There's a theme to some of my reviews this week and one of them is "laundry"! After my 15 year old LG Washer died mid-load and a trip to the laundromat, I shopped some options online and we went prepared to our local Best Buy. It was a Sunday evening so I don't know if that's why it was pretty much impossible to find an employee on the actual sales floor, but you can buy your stuff at the customer service counter and this is where my review gained a star. Casey D. was manning the battle stations like a pro and got us all set up pretty quickly. He was pleasant to work with but also efficient and suggested the membership versus the warranties. This alone saved us nearly $200. I know that the employees don't work on commission but Casey made our shopping experience pleasant. Our delivery is on the 24th so unless something goes south, I'll leave this review as it stands. No news is good news! read more

Hubs and I needed to buy a washer and dryer for his parents in Sparks. We shopped around online and found a deal for two machines around $400 each. We headed over and asked for help and within moments, a guy named Jared came over to help us out. He recommended we not go with that brand, as multiple returns had been made on it, and it did look kind of janky on the inside. After further contemplation we went with Samsung and Jared stayed close, waiting but not pressuring, as we made our decision. After making our choice, he walked us over to a computer and took all our information. At no point did we feel like he was trying to sell us anything extra. Although we did get three year warranty on both items, it felt necessary and not like a push for anything. We were given our delivery details and we paid easily and that was that! We also had questions about installations for televisions and he knew all the prices off the top of his head. Overall a great buying experience. read more

Went in to buy a Squishmallow. Was the last one. Asked if I could have the box for my kid. Manager said " no we reuse them when we get new ones". Firstly, no. All Squishmallow blind boxes come new in a big box. Your series 2 box isn't there and I bought the last series 2 capsule. You only had series 1 box but ok if a 60 year old man wants it. Cool. We recently purchased a Sony television from the Sparks store whereas they would deliver and set up. There was some confusion as to delivery and set up that was quickly taken care of on the morning of the set-up. We spoke to the Sparks Manager Pearce who had already been notified of our issue and was already taken care of. We really appreciate Best Buy's immediate response to this issue and thank Pearce for explaining everything to us. I should have left this review a few weeks ago when it happened but luckily I got the card of the person who helped us. I just found the card! My 80ish neighbor was given a Samsung smartphone and smart watch. I'm an iPhone person myself, but I got her set up on her phone. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the watch to pair with the phone. We tried to make an appointment with the Geek Squad and could never make that happen either. My 5 stars reflects our IN STORE experience. Trying to get through on the phone or internet to book an appointment SUCKED. Zero stars for that part of the system. We decided to try a walk-in to see the Geek Squad. There were people ahead of us so I asked at the customer service desk, if she could make us an appointment. I explained our frustration about not being able to call for an appointment. A lovely helpful conversation ensued with Ashley V. She asked to see the phone and watch. Luckily there were no people in the customer service line. She kept fiddling with everything. We stepped aside as she helped people who did get in line. One of those people told us how much she loves BestBuy BECAUSE customer service is so helpful! It took a while but Ashley was tenacious and she finally got the watch talking to the phone! And she did not charge anything. I was honestly shocked. I hadn't had a very good opinion of Best Buy in general, before this. But mostly due to return policies and warranties. This was my first experience with customer service. And it was great. Buying things here is an ordeal. I tried to get a cell phone here. People here seemed to be very angry that I spoke English. Then as I was leaving, without a cell phone, thank you, the checkout clerk tried to flirt with me as, what I could only presume is a consolation prize. The 4-star review is despite all that. Sparks is apparently a horrifyingly terrible place. I'm pretty forgiving. At a Best Buy in other cities, I've had experiences where they spent 15 minutes thinking I was stupid as I listened to them trying to sell me an extended warranty. At another Best Buy, I actually was stupid and purchased a landline phone as a gift: the box contained a completely different phone than the one shown on the box. Decided to go buy a new television from this particular best buy. I walked into the store and was not greeted like they normally greet the customers. The 2 guys at the front were too busy gossiping. I walked back to the TV section to see what they had, and the entire time I was in the store, no one came to assist or even ask if I needed help. After 15 min of standing in the tv section and even having an employee, look my way but completely ignore me I walked out of the store.on my way out there were now 3 guys who were standing at the front entrance gossiping. I ended up taking my business elsewhere to buy TV . It seemed that on this particular day, your employees cared more about their social life than helping customers. Allen at the register was polite and well educated on the gaming headsets. I'd been lost without his knowledge. He had a smile despite the busy atmosphere of Christmas and made me feel welcomed! He multitasked between answering his microphone and ringing me up while answering my questions very efficiently. Disappointing warranty and return policy. We purchased a power supply for a PC build. It was bad out of the box. This was the last one in stock or we would have delay purchasing it. We even joked about returning it and buying it again to have the warranty when we built it since it took time to get in other parts. They have a very short 15 day return policy so we now own a power supply that offers no power. The people at the store were nice, so I upgraded from one to two stars. read more

