These guys are great! I read some of the other reviews and don't think they are valid. The negative reviews are old, from someone who purchased a car without ever seeing it in person (??!?!?), or is talking about a place in New York. First off, these guys are under new ownership and a part of Auto XChange that also has a showroom and two more lots located in town. Don't let the small selection at the corner turn you away. From the moment I walked in Keith was really welcoming and helpfulI. We sat down and went over my budget. He pulled up the website and showed me what he had, both in my range and a bit above. A couple of cars caught my eye but we needed to go to the main location to view it. Keith drove us over and had us browse one of the two lots they have in town. He gave my friend and I a lot of time to look at cars by ourselves which I appreciated. Not once did I feel pressured into anything. I'm glad I decided to take the time to view the main lot because I found a car that I really liked. I got to drive the car back to the Aiea location which was a great test drive to get a feel for the car. We got back and Keith introduced me to N.G. and we negotiated a price that I was happy with. He made everything really smooth. They do take trade-ins and will help with financing if needed. It was my first time buying a car and both Keith and NG made it a great experience. So now that Andre has admitted that the previous management were scamming people, my question remains the same...why would I refer anyone after reading his response? Referrals are the best way for a company to stay in business. I'm not military, so I'm not going anywhere and will tell EVERYONE about my experience with your company at your location. You would have been better off by changing the company name instead of posting how this new management will treat people better. I bought a 2009 Audi A4 back in July 2015. When I pointed out the check engine light, Howard assured me that he personally knew the previous owner and can vouch that he took care of the car. He stated that their mechanic, John, is Audi verified and it's probably a small thing that he can fix. After several weeks of John being unable to fix the issue, I took the care to Audi who assessed over $8,000 in repairs. At this point I tried to return the car but Best Auto refused stating they would fix the cat and turbo which should resolve the engine light. I've purchased seven cars so far in my life, and on 3/22/18, I had BY FAR, simply the best and easiest car buying experience at the Auto X-Change (dba Best Auto Group) in Aiea. I purchased a 2015 Lexus GS30 in (unbelievably) near perfect condition with just under 9K miles. Rather than a long story, I've decided to list many reasons why it was such an enjoyable experience. Salesman Keith Chow 1. Personable. Keith is an all-around great guy and a very easy person to talk to, and he made the entire car buying experience actually enjoyable. 2. Professional. With years of experience in auto sales, Keith knows what he's talking about. I'm no expert, but having done my research on the car I intended to purchase, I was impressed that Keith already knew what I had learned about the car. 3. Patient. At no time did Keith pressure me into purchasing the vehicle. He allowed me to take my time examining the car at my own pace. Manager and Finance Director Phil Wang 1. I made it known that I was a serious buyer, and he treated me like a serious buyer (just without all the pressure). 2. Professional. Phil treated me with respect. He took down what I felt was a fair offer on the car, and I genuinely felt like he would try to get me that price. (And he did!) 3. Phil patiently waited as I looked over the numbers and paperwork, and explained each item in detail. My concluding thoughts... 1. Doc fees were fair, not overpriced. 2. Selection: with over 200 vehicles in stock, I'd imagine they have a car for practically all types of buyers. 3. Friendly staff. Keith and Phil were great to work with. 4. A steal would've been great (who doesn't want a ridiculously low price?), but I was happy that I got what I felt was a fair deal. Having previously done my research on the car (KBB market values, CARFAX, comparable searches on the same car at other dealerships), I targeted a figure between KBB's private party asking price and KBB's dealer asking price. Like any car dealership, I'm sure Auto X-Change did their homework as well, so I'm happy they didn't haggle with me. 5. On second thought, I think I got a great deal on the car... 6. If only I could give ZERO stars !!!! Bought a 2015 Toyota Tacoma with no tailgate ! April 2, 2016 was told didn't need recon and when we got the truck, it was legal. So we thought, okay seems pretty legit. Went in to Good Year to do our safety check. And guess what! Couldn't get it because of RECON. Called this dumb place and asked to speak to a manager. One haole' guy answered and was acting real dumb like he couldn't he hear me. Kept saying, "your call's going in and out." I was literally yelling at my phone for his deaf ear !!!! Fuckin clean ya ears !! Then he gets all my info and I'm told, the manager(Andre') is in a meeting. First my other half called and he was told the same thing, an hour before I even called. Before he even HUNG UP the phone on me. I was asking, " what time is the meeting done?" NOPE. Didn't even finish my question before this dumb ass hung up on me. So I call back, and another guy answered, I was asking for the guy that hung up on me. And I could hear him in the background when the guy that answered said, "This lady just called" and he was like, " oh ask for her name". So my other half took the phone and said, "We coming down there!". We went and this new manager(ANDRE) was never in a meeting at all!! He LIED and admitted