Super garlicky beans with a great consistency, fluffy rice, great meats, and fresh pico de gallo with a little spice. Will totally return, have had several really good meals there. Came here as a suggestion from a friend. He swore by their food, so why not?! Super fast, cost efficient. You choose your tortilla, accompaniments, meat etc... you guys know the drill. Everyone there was smiling and seemed to genuinely like their job. That's always a plus. My only gripe is that I wish it was more meat versus tons of rice, or at least equal amount; so you aren't eating tons of rice then fishing for the meat in the background. Real deal! Spicy chicken burrito is my favorite, as well as the Kimchi burrito! Ugh. So much delicious flavor. Sadly I do have two negative points to share: The nachos use that fake nacho cheeese sauce, which I cannot stand, otherwise the toppings are great but I can't do the cheese sauce. Worse than that -- they used to have the most delicious three mushroom burrito! It was off the charts. Like nothing I've had before. Sadly they change their menu item and now they just use one mushroom; just the button mushrooms and it's really really plain and boring, which is so sad because they had some things so spectacular before. I never tried this place because I thought the name was so irritatingly dumb. This, it turns out, was a huge error on my part. My stepson mentioned that he had had a bulgogi burrito, and I immediately demanded to know the name, location, and approximate arrival time at said burrito producer. He said "best burritos" and I said "clearly, so what's it called?" and he said "best burritos" and I was all "is there an aural glitch in the matrix?" and he was like "IT IS CALLED BEST BURRITOS" and before that sentence was done, I was out the door like a shot. So the bulgogi burrito (aka the beef teriyaki burrito) is a little "wet" for my liking but it's really scrumptious. I've been utterly disappointed by this place 3 times in the past 3 months. Wanting to support small, local businesses, I recently purchased several plates of tacos. Simple order. Meat, cilantro, onions, tortilla. Came home and opened the boxes to chewy, slabs of cold meat? And no salsa whatsoever on the tacos! Inedible and disappointing to say the least. After I stood there watching one employee washing the robot coupe and another one eating, they decided to wait on me. I don't like to be ignored and it was pretty obvious I was standing there waiting to order, but when someone finally moseyed over to me, I ordered a simple bean and rice burrito. That's what I felt like this particular day and I've never had the most boring, dry, rice and beans in ANY burrito EVER!! If you can't make a decent rice and bean burrito, you won't get my business. How can you screw up rice and beans, you might ask? Well, when you bite into a burrito and it tastes like you're biting into a rubbery tortilla, and nothing else, that's what you'll find at this place. I'm not a fan of places that use those steaming devices to heat up tortillas (which Chipotle also uses). It may be a fast way to heat up a tortilla, but throwing them on a flat top grill is so much better and really doesn't take that long AND the tortilla isn't steamed to death and tastes a whole lot better.You'll find this method used at small, hole in the wall, mom and pop type establishments. Also, rice and beans should NOT cost over $7. at ANY establishment. So, yeah, you guessed right, I will be spending my cash elsewhere, where people acknowledge me standing in front of them, and a small pile of rice and beans tastes like something with at least SOME seasoning and should cost about $4. Spicy pork burrito is sooooo good, but it is oily :-( u get some store bought, gringo style tortilla chips with your burrito. Consider adding a side of pico de gallo but just know that this pico can sometimes have a heavy oregano flavor. All in all....it's a little more expensive than the typical burrito joints I'm used to but the burritos have great flavor and are fully loaded. Just don't expect exceptional customer service! I work in the city and I'm spoiled with the burrito choices throughout the Mission. Anyhow, I was in El Cerrito and stumbled across this little neighborhood gem called Best Burritos. I tried the steak & shrimp burrito and it was frankly one of the best I've ever had. It was packed with incredibly fresh ingredients, generous portions of shrimp with a good ratio of marinated steak balanced with seasoned rice, choice of black or pinto beans, sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, and fresh made guacamole. I opted for black beans along with all of the accoutrements sans lettuce. I typically don't prefer lettuce in my burritos so be sure to ask for no lettuce if you're like me. However, my sister had lettuce in hers so I took a bite and it was actually quite good. The lettuce added a nice texture and made the entire burrito taste incredibly fresh. I also needed to bring home dinner for the wife so I ordered The "Teriyaki" beef bowl (it's actually Korean bul-goki which is 100 X's better than teriyaki IMHO). The beef was tender, juicy, slightly sweet but balanced perfectly with soy and garlic. She loved the freshly steamed veggies, especially the marinated mushrooms. But they had breakfast burritos down the street from where we were, so we decided to give them a chance and WoW! This breakfast burrito is up there with mom's and the Fresno family!! My daughter loved her steak burrito!! The burritos were huge...we had to stop ourselves from overeating! Leftovers are the best, especially burritos!! Appeared to be a husband and wife, very pleasant individuals! I would say mom and pop, but they were way to young to say that!! The only thing my daughter didn't like was the sketchy looking people hanging out in the parking lot, but that's almost anywhere you go nowadays!! Oh and I almost forgot...they give you chips!! We had dinner from here tonight. Alan had a burrito and I had a carnitas plate. He'd intended to make a chard fritatta for dinner tonight, but it was warm enough that that idea lost its lustre and we looked for other options. We were more in the mood for takeout than going out, so when Alan suggested a carnitas tostada from Best Burritos I was interested. When he got there he discovered they didn't make tostadas, so he called me and I agreed a carnitas plate would be fine. He returned home w/ a gigantic burrito and a compostable container full of carnitas, rice, black beans, salad and a little grated cheese. Four corn tortillas were wrapped in aluminum foil. It was much like a Plato Gordo from Gordo's. The tortillas held up a bit better than Gordo's have been lately. The carnitas was a bit less consistent in texture: fatty and salty in some places, tough and dry in others, succulent in others. I liked the beans, rice and salad. I missed raw onions from Gordo's pico de gallo but I liked the sprigs of cilantro that were included. I'd have it again, although probably not a third time if the carnitas had so much inconsistency. Alan was pleased w/ his burrito. It was a satisfying dinner. read more

My ex bro-in-law and ALL of his friends LOVE these burritos. Well, the chicken teriyaki ones that is. Yep, this is an Asian/Mexican fusion burrito place that is decent, but not great. You are able to get teriyaki bowls, burritos and if you are daring, their nachos which are made with nacho cheese sauce. They do have brown rice, but sometimes it is still crunchy and not cooked all the way through. Other veggies too due to the other menu options. Nice people who work here for sure, but man, if you eat too much, the smell from the burps afterwards will kill anyone in the flats of EC!