I have not been to a Best Buy in maybe over 10 years. I was looking for a projector for a camping trip to make it into a glamping trip so I decided to give some local stores a chance and see what they had to offer. Ugh Best Buy is definitely not even a good buy. Everything is tremendously overpriced and in some cases even outdated. Sure they price match but they are part of those stores where they only carry specific models exclusive to the store so you are not really able to find an exact match anywhere else for you to be able to price match. That's where the sales staff swoop in and claim it is because "this" model is better. Anyway, no projector that fit my needs, either too big or too (ridiculously) expensive. I also figure I would try and get an HDMI cable since I was at the store instead of ordering on Amazon and wait for two days. Hey even the HDMI cable was three times the price of the same cable on Amazon and oh, no price match on that cable because... you guessed it... is not the same "model" as the one you are seeing online. To my surprise, they had LEGO at the store so hey! Let me check it out :) Found me two sets AND they were on sale !! SCORE !! But who goes to Best Buy for LEGO? Well, me, from now on. If I could leave a ZERO STAR review, I would. I've been a Best Buy customer for over 30 years. I have a CC from them with a very high limit. That doesn't matter, because I am DONE with Best Buy. We purchased a pricey fridge from them on December 30th, 2024. The only delivery date that would work was Saturday, Jan 11th. They were scheduled to deliver between 11-3. Later on that day, I went to check the link they had sent me that morning. It stated we didn't have an appointment. Concerned, I called. Got somebody who acted like he cared. Fooled me. He said the system they use will clear the appointment out on the day of the appointment. He said he'd contact the delivery driver. I was put on hold for 5 minutes. He came back and SAID he had talked to them, and they were 30 minutes away. A BIG lie! Not 5 minutes later, I get a call from a lady whom I couldn't even understand. She told me the delivery person was sick and nobody was there to cover! Really??? After I took the day off, you're just telling me? Very long story short, they had to reschedule to the following Tuesday. They came early within the scheduled time. I asked the delivery guy if they could change the door hinge to the other side. They said they could, but a $75 charge! I said I could do it myself, which I attempted. Turns out the holes in the fridge were incorrectly spaced to match the hinge. It wasn't going to happen. A few days went by, I called BB to speak with warranty department, The Geek Squad. I got some MAJOR ASSHOLE named Alfonzo who basically refused to help me. Told me it was a Sunday and "nobody cares". I called him out on his attitude. He proceeded to talk over me, then added "just fix it yourself!" Then he hung up. So, I called back and filed a complaint against him. Horrible service and NO WAY to treat a customer. Returning the fridge. Best Buy SUCKS and provides ZERO customer service. Plenty of attitude, though. SHOP SOMEPLACE ELSE!! Well I can say the service is top-notch. But the selection really reminds me of fries electronics as they were going out of business there's less and less items and things are more spread out to make it look more plentiful. I don't think it's for the same reasons though. I just think that hardware just isn't as applicable anymore. The staff here are great I had some flybacks I wanted to do a little gag a while back They let me set them on a shelf and pretend like I was buying them. But that also got me thinking it would be really good if Best buy would actually carry real components. I know there's like little to no money in it but it would be a nice little addition just to have a corner somewhere with capacitors, resistors, diodes or just other things that people could use. Heck even some tools would be nice. Again I'm giving them four stars because the staff was great and you can tell they really were trying there's just not a lot of cool stuff and I see that they're now selling like plush animals and stuff like that probably to keep the business afloat read more

