Recently went to bestbuy to purchase a pair of appliances.upon being greeted by floor person Michael I thought this would have been a breeze. Michael gave me the best custom service I've received in a while. After opening account and purchasing appliances I realized the purchase I just made was all in my wife's name no big deal right. Now the nightmare comes from delivery side of things I was told by Michael I don't need to buy their installment kit they can use my old ones. I received a call to confirm delivery date and lady on the phone said we will not be installing appliances because you didn't purchase our installment kit. I explained to her we were told we didn't need to by salesperson but if we did just add it on. I was put on hold and when she came back she said our mistake we give you the kit free but we have to change your delivery date from Tuesday to Friday. Well Friday comes and no delivery I call and was told they moved my appointment to the following Tuesday but did not no why there weren't any notes in the system on why date was changed. I started this unacceptable no phone call to let us know of the reschedule. I was told by supervisor on the phone either you get on the Tuesday or week after that would be next available appointment. At that point I tried to cancel purchase .I didn't want to do business with them that's when the other shoe dropped I couldn't cancel the purchase because my wife name was on the paperwork eventhough I open account in my name and gave all my information. Do not go here and buy their products. I just bought a Blu Ray Disc last night(Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) put it in my Blu ray player and it won't play. Called and spoke with a geek squad customer service tech and she told me my Blu ray player probably isn't updated and I would have to come in and their is a fee for updating it because the disc has a different software than my player, are you serious? I would have never purchased a Blu ray player knowing that I can't just buy a Blu ray and play it in the Blu ray player without upgrading my software. I will be sticking with DVDs from now. However the experience I had was horrible. I then asked the lady if I could return my disc that I Bought LAST NIGHT, and she said no because of California state laws about piracy, then hung up. Yes I'm more than upset that I have to spend more money to watch a movie on my only day off after working my graveyard shift to watch a movie that was supposed to play in my Blu ray player. I don't even get offered an exchange for a DVD? That I'm willing to pay a little extra for just so I don't have to be stuck with a disc I can never watch. They have ordered movies for me online, while the other Best Buys do nothing but tell you that you can get it online. My husband and I have purchased many things here over the years..laptops,appliances, dvd's etc..Last month my husband bought me a new laptop and they gave him a free anti-virus protection disc to use. So we installed the disc and after one week my new laptop got a virus (when using the anti-virus disc they gave me). My husband took it back to the store and wanted either a new laptop since the anti-virus cd they gave us obviously was CRAP or he wanted a refund. No go. They kept my computer for 5 days to diagnose the virus. They didn't even offer to fix it. Be aware of the anti-virus software they give you when you buy a laptop. Best buy modesto is a rip off. I bought a tv there for $3500.00 and had trouble with it from day one. They won't even exchange it or try to fix it. I am a member of the geek squad - which means nothing as it turns out. You can't even get them on the phone. Last person that dealt with my case would'nt even give me the store managers full name - or tell me how to reach him. I had rewards, which by the way means I shop at your store enough to have rewards dumby, and they expired yesterday. So when I asked if they would still honor it. She got snippy with her reply. This wizard from the clan of Mobile probably should'nt have spent most of his freaken time gossiping with his colleuges. Ugh where to start. 6 months ago we purchased a brand new, in box 50" flat panel LED from them. Needless to say it was a pricey experience (which we expected) but what we didnt expect was that we would open the box, install the TV only to find that the screen had a huge black line. We called BB to return it and they told us they would send out a tech. The tech comes out (two weeks later and after a missed apt) and tells us it is a defect and he will have to "crack open the TV to replace the screen". It takes another 30 days to get the part and they assign another tech to come out. He misses the apt. then calls the next day at 9 am to tell me he will be there in 15 min. I told him there was an apt for the previous day that no one showed up for he then tells me my apt was sched from 4 AM to 8AM! WHAT? I tell him not to come here as he is being exceptionally rude and derogatory towards me not to mention the fact that we had no apt shceduled for that day I had an apt. He proceeded to come to my house and ring the door bell for 45 minutes while my neighbors sat across the street watching him bang on the door and ding the door bell over and over and over. There is no way they sched apts that early and now I needed to make a complaint about the service tech too so I call BB...again. They tell me the apt was for the previous day and that they never sched apts at 4am. The tech was not only rude he was down right scary. All in all It took 5 months to get this issue resolved. Two weeks ago we decided to buy a new lap top. We went to BB again (they have put everyone else out of business leaving few options) and I had researched what I wanted so we walked in, picked out our Sony Vaio and told them to ring it up. TWO hours later we were still waiting for them to uninstall things they had put on there in hopes I would pay an additional $100 for. The next day it would not connect to the internet, kept freezing up and when it did connect it was as slow as slow can be. We took it back. They gave us a song and dance about how we will have to wait for a tech to diagnose and then they will fix the issue. Umm no. This time I just got my money back. Went over to Costco and bought my Vaio there. We will never again buy from BB. read more

