I've been going to this exact bahn mi shop since 2016 and have never stopped. Honestly I don't have anything to complain about their sandwiches. The bread is so fluffy and crisp, the sandwich itself is always stuffed full, and the mayo and pâté ratio never miss. My go to order is the #1 and #6. I used to work at a bahn mi shop in my home state and my old manager told me that his favorite is the meatball, I have never not gotten a meatball or special meat bahn mi if I can help it. I also love the variety of things here, I haven't tried the tacos and I've eaten the croissant sandwiches out of curiosity, but nothing will beat the banh mis. 10/10 would recommend Best Baguette. My favorite Bahn Mi shop. Always fresh crisp bread and veggies, usually generous portion of meat. My usual is the #9, the BBQ Pork, husband and grandkids order the #1, the Special. I love the drive through on Powell. Its so convenient, I'll go out of my way to stop by. Service is always polite and friendly. The baguette was very hard, sadly too crispy making it painful and messy to bite into. Pate was good but they put a lot of mayo on it, which helps cut down on the hard baguette but resulted in mayo dripping out. Service was quick and friendly enough. As always they add all the fixings to the sandwich, as well as the spicy pepper. It's quite spicy so you decide if you want it or not. This sandwich was more like a vermicelli bahn mi which is essentially the left over vermicelli, than pan fried with oil and seasoning. The daikon, carrot, cucumber, cilantro and jalapeño add a symphony of flavors and texture. So refreshing! For protein I went with the pork. The sandwich was good but could have been better. It was very dry; next time I will ask for extra fish sauce and dressing. It was quite filling so ate half and then the other half for dinner. With the best Bahn Mi at An Xuyen, a Vietnamese bakery and sandwich shop close by on SE Foster, the next time I'm craving this sandwich, I'll drive a bit further. My go to go for banh mi whenever I am in outer SE Portland visiting family. The service is just ordering at the counter and waiting for them to call your order so it's like fast food. I love my orders here especially the best baguette special and the grilled pork banh mi. Everything about the sandwiches are good!