I purchased a back-up camera to be installed by the Geek Squad. I spent $15 at the carwash removing the mud from under my truck. I left the truck at Best Buy all day for the install. When we returned to retrieve my vehicle, it was not complete. Turns out the unit the Geek Squad member recommended did not fit my windshield. So, I exchanged it for a lower cost unit (and received a discount from the manager) and waited a week for the install. I was not happy with the install of the rear camera cable. As I mentioned, this is a truck, and the camera cable was loosely hanging under the body and draped over the inside of the wheel well. One part of the cable was just "tucked" under the mudflap. The camera itself was poking out from the top of the license plate, ready to be broken. I had to make the following correction's: Caulk the hole under my floor pan, where the cable came through, reroute the cable away from the wheel (I also enclosed the cable in a protective sheath) and I made a custom bracket to protect and hide the camera. I don't expect the Geek Squad to make a custom camera bracket, but the cable could of been routed better. One rock flying off the tire could have severed the cable. Also, the interior looked fine. Very professional. I have no problems with that. In conclusion, if you have a 4x4, you may have to make some mods. This post has been edited due to "complaints". read more

I came in here to upgrade two iphones. We have been on the iPhone SE and were in dire need of an update. I was promptly greeted and told the store employee what I was looking for, mainly the yellow iPhone XR or iPhone 11. He came back and unfortunately the only colors that were available were white, black and one red. I had him pull the white ones for me, but was kind of bummed that they didn't have the color I wanted in stock. He told me it would be like a 30 minute wait as he didn't work at the cellular counter. While it was a half hour wait just to be seen, but once I was to the cell phone counter I was able to start the long and dreaded process of getting a new phone and having those numbers linked. The customer service employee "Soso" was very pleasant to work with and help me make the decision on the XR over the 11. Getting both phones linked took the longest, but it wasn't his fault as his computer timed out and dropped half of my order. Two and a half hours later I left the store with two iPhone XR's in hand and very happy with my service! I am so excited to have a new phone, as is my husband! I'd definitely recommend going to this location for your phone needs as they work with and sell phones for all the major carriers, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T. read more