Geek squad is by appointment only now. I went there to have my phone sent out because it was covered under their protection plan and I waited for 1 HOUR BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT! Then when it was my turn, it took 30 minutes before they finally took the phone. Now I have to wait a week for the phone to come back blah blah blah I hated it there but their regular sales staff is super nice. They don't make commission so they aren't trying to sell you something you don't need. Prices are CRAZY HIGH THOUGH IT'S CALLED AMAZON PEOPLE!!! read more

My brother came in to get his new Samsung Galaxy S7. It took awhile to fix the trade in thing. It's okay, I loved how they were very social and welcoming. Was very happy with the service when we bough a new stereo. However they sold us the wrong harness, there is no harness for my make/model. i really enjoyed my time buy my two half week back order washer and dyer that i bought at the same time also gave them my old ones which the dyer still worked but after they installed the new one incorrectly and did not inform me that the male attachment was bad and need to be fixed just used the new attachment meaning they left me with a new dyer not installed correctly. As contractors their obligations to use kit not have any standard parts like exhaust pipes. What a joke now i have no dyer still missing one appliance. Hope the warranty was worth buying this unit. :( read more

This review is on the quality of customer service. Specifically loss prevention. I literally just walked out of there after searching for an item. At 5:30pm as I walked out, the heavy set female at the door had been staring me down from the time I walked away from customer service to the exit. I'm wearing a t shirt and shorts! With a single pocket that won't even fit my I phone in it! What was the reason to be locked in on me, walking around clearly in need of assistance and neglecting to conduct an actual LOSS PREVENTION duty (your darn job!!) vigilance does not succeed you when you pre-judge and *misjudge while there were so many people who could have been watched. As I walked out of this Best Buy, the loss prevention female had already visually targeted my hands. As if I were holding something invisible yet, unpaid for. I was carrying my keys, wallet and cell. She said have a nice day while her eyes were still on my hands. I lifted them to chest level to help her better see what I was holding and said "I don't have anything that doesn't belong to me" and she replied "you're good" annoyed that I had challenged her very obvious mistrust. Now, let's get to my search. I walked in, asked the first guy for help. He was nice, radioed to another employee and the employee had gestured that he was busy and wouldn't help. Guy one directs me over to customer service and I stand in an empty line less than a minute before deciding to do my own search. I scanned every relevant aisle, had not gotten anywhere with that. I stood around a few times looking completely confused as there were so many employees walking around and not one of them to help. There was even a really big guy who, instead of asking if he could help, brought a ladder to where I was, climbed it and re arranged the tallest shelf there.... I looked for any person wearing a Best Buy shirt with intentions to ask for help. I turned and one of the employees zoomed by me, looking towards the ground so as to not meet my eyes. I figured maybe that's just the way they do things here so I went back to customer service. Asked the woman behind the counter for what I was looking for. After explaining it in the most remedial way possible, without looking at her computer, asking another rep or even directing me to go look harder, she abruptly without thought, blurted no we don't. I could feel the look of surprise and baffle all over my face and just left. Hey Best Buy, it's time to hire people who actually work for their paychecks. $1058 THEFT DONE BY BEST BUY MODESTO 1/16/2023 12:15PM. so the my story go's my home tv broke today. so i was told by a friend to go to best buy and get one there. so i researched different tv's till i found the right one. which was a 65" x90k on sale for $999 and online it said it was instock. so we go there and buy the tv. the customer service rep seemed to busy on his phone to help me. but finally came around to help. he went and got the tv from the back. the box he brought looked alittle dameged but still had the plastic straps on it so i thought it was sealed. so we took it home and started opening it up for found out it was already pre opened. so strike 1 then we kept going thru the box and found out it was not the even the right tv in the box. it was a used tv from a few years ago the xr65x750h which is $500 and 2 years older. so i took it back to the store and went to customer service and they told me it was not there problem and that even tho it was only 1 hour they still would not honor the warrantee and since it was not in the orginal tv that was in the box they refused to touch it. i couldn't even get an apology from them soooooooo rude. i then called the 1(888) number but they could not help me either and sent my call back to the store. which was also a dead end because they dont accept calls anymore. i will never go there again and will tell everone i can find to tell my story read more

