I had an absolutely awful experience at the Atascocita Best Buy. My computer screen broke, and I urgently needed a portable monitor and a mouse for a project. I'm a frequent Best Buy member, and I count on their efficiency. I picked out the items quickly, but when I reached the checkout, I realized I didn't want two of the extra items I had initially considered. Instead of letting me simply leave them with him or restock them himself, the employee rudely insisted I go all the way to the back of the store to re-shelve them myself before he'd let me check out. This is completely unacceptable. I was ready to walk out and buy from another store, but I had no time. As a loyal customer, I expect much better. I told him Exactly what we did and instead of taking of the customer. He said he could not allow us to return it. Listen Top dog. First there is always someone above you. Second taking care of the customer that told you a true story and making it right even when we proved to you that your employees did not place a yellow sticker on how to transport your item and they didn't fully explain the warranty but still refuse to make it right for the customer let's me know that they dug to the bottom of the barrel to promote you to that position. You might say I don't know what I am talking about, well I'm a store manager at a different retail store and I would have made this situation right for the customer. If this Best Buy had it's way, your car would be considered complete at delivery if it was missing wheels. Consider this dilemma. You buy an open-box TV online, with the specification that all required accessories be included, but minor wear is OK. This isn't YOUR definition, it's Best Buy's. You drive 25+ miles to the store, for a gruff curbside fellow to "help" you put this entirely bubble-wrapped object into your vehicle. You get home and it's missing the remote. Not too bad as you already have a TCL in another room. It's then that you notice there's no BASE. That's right, unless you're wall mounting or happen to have the exact VESA mount needed, you have a big flat object you can't put anywhere. Note that TCL themselves doesn't consider this an "accessory" at all. It's considered part of the TV. You reach out to customer service who tells you that this store literally takes no inbound calls. They pass on your request to speak to management though and guarantee a response within 12 hours. This NEVER happens. You work with customer service who suggests emailing the leadership team at the store who should respond IMMEDIATELY. Once again, this NEVER happens. So, here we are a full MONTH after emailing the leadership team and no less than 7 separate calls to customer service...No response from the store. Safe to say, I'll never do business with this particular store again. I did work with TCL on my own time and my own dime to get the base eventually. They're definitely more reliable. read more

Ordered two Amiibo's thank God. One was completely beat up, like it had been stepped on or thrown. I asked the guy at pick up counter if they had anymore, he wouldn't make eye contact and said that was all they had. Didn't want to talk about it whatsoever lol. The other amiibo was in good shape but still. I don't think it should matter. If you purchased online and reserved for pick up , the product shouldn't look like garbage. It's hard enough to order anything online today with scalpers and everyone else buying everything up and then selling it for quadruple the price. I have recently had two new computers with issues unrelated to Best-buy and both the geek squad and sales associates have always been very helpful and informative helping me find the most economical and fast way to get my issues resolved. One computer they helped with I had unfortunately bought at Costco a LG with an extended warranty and received no help from LG or Costco. Best Buy found a cheap option that kept me working without interference or another $2k in 18 months for a third computer. read more

My husband and I were looking for security cameras and wanted to know about the doorbell ones. We asked if someone could assist us and the employee made an announcement on his radio for someone to assist us. After waiting around for a very long time, no one came to help and we left with out any information or product. As we walked out the door, there were 5 employees at the front, talking to each other. Great store!! I went to this location because I needed a new computer, mine quit on me. I did some research on the website before I went to the store and knew I wanted a Chromebook just wasn't sure what brand I wanted. It was mid-morning on Monday morning so the place wasn't very packed. However, they only had one guy working the computer section at the time. There were two people in front of me but it didn't take more than 10 minutes to help me out. I wish I had gotten the kids name that helped me because he was really helpful and awesome! I looked at my receipt to see if his name was on it because he checked me out but no such luck. He took the time to show me over to the Chromebook section. They had about 6-7 different brands available in the store. I had originally thought about getting the HP because that is the only brand I've ever used in the past. He explained all the facts and specs of the Chromebook, which I use the google phone so I am familiar with the uses. At no point did he try to up sale me or get me to buy the most expensive one just to get the sale. I ended up picking the Acer Chromebook 15 because of the larger screen and the 1080 HD. This one has the largest screen and a much better picture. I got this and a wireless mouse for $400, which after browsing the laptop section prior I realized how much cheaper the Chromebooks are. Laptops are crazy expensive!! How is this possible, everyone uses their phones now anyway!!!! They didn't currently have my model out on the floor so he had to go to the back with the large ladder and get it from the stock room. Once he came back there were probably about 10 or so people that needed helping. Instead of taking me to the register and getting someone else to help me out he called for assistance and rang up my purchase at his computer. Talk about great service!!!!!! All in total he spent about 20 minutes helping me. I've been to this location a couple of time previously and have always had a really good experience. As long as I live in the area this will be the Best Buy I visit. Great job, keep it up!! read more