it. He said, "The truth is I'm not feeling well, and I just didn't want to deal with anything today". HE DIDN'T DO JACK SHIT!! He just kept saying, "I didn't send you here." Like duh' we not fucking dumb. But you must be ! You fucking buy one company, you gotta deal with their screw ups. The least he coulda done was PAID for our RECON ! That was the only problem! But no! I came in looking to just get an idea of things, I knew I was in the market for a car and literally told them I had $150 bucks to my name until my next payday so I wasn't looking to buy that day. So immediately I see Cherise and she is nice, gets to know you and works with you.. But its a very high pressure environment. Coming from a sales background I am used to professionalism at its finest. I had already read the reviews so I came in with a guard. I was curious about how their financing worked and I had only a few things handy to do that so i couldnt go forward with anything even if i wanted to..that is when Cherise knew she wasn't going to make a sale. She then handed me off to the older gentleman who literally said to me "when you are willing to cooperate we can help you" that sentence is the VERY reason I will never go back there. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but its just very unprofessional, grungy, tacky and overall an ugly experience. And just to add, their new radio advertisement where they bash the rail, not very classy. I make good money, I had gone in there during a rough time to plan for my future car purchase that I will eventually make. My review would have been rather extensive, but ultimately all of my issues were resolved over time by Jim(manager) and Tom(Salesman). I got a great car from them. A heavily modified 2015 Mustang GT. The car is great and in excellent condition. My problems lied in the administrative department. The previous finance manager who created the issues was fired mid way through correcting the problems so a lot of my problem with this company went away with that. Long story short, make sure everything is in writing, stay on top of those things in writing, and your new car purchase should go well. read more

Wish I'd read the reviews before flying to Honolulu to see the car. I looked at an older convertible. The pictures did not show the damage to the dash displays, the a/c didn't work, the wheels were badly discolored. We negotiated and agreed upon a price, and what they would fix. They brought out the paperwork and the list of what they would fix didn't have all of the items on it. Then they tried to up the price. After some discussion they left the price as agreed. The top has 8 cylinders. The salesperson told me that they had all been replaced. Then they informed me that only 2 of the cylinders had been replaced. I left. I wanted the car so I came back the next day and asked them to verify that they could fix the wheels before I signed the paperwork. I left to catch my flight home. They called and said yes the wheels could be fixed, but they wanted $500 more because they realized it was going to cost them more to fix the dash then they thought. This is why used car people have such a bad rap. What ever happened to standing by your word. read more

The best thing about my experience was meeting Cherise! She was great and made me feel welcomed, also it helped that she was a local lady too! And that was the only thing great about my experience there. 1st off I drove the car off the lot with a credit approval through Bank of Hawaii which was right down the road and I even shook hands with one of the finance managers that just so happens to be visiting with the dealership so I felt comfortable with dealing with a local bank. BUT I went home that night and called Bank of Hawaii the next morning to go through the payment process but they said they haven't received any kind of inquiry, so I called "Derrick" (watch out for this guy he's slick) my salesman and he told me that I was being financed by a mainland company named "Gateway one financial" I explained to him that I haven't agreed to be financed by a mainland company and noted to him that he said I was being financed through Bank of Hawaii the day earlier so that's what I agreed on, I therefore wanted to return the vehicle because at this point the car was not being financed through Bank of Hawaii as we agreed upon, he said "its too late I had already drove the car off the lot" I told him but technically the car hasn't been financed through anyone yet so it's not even a done deal!!!! He then hung up the phone on me and would not answer my phone calls. I went to the dealership and he just so happens to not be there!! I later get a phone call from Gateway one financial about the terms of the agreement, I said wait hold up I haven't signed anything or know anything about this transaction?!?! The lady then told me that they just received the fax just a few hours ago!! At this point my mind is blown and told the women that I would like to cancel this transaction but I was told only the dealership could do it. I called that asshole Derrick (by the way he is a heavy set Caucasian male stands about 6'2 ex convict too) he told me that it was too late! I was so pissed he could've cancelled the transaction but he wouldn't just to make a sale. At this point I could just beat the crap out of him but you know what it's just not worth it. I hope this helps other people out when buying a car from (Best auto group) watch out for the salesman Derrick he's only about making that sale and really don't care on how he does it! