Been to the one on Cherry and the curbside service there was amazing. Came here and the site clearly told us to park and they would come out to deliver it to our car, there was even a sign that said product pick up so we parked and waited there for 15 mins before some fat white dude tells us we have to get in line at curbside??!! We get in line and finally were about to be served. The site emails you your order number and you just show it to the worker then they bring your product and you leave...at least that's how it was at the Cherry location. This black dude who obviously sucks at his job asked for ID after I showed him the number im like ok..then he asked what the item was! Like dude, do your job! Horrible customer service! Came in last night approximately 45 minutes before closing time with the clear intent to purchase an iMac Pro. I bought a Sony XR75X95J Tv for 2.7K! Great Tv reviews and picture quality but unfortunately mines came with a few dead pixels. I called bestbuy and notified that my new tv was messed up, the phone operator told me to take it back in store and get a exchange. When i went in for the return mind you this is a 75 inch tv one of the bestbuy guys unloaded the tv and took it in the store. Once i parked my car and went to customer service the lady was doing the exchange turned on the tv and BOOM my tv was now broken!! Wth both managers said it was physical damage that I HAD DONE! I noticed the bestbuy guy who unloaded was hiding in the back and also when he was putting it on the cart he used no protection on the tv side. After arguing and going back and forth they DENIED a exchange and took no responsibility! I bought the tv on 3/19 and went in 3/30 less than 15 days! So i was in the timeframe for a exchange aswell! I never expect knowledgeable or great customer service at Best Buy. Well I have to change my opinion insofar as the Best Buy in Compton is concerned. I am an IT professional but my knowledge centers around software and I am only so-so when it comes to hardware. I needed to accomplish two things: connect a blue-tooth headset to an older model Panasonic and connect it to my home wi-fi to stream Netflix. We were assisted by Benjamin and he had us set up with exactly what we needed, explaining the how's of the equipment he was recommending. I should note that had I not talked to Benjamin I would have gone with outdated methods of accomplishing these tasks, Benjamin has a VERY positive, friendly, professional manner. YOU can't read the terms of the insurance until after you purchase it. Aint that neat? They can say whatever they want to get you to purchase but the only terms that count are revealed after purchase. In America? Took my computer in as I had accidental coverage which apparently isn't really coverage plan, protection plan. After having waited 45 minutes to have them take my computer and tell me it would take 4 weeks to get it repaired and returned to me and if it couldn't be repaired then I would be given credit for it. When I explained I needed it sooner, ( I depend on my computer for school) I then waited another 45 minutes when a manger said not to worry it was easy to see it was unrepairable and gave me credit for it then told me to go look for a computer to purchase or exchange it with, after I found one which was as close as I could get because the credit was less $300 so couldn't get a comparable one. We returned to exchange it AND THE MANGER WAS SUDDENLY GONE, I was told sorry can't do it after all. WAS LIED TO?! & 3 HOURS WASTED?! The manger who was now available couldn't give me the credit AND once again I was told had to wait 4WEEKS to get a new computer, mine repaired or any credit! I've spent quite a lot of $$ here in the past but next time I purchase large electronics of any sort I'll go to Amazon! I was looking to exchange an item and found that this Best Buy was the closest that carried it (props to the Best Buy website for that capability). I've seen the huge sign for this retail complex off the 91 in Compton, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was both surprised and thrilled to find out that this huge plaza is just like every other retail space in the Greater LA area. The fact that this store is in Compton kind of makes you think twice if you want to possibly deal with being in a shady part of town, yet I found this Best Buy to be in your typical design-sterile shopping center. I prefer a boring parking lot over being asked, "Where you from, dawg?" The only thing that really sets this store apart is that it's a bit tinier than it's local counterparts. Most of its departments are up to 50% smaller when compared. So, don't come to this store looking for a CD from an obscure artist -- wait, I forgot, you don't buy CD's. I was able to get in, exchange my item, look around, and be on my way in under 10 minutes. read more