These guys saved my week! I had went to another Best Buy last week and had been getting the run around by the store and Best Buy customer service with a recent purchase that I eventually returned....but the return left me with no device and a year of tech support. Decided to get my old device worked on and workable because I wasnt even in the mood to shop for another device at this time. Matthew was so helpful, but importantly transparent. He explained that I could send the device to the manufacture but there would bra charge.. and unknown charge until the device is looked at from them. He also explained that the tech support that I bought only covered software, not hardware, which is covered by the accidental damage plan (fyi regardless if you didnt drop it or damage it, hardware is covered under accidental coverage). I would be covered for tech support to correct the software issue but they couldnt even fix it with the hardware issue because it would be a liability issue. I understood my dilemma and was ready to walk away defeated and out of pocket, but Matthew waa able to see that the harware issue was minor and was able to make a temporary fix so that I could at least submit my device to tech support! You dont know how MAJOR it is when someone goes out of there way to help you. If this works, I will save a $1000 bucks buying a new device. That counts in this economy--especially when one is about to pay for school out of pocket!!! Even if tech support cant fix my device, my total hatred for Best Buy after last weeks fiasco at another store has been redeemed with this visit to this Atascosita store and Matthew's genuine customer care. Ive bought from this Best Buy before and felt beside myself that I went somewhere else. Ive learned my lesson!!! This is my go to Best Buy in the future for sure!!! read more

Advise to stay away from this location 19125 W. Lake Houston #1397, customer service and the manager are all very poor performers and rude. They try to resale USED items and I am not talking "Open Box" items. Went to purchase computer cables and after getting back home, open the boxes only to find the plastic bag ripped open and the cables heads were broken off! Not manufacture defects by far, these were returned items and Best Buy just simply put them back on the shelf instead of proper return to vendor. Called and they do not want to assist! Horrible customer service! We went to get phones under a new promotion and I guess sales guy didn't do it right because we're being charged a ridiculous amount from Sprint. We have gone to sprint store and Best Buy numerous times to no avail because they basically keep blaming each other. I also tried to get the managers name of the Best Buy in Atascocita to post a complaint about her but strangely enough they never answer the phone. Makes me wonder why store managers names and district managers names are not posted online on their websites...hmm, maybe because there's too many complaints on the lack of handling what a manager should handle. One young blonde girl is the only employee at the Geek Squad counter, a line of four customers. She looks totally lost and overwhelmed, running around asking assistance from other employees. You know, I am glad that I don't have to drive out to Hwy 59 to go to Best Buy any more. It is convenient to have the store here. Either my hub or I visit this store at least once a month to pick up something. We generally don't buy games, CDs or DVDs here, so I can't speak to their selection. We are generally popping by to get a piece of electronic equipment or an accessory. We like to give electronic gifts and have gotten several here. For a smaller store, they have great selections for eReaders, satellite navigation, computers, cameras, cell phone accessories, etc. You can also snag iTunes and Amazon gift cards there. We have always found what we want when we go. We also get help pretty quickly, if we need it. As we like to build our own desktop computers, we come to Best Buy to grab small things we might need, like a graphics card or a sound card. They have those too. Their prices are pretty good as well. although some online places are cheaper, if you run down to Best Buy, you have the thing in hand immediately, which satisfies the need for instant gratification. The whole chain offers great extended warrantees, which we have made use of when things go wrong. I would suggest you pop for the added expense, even though it might seem superfluous with the shiny new item in your hand. It worked in our favor when a laptop we bought there DIED without warning not to long after it was purchased. read more