The customer service here is hit and miss. However, on the day in question it was THE BOMB!! Jerry helped us on 5/13/17. We were looking for a computer. It was knowledgeable, friendly, customer service oriented and beyond helpful. He gave us all the info to make the best possible choice for us. He also informed us that the computer in question that we were looking at was on sale and might not be on sale tomorrow. He let let us know that we could purchase it and return it within 14 days and not be out any money. The store did not have the computer in stock but Best Buy at Scheels had it. We drove to Best Buy by Scheels and purchased the computer. I took it home and charged it. The next morning I couldn't get it to turn on. I them plugged it back in and got it to turn on only to find that the battery was at 49 percent. It had been plugged in all night. It should have been fully charged. So we returned the computer to this Best Buy as they are the closest to us. The computer I purchased was a lemon. Jerry still did a smashing job. The fact that the computer didn't work was not his fault. We then met Josh. We worked with Josh because Best Buy workers do not work on commission. Josh was just as AMAZING as Jerry. He understood and informed us of all the available options. He was professional, kind and friendly. I took his recommendations and made my choice of a new computer. Again the store we were at did not have it and we had to drive over to the other Best Buy in Sparks to pick it up. These two guys gave such phenomenal customer service! So with Mother's Day coupled with my wife's birthday coming up I decided to get her a new car stereo receiver as well as a remote start for her Dodge Caravan. It's a 2016 and for some reason her stereo died. Also, she's very jealous of my remote start on my expedition so... I thought I would surprise her. The customer service was really good. As soon as we got to the car stereo area, a sales person named Wade was right there asking if we needed help. I had done some research online the night before, so I kind of knew what I wanted. In the monthly flyer, Best Buy was advertising free installation on car receivers $99 and up. This was a great time to buy a stereo since they were installing stereos for free ($99 value). So we got right to it, the guy looked up all of the specifications for the Dodge to make sure that not only did the stereo fit, but what installation brackets and stuff we would need. They didn't have the Boss receiver that I wanted, so I opted for the Pioneer lower end version ($179 installed free.) The up charges for this were $99 for the replacement steering build control brackets, antenna conversion for $13.99 and some wiring harness for $16.95. The guy offered a $10 switch that allowed us to play movies on the receiver while driving, something about a brake bypass... Whatever it was called, I said sure as we travel a lot and the kids can watch a movie I guess LOL. The next thing we got was a viper remote start system which was approximately $290 including installation. We got just the standard version nothing really fancy. In total it was $645 for a pioneer receiver, viper remote start, all of the brackets and stuff needed and installed. I'm pretty happy with that price. Wade was very friendly, and went and retrieved all the parts and stuff we needed. The only thing I could say it took quite a while to pick everything out, and Best Buy though very roomy didn't have any chairs or any place to sit near the stereos or the gaming area. My son wants nothing to do computer chair from one of the sit down office areas, and brought it over to me so I could relax While Wade did all the work. I seem to have the best service from this company! My microwave hood combo started to smell like burn. It's 12 years old and used regularly so I assumed I'd better replace it. I'm selling this house so I just wanted a micro with a matching finish, no bells, no whistles. Luis was my salesperson. Couldn't have been more knowledgeable and willing to search for a unit that wasn't too expensive and would fit my space. I think he checked 5 different manufacturers trying to find the best option for me...and I was out the door in fewer than 20 mins!!! The clincher is that it'll be installed in 2 days. Back in August I bought a stereo system for my jeep wrangler. After it was all done I spent around $2000 hours Ly's I tipped the installation guys over a $100 and even bought them a big lunch from port of subs up the street. From the get go my stereo would turn off and the volume would turn up super loud from time to time. I took back for them to check it and they said it was the harness or something. They replaced it and it still did the same thing. Then they replaced something else and Austin the guy In charged said if it did it again he would replace the stereo. Well it did it again and a new guy was in charge and he said it was the harness and something else. I told him that that was already done. He insisted that it would work. Well it got worse! He said if it does it again he would take the stereo out and have it sent to the manufacturer to get it fixed. I said no way! I want a new one or give me my money back. So I took it back another guy named Chris worked on it and said he thinks he fixed it and I politely told to put a new stereo in even if I had to pay extra for it. He did and when I was picking up my car the manager Austin came out and helped Chris with the transaction and Austin told me if this doesn't work anto bring it back he would have to give me my money back! That didn't sit well. He was implying that I'm a pain in the ass and they didn't want to deal with me anymore. He could of said Sorry for me bringing it back 4 times and that we are here if anything goes wrong? But no it was basically good riddens! read more

I said that's a California thing and I was told yes and that Best Buy is the only one doing it so far. We bought the 'total tech support' coverage for $200 a year. Huge mistake. It automatically updated after a year with an automatic charge, so now we're in for $400. A few days later my laptop stopped working. I called the $400 tech support. She determined that it was the fan but, because the manufacture's warranty had expired, hardware was not covered and I was SOL. Then she suggested I take it to Best Buy. Maybe they could fix it. Hahaha. After getting bounced around I was told that they would have to ship the laptop to Kentucky, it would take 5 weeks and cost about $200. But I could have the geek squad look at it. Maybe they could do something. But I had to make an appointment. After returning for my appointment I was told that they could do an intensive diagnostic that was so intense it might wipe out all my data. But for $65 I could buy a memory stick in order to save my data. Hahaha. No thanks Best Buy. But maybe you could interest me in a used car. Such schisters! read more