I usually go here on new release Tuesday's and overall i usually have good experiences here but this past Tuesday was not I found the new release DVD's i wanted but the one new release CD i couldn't. Ok so granted this place opens at 10am i get here around 11:45am so you figure you'll be able to get all the stuff you want to get but no this CD which was a various artists dance CD that was a new release and advertised in the weekend ad. My real issue is this CD had no tags or signs in the new release section so i had to go hunt for it in the various dance section which is a mess and not only at this one but many other Best Buys as well. So i go over there and the sale tag is way in the back of the rack and of course no CD's there so i asked one of the workers and he said it's probably in back and they didn't bring out so he goes back comes out and says he couldn't find it so he looked on the computer system and showed they had 2 left so he tells me it can be anywhere in the store i'm like WTF this CD just came out i don't believe within one hour and 45 mins this CD would be sold out that fast c'mon get it together. So got my DVD's and left. After work I went to the Torrance location and got the CD from there. Ok so a note to Best Buy when you advertise new releases in your ad's you need to place them in the new release section and move the older releases back to their normal spot it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out lol. read more

LAZY LAZY LAZY employees!!! Came to get Civil War. We only came to this Best Buy because we were closer and it showed that they had more of the Civil War blu rays in stock than Torrance. Hubby finds the Civil War display but it only had DVD's. No biggie, we look for help and this sloth like lady named Chloe comes and "helps". We asked if she would kindly check in the back if they had more of the Blu Ray's. Without checking she quickly responds that they are "all sold out and that no more Civil War blue ray's will be made and sold at Best Buy" LMAO are you serious?! She said that for the 3D Version as well. At this point we decide to leave because Chloe was obviously too bothered to help us. Needless to say we ended up ordering the blu ray online and picking up that same day at the Torrance location. I would only suggest coming here if you purchase something online and pick it up in store; saves you the hassle of trying to find it yourself because most likely whatever you're looking for won't be on the shelves. read more

Ordered a washer to be delivered. These delivery people called me once when they were on the way. I didn't hear it, and 20 mins later I called back. No one answered. No email, no text, not even a voice message, and they just left. When I called the customer service, they said these guys left a notes: called multiple times and no one's home. Such a liar. If they called another time, I'd pick up. If they really tried to deliver, the concierge will also call. Or at least pick up the phone when I call back. Train your staff Best Buy! I'm suffering from a pinched ciotic nerve which means that I can't stand or walk for a long time. I came to this store to get a tower fan that blows heat as well as cool air. I asked one of the employees that was trying his best to ignore me, if his store has them. He looks at his cell phone to see, then he looks up at me and says, no, we don't have any of those, so I go back over to where I was told where they're at, and low and behold there a shelf full of them. I go back to the clerk and say, "excuse me, you said that your store doesn't have any, I said, well then what are those and I pointed at the shelf, he looked at me angrily and came up with a convenient lie, and said, "oh, I didn't see those, and rolled his eyes like a girl. I asked him could he help me with trying to purchase one, he said that he'd get someone else to help me. He immediately returned to the Hispanic people and started assisting them. I waited, no one came. Mind you, I'm standing hunched over due to a pinched ciotic nerve, pain level is at a constant 10, everytime I stand or walk too long. I asked the other clerk could he help me, he said I had to go to the front of the store and they could help me. I go to the front of the store in extreme pain. I asked the two people standing there, could they hear me to get item that I need, the man standing there, replied, the woman next to him will help me. She has her phone in her hand and says, I need your name and phone number. I give her my name and number, she directs me to a chair to sit down and ease the pain in my back. I go sit down. I'm noticing all the Hispanic workers are helping other Hispanic people first, black people come second, and I'm sure that some if not all of them was in a Black Lives Matter march at one time or another. I sat there in pain, a little lesser since I'm sitting down. Time passed and I got fed up, and had to leave. On my way out, I said, WOW! you all just see your people only in this store! Not a one black employee to be found! So, wrap it up with a giant bow, THEY PREJUDICE IN THAT STORE!! If you're black, you gotta get back and wait, Hispanic people come first. I'll NEVER EVER DARKEN THEIR DOOR AGAIN, EVER!! Pros: convenient location, clean, safe, and plenty parking spaces. Most of the staff I encountered were friendly/helpful. Cons: smaller store which means smaller selection. Personal experience: I came to the geek squad to have viruses removed from my laptop. I was told that it would be ready in 3-5 days , maybe longer since I had forgotten my charger cord. That was fine with me. I got email exactly 5 business days later saying it was ready and to come pick it up. I came all the way down there only to be told that my laptop was so damaged that they couldn't completely install the spyware I had purchased ($199.99) with my package and that I needed a system restore done. GREAT! So, why didn't you guys just do it?? Why was I sent a completion email if you didn't complete the task??? The agent at the counter says , "I was just thinking the same thing. " Long story short , try giving the customer a personal call if you are ever in doubt on how to handle their equipment.