Best Buy locations are generally fairly predictable. You can expect typical lackluster customer service and unknowledgeable employees. With prices being so competitive online, why even go to the store? I can honestly say that the Atascocita Best Buy location is different. I live very close by and have went in the store probably 20-30 times since it has opened and always had a great experience. As far as customer service goes, I couldn't be more impressed. The employees seem genuinely interested in helping me. At other locations, I feel like I'm being offered assistance only because it is Best Buy policy. The store also seems well staffed at all times so each employee generally has plenty of time to spend one-on-one with the customer. I'm generally a pretty tech savvy guy and I always do my research on a product before entering the store. Its usually easy for me to figure out if the sales person knows what they are talking about or if they are just spouting numbers off a spec sheet next to the product. The employees here have never disappointed. Once or twice a person has admitted to me they don't have the knowledge to assist me, and at that point they've grabbed someone who is more knowledgeable to help. I've had quality comparisons and suggestions provided and I'd definitely say the input I've received has been very valuable and helpful towards making decisions on my purchases. From the second I walk in to the second I leave the store, I feel like I'm being attended to. On those occasions where I just want to browse and I don't need help, they are friendly and understanding and not too intrusive. The only downside to this location is the DirectTV people that are sometimes in store. They can be very persistent. Possibly they are working based off commission, because its very, very difficult to tell them no. read more

But I asked one guy employee a question and he would rather play with the apple products then show me what I was asking for, instead he pointed to a general area and shushed me away. But there was another employee who was a woman and she immediately stepped up to help. I wish I had their names. The supervisor who was on duty a young kid who always sits at customer service and seems to think way too much of himself. Complained the whole time having to assist the young lady who was helping me. Honestly, this was one of my best visits to best buy ever!!!! I could not find this tablet in stock anywhere and I was able to find it at this location and Lola and Terrance did everything they can to help me find the tablet. Also, they mentioned that the clapping I was hearing was in support of St Jude's hospital. So I told them for the great service they provided I wanted to donate a great amount and they said people usually donate just $1, I asked them what would be a nice amount and I saw that $10 was one of the higher options, so I donated that amount and the manager was able to bring together Terrance, Lola, and the best buy staff to cheer loud and clap loud for St. Jude's. I quit going to Best Buy a couple of years ago because I hated having to wait in line at the Humble store. We go to the Atascocita location a few times a year. On our last trip it was way better than it ever was before. We were looking for Die Hard box set DVD's. they had it. walmart didn't. we were helped by Jack. he was extremely helpful & really funny. i didn't get hassled to sign up for internet or cable or whatever else they used to try to push on you. The best part: we checked out in the department where we got our dvd's. NO long line & maze to walk through at the front. much improved!!! read more

5 stars because of a single employee - big John at customer service! Went in seeking a car dash/window mount for my galaxy tab. Looked around, they didn't have what I was looking for, so I briefly stepped outside. When I entered the store again to look at appliances, the door attendant tagged my tablet with a pink sticker as they often do. Well....upon removal, the pink sticker took some of the leather backing with it off of my tablet case. Enter: John. He promptly apologized for the mishap and reported it to his manager for resolution. I mean, the leather of a tablet case coming off due to a sticker? Bizarre. Although his manager never did show (booooooo!!!), John offered me a replacement case, and when that didn't work, he comp'd me a gift card for the value of my case and then cashed it out so I could go purchase a replacement (which I promptly did). Who says your employees don't define your business and make/break the customer's experience? Asked one of the Best Buy employees in the store where the Ethernet cables are, she tells me in the tv section. I don't think she new what an Ethernet cable was, because there were no Ethernet cables in the tv section. I walked around and asked someone else and they told me where they were. Then I go to the front after finding the cables to checkout. The clerk asks what I'm setting up, I told him just a roku for the tv. Was using a POE adapter to setup tv for roku. He tells me I should setup a mesh network. . Please. Just check me out. I'm just setting up a roku, not a complete home network. I have friends who are so knowledgeable in the IT industry and get turned down by bestbuy all the time for employment. If you don't know what an Ethernet cable is you have no business working at Bestbuy. read more
