benedict, but it didn't look like they had Cholula). I had read reviews that this was the best avocado toast in NY, but it was maybe my least favorite of the few I tried! Could just be me, but it had more of an acidic flavor than I like. My last bite was also a mouthful of feta which I had thought was egg lol, it was honestly hard for me to get down. My bf's breakfast burrito was maybe the smallest he's ever had, but it tasted decent. 5/5 for service, and the ambiance (though hot) was cute. I'd be tempted to give them another try because of how good the reviews are, but I wouldn't get their avocado toast again.

Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... Food tasted fine, what of it they included. Ordered a bagel with egg whites and bacon (+ extra bacon) I don't mind paying for extra, happy to do it. I got the sandwich, checked to make sure it had extra bacon - it had 2 total pieces of bacon. Cool. I was like, ok - maybe he forgot. I tell the guy - "this doesn't have extra bacon" he takes it to the back and proceeds to have the cook "add more bacon" which was 1 more piece. I check it again, but of course don't want to take apart the entire sandwich while standing there. (I can't actually fathom how much actual bacon they put when they charge you normally (half a piece maybe?) This was underwhelming on the most disappointing of levels. At this point what do I say? I NEVER buy food around here, because I find it all SO incredibly overpriced, but today I went against my normal habits for a craving. Nothing more disappointing when you choose the one place for that one off treat, and they not only disappoint, but they give it back to you still wrong. I basically just paid 9+$ plus tax for a bagel and 3 total pieces of bacon. If you charge per piece - let me know - happy to pay it. But don't sell me a bagel for 10.00$. I know it's Tribeca but it's insulting. I truly don't mind paying to get what I want - but that didn't actually even seem like an option. If you are looking for a place that doesn't count bacon per piece, maybe try the bodega down the street. read more

I have been to this restaurant 3 times a week since they opened, and before that for about 4 years to the Flat Iron location. I have never had a problem and find the salads awesome and very different-- like fresh tuna and salmon for ingredients. (And if you are into fresh juice or wheat grass, here it is!) However, having lived in NYC for 15 years, and been to 100's of top notch restaurants, I have to say I have seen "insects" at places as high scale as NOBU. Yes, $100 for my meal yes, there on the wall...so, perhaps if indeed there was a bug, I am sure it was a one time occurrence --and I bet he didn't eat much. Benvenuto rocks. read more

MESSAGE TO THE OWNER OF BENVENUTO - GET RID OF YOUR MANAGER ASAP! this place is otherwise great in my opinion. the employees are kind and helpful... except for your creepy manager. he used to be at peace & love cafe and i stopped going there because of him. he is really inappropriate. you walk in hoping he's not there and then he comes out of the woodwork to hit on you. the socializing is highly unwelcome and he NEVER gets a hint. he really ruins the environment it seems as well with the employees. they seem miserable. just a note from a current/soon-to-vanish customer. read more

A-OK. This is a pretty good place. The open face turkey for dinner is good size, good value for the price. The salmon dinner is pretty good to if you're looking for quick tasty affordable fish that you don't have to go to a sit down restroom for. Occasionally the produce isn't as good as it could be. For example, sometimes when ordering a salad the avocados can be brown/bruised/over ripened. Delivery is always pretty good, arrives within 45 minutes every time i have ordered. Really good salads here, this is my go to lunch spot. The owner is really nice, one time i accidentally ordered the wrong panini and once the guy made it I realized it was wrong, I was visibly upset but didn't want to make a fuss because It was my mistake, the owner saw what happened and told the guy to just make me a new one. (We gotta publicize this great place!) The woman who has always served at the counter there (around 1 PM on weekdays), is: friendly, efficient, patient and welcoming. She always brings a smile to our faces. And the man who serves in the kitchen area seems quite warm, too, even though I haven't spoken with him as much.