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS SO CALLED DEALERSHIP. We drove a very long time after agreeing on the internet price (obviously with taxes, registration and fees included) and that is EXACTLY what we were told on the phone more than 4 times. When we got to the trailer dealership, there was some issues of getting the car 0 down, even though we spoke to Denese over the phone THREE TIMES and her conforming that we are approved for 0 down. This is how they scam- they told us false information and when we get there, knowing obviously we don't live in NY, so we are not coming to fool around but to actually leave with the car, they kept making us wait longer and longer, upping the price, trying to make the biggest profit because they foolishly thought we would leave with the car no matter what. We were there all day, them sending us to different rooms, talking to different scammers, exhausting us, cornering us (failing of course) to buy the car no matter what. Speaking to Eric first, the sons owner, who seemed to be the doltish of all exploiting the fact that he is NOT going to take the 2.5% dealer fee that they usually take , YET he added an extra 1000 on the car because it was "listed wrong" but yet we still agreed, and the monthly payment came to a reasonable one and we were about to make a deal but the condition of the car was TERRIBLE. It obviously has been sitting in the sun for OVER 6 months where the leather of the car was turning yellow, the rims of the car were absolutely repulsive, the car had NO brakes, and one of the tires was not balanced correctly making it a very dangerous car to drive. Eric told us that when agreeing on a deal, that is when they take the time to fix everything but the car was not even OK to test drive, even yet, why would you show a car like that, in that dangerous condition, to a serious buyer? After agreeing with Erics deal, on one condition: to fix the insane flaws of the car, he said he would have to talk to the manager (Joe.) after hours of waiting, Joe came and surprisingly, was even more inane than Eric, Adding the 2.5% that Eric said they would not add and some BS warranty which was forced, or he passively threatened us that the deal would not work without it. Joe also upped the price of the car even way more. We were upset since we made sure that the car was the internet price and only has the regular taxes and fees, drove a long way and realized its actually almost 8k more. The owner came after 3 hours (Ziv), the biggest imbecile of ALL staff, and even tried to add almost 5% of that BS fee so they can make more money and scam us. He also told us it was a mistake, the internet price and he is so called going to punish the salesman for giving us false information. He tried to prove his lie by showing us how much he got the car for (probably a lie, too) and how giving us the online price is just not realistic. I understand you want to make a profit, but why lie, scam, play around with your costumers? and Little did he know his vacuous son exposed their secret to us. The car salesmen are the lowest arch of idiots, not knowing a single thing of any car they are selling, specifically George- and giving us false information. We stayed the night in NY, and went to a dealership in the same Bronx neighborhood and bought the same exact car, even with less mileage, same sport package, for the same listed price and even with a clean car fax and we actually feel safe driving it. Their neighbors told us how they have a bad rep, and are actually known to swindle, and fraud some people with their information- as we already told our lawyers, informed them with the exact times when we sent in our credit application, so now are ready just in case something like that happens. PLEASE think twice before submitting a credit application. We are now working with the department of consumer affairs. PLEASE do not waste time or money at this place. I am writing this review, not to complain, but hoping to prevent someone to seriously buy a car from them, and having them get SCAMMED by these crooks. read more

YEP. Shady, shady shady. They also rip people off. I saw them selling a USED 2009 Chevy Impala for $21k with over 50k miles on it when a BRAND NEW ONE at Chevrolet in town costs $23k starting. RIP OFF. Buyer beware. You were warned. I was shopping around for a van but the guy didn't know I knew a lot about cars. Yeah. He tried to sell me a 2009 Toyota Sienna van for $30k when a brand new one base model is less. NOPE. I walked off that lot and never looked back. They take unsuspecting people without knowledge in car value and rip them off. It's not a good way to run a business. Shame on them. SHAME ON THEM. We bought a 2011 Chevy Traverse in 2014 it was running great and we were shown the carfax, that stated it was good. Now that we are having issues with our car and trying to trade it in, we find out that they gave us a false carfax and the car we were sold had a BAD CARFAX!!! Car Buyers Beware!! I just prchased a car from Best Auto Group only 3 months into driving it and the car breaks down. But wait a minute Ill even start from where it begins. Cherise talks with Howard figure out what bank will give me the loan. The bank okays the loan if I'm able to drop $2600.00 for down payment but they wanted me to lie to the bank and say I paid the down payment in full but I didnt I dropped $1600.00 then I needed to go back to them couple of days later to pay the other $1,000.00. If I didn't do it then I wouldn't be able to get the loan from the bank. I even have my receipts to prove it. 3 days later I'm driving up Pali the car starts to bog out. I take it in to Cherise the mechanic looks at it tells me the spark plug wasn't good so he changes it. The very next day I test drive it again I'm driving up Pali again there I go again I call Cherise. Cherise tells me to bring it in again this time the mechanic looks at again the diagnostic tells him coil pack three and four so he changes all the coil packs. Everything was fine for the couple months