Oh, this place. From the day it opened, my bad experiences here have outnumbered the good. However, sometimes you've gotta come here, right? You need something only they carry here in town, or there's something on sale. So, I try to keep a neutral attitude when I visit the place, and just get in and get out. Unfortunately, my last two experiences here have been trainwrecks and it's causing my neutral attitude to wobble. About a month ago, I came in to buy a phone case. I found what I was looking for and was pleased to see it was marked 50% off that week - $25, down from $50. When I took it to the register to pay, however, it scanned as being full price. I explained to the cashier that the case was 50% off that week, and was clearly marked so on the rack. She went to check it out and after much hemming and hawing, returned to the register to try to set it straight. She called for help on her headset, which took forever, and instead of smiling, chatting or doing anything to smooth things over, she just muttered to herself about how the people on the other end were laughing. I got the distinct feeling she wanted me to drop the whole thing and just pay full price. Uh, no. Finally, after close to 15 minutes of weird muttering and not engaging with us in the slightest as we stood there awkwardly, she was able to input the price manually and we paid and left...without an apology for the whole incident or any attempt at something resembling customer service. Was it a *huge* deal? No. But why send a customer off with a bad taste in their mouth? Fast forward to now. We came in to buy an appliance that was on sale this week. Upon locating it in the store, we noted that there were none on the shelf, so went in search of an associate to help. We found one all right - one who acted as he had far, far better things to do than assist us in spending $200 (this when the appliance area of the store only had two other people in it, who were clearly window-shopping). When he learned we needed him to go LOOK for something, he dawdled a bit but then admitted that there were several of the units available...they were just stacked up high and he would need to go get one of those lift things to retrieve one. Which he resignedly went to do. Since there were two other units that bore a lot of resemblance to ours, my companion asked the associate as he handed over the box, 'Is it the right one?' to which the guy humorlessly replied, 'I hope so.' And that was that. Once again, no 'thank you', no banter or anything to make the encounter pleasant, just a graceless employee leaving a bad taste in the mouth. Who in the world is training these people? No wonder Best Buy is circling the drain. read more

I was told about a discount over the phone so I come in to be told otherwise, the sales guy insisted that the iPhone 8 is too new to discount $200 and he said it with confidence but when I pulled up the ad online he was like oh that is for a different carrier. And believe me, we've dumped a lot of green there...so when my Mom's Plasma blew 2 days before the extended warranty was up....I wasn't upset that somehow (hmmm) she wound up with a NEW 55" Sony.