now my car won't even turn on. It's not the battery why because we took it to Oreillys and the battery is good. Oh wait a moment I forgot to mention the AC went out on me a month ago. I took it in got that fixed now I don't know what to do with the car because when I tried to do a diagnostic on the car nothing shows up. I'm totally stuck with a lemon. But it's okay I will contact "BBB", "RICO", "Action Line" file my complaint. But in the mean time i will also get in contact with some other important people. I can't see myself paying $20,000.00 on this car is not running. I called spoke with Howard on Sunday he stated that he would have his mechanic call me on Monday because Sunday they are close. I know they are open but maybe the mechanic isn't working so i gave him the benefit of the doubt. Howard also told me that the mechanic will come in at 11:00am Monday but he has the mechanic picking some parts for him and then when he comes in he will have the mechanic come to my home and take a look at the car. Well Monday came i called Howard at 12:00pm he stated the mechanic is going to be in 20 minutes because he picking up a part for Howard and he will have the mechanic call me when he gets back well I called Howard at 12:45pm and he started snapping at me telling me you know what Rosalynn there is nothing i can do the mecahnic is a independant contractor so it's up to him if he calls or when he calls you, so all I said to him with a calm voice was okay is that how it's going to be and he tells me yes. Well Howard for your information you just totally screwed with someone very educated and I will pursue this situation. It's okay if i don't get anything in my favor at least I can get this information out to the public. This company is a rip off. Look this company up before purchasing they already had a citation issued on them for unlicensed activity. All I wanted was for them to just help me figure out what the problem was with this car or if they could just switch out with another car or something. I waited almost a year before I wrote my review. I wanted to make sure that I had all my facts straight and that I am not speaking from anger and frustration. Me and my husband heard their ad on the radio and decided to buy our first car together there March 2016, we were newly married at the time. Sherise was the employee that took care of us while we went through the process. Lets begin with the 15 inquires on my credit report. I was listed as the co-applicant and my husband was the applicant himself. After going through this entire process, even a year later, I still receive inquire notices in the mail. We were put in a Toyota nearly three days after putting $2,000 down. I live in Kunia and couldn't even make it home before the car began to over heat. I took it to a mechanic thinking it was something simple since the care wouldn't even be running for 5 minutes before the temperature gauge reached over the hot line. After spending over $1,000 I notified Sherise in person that same day. On the way back home the car once again began to over heat. I took it back to the mechanic and they showed me where the antifreeze was mixing into the oil in my motor. A $3,000 or more job. After talking with Sherise and asking to give the car back to get at least my deposit back she and the manager told me no. A few days later I got a call to bring the car back and they would trade it for a second car. Since I had nothing to lose I decided to give it a chance. The second car they put me in was a Poniac. The second day I had the car again I had to fork over $1,000 in brakes. The issues got worse. The cable that controls the gears broke while I was parking my car and the safety feature kicked in not allowing me to turn my car on at all. They sent their mechanic out to fix it since it was a recall on the vehicle. A couple of days later I noticed antifreeze leaking from the car, Sherise told me to bring it in and they will fix it so I did. They claim the mechanic couldn't find anything but as I was picking up the car I showed her the same leak that they couldn't find. Again I left without my car. They finally claim to have fixed the leaking antifreeze issue. A few days later I found a big puddle of fluid under the passenger side front tire. I thought it was breakfluid and I didn't drive the car. I got a mechanic to come look at it and they found it to be the radiator finally broke. I gave up. I ended up spending over $4,000 and still had a $400 car payment and the car still needed work. I returned the vehicle after they said that it was my problem from there on out. I parked it one night and dropped off the keys and left. I contacted KHNO2 hotline and the BBB but because we signed an "as is" clause they were not liable for anything. It's sad, in total I didn't even have the car long enough to make my first 2 week payment. I wouldn't go to these people. It's pathetic how they treat their customers. I would really promote this car dealership to any1 who really needs help in getting a vehicle. Yes really. Why? I needed a vehicle but my budget was tight, no way I can add another payment to it. Praying God will show me how & where brought me to this place, thinking to myself I bought a van here abt 5 yrs ago and I didn't like the service even the environment was uncomfortable. BUT to my amaze met a man so friendly, respected facing you and all the guys there r the same, helping out....I asked them what happen to those people who worked here. He replied, I don't know, they left. We just new and taking over now under a new management. No wonder it's changed, the environment is great. God put someone there to help out people who have problems like me. My paperwork was done the same day with the deal I can afford. Thank you Best Auto Group for the great help.
