I really enjoyed lunch at this place! They've recently rebranded to Austin Street Cafe/Bar & Grill…read more- and they have a sort of diner-esque vibe with a full-service bar ($7 happy hour cocktails!!!) They started us off with a croissant on the house, which was pretty good. Nice attention to detail as it was served with a heart-shaped side of butter. Also part of their happy hour menu are a couple select bar bites. I went for the chicken quesadillas, and it was a hearty portion at their price point. And it had a great flavor - chicken was nice and juicy. Natalie was our server, and was very attentive and friendly throughout our time here. And just when we thought it couldn't get better, Natalie and the manager brought us some cookies on the house to take home. Nothing but praise to be sung about this spot - I hear they're looking into possibly incorporating live music next. Will definitely be back - two thumbs up!

This place has been renamed "Austin Street coffee and grill" and has an updated menu…read more First off, I want to point out the great customer service from the young man working on a Saturday morning. I heard him making jokes with customers and asking people for feedback. Now to the rest of it: service is weird and slow. When we were seated, we had to wait a little bit until receiving menus. Water wasn't automatically given to us also, so you have to ask. A woman took down our order, but later asked if we got waffles, even though I said pancakes - overall took 25 minutes to get our order of a salad and pancakes. Pancake platter came with two pancakes, two eggs, and a couple berries on the side. There's also an option to add sausage or bacon but no price there, which adds to the confusion. When we pointed it out, they removed the charge from our bill. There were maybe 3 people who stood behind the coffee bar which is kind of around a corner, making it hard to get service if you're not in their field of vision. Kind of strange there isn't a clear welcoming desk or something like that. Also, I think the menu uses AI as photos - there's a picture of a burger with fries and chips, but I don't think they serve chips. There's also a picture of cake with garlic next to it, which could be an artistic choice. We didn't get any drinks, but there was a table next to us who abandoned their full cups of Nutella lattes which was interesting.

A must try in the neighborhood. The Rotana Omelet is by far the best. All food is delicious and the service is excellent.

THEIR BRANZINO IS THE BEST IN THE CITY!!!!! YES, I SAID…read moreIT!!! ASK FOR EXTRA SAUCE ON THE SIDE!!!! This is probably my 4th or 5th visit and each visit has us ordering the Branzino, that should tell you something. Also note, I'm not a 'fish person', and I can't get enough of this Branzino. In addition to the AMAZING BRANZINO, we enjoyed steak frites, oxtail croquettes, fried calamari and a Boston wedge salad. Everything was amazing and delicious. The calamari has a sweet honey sauce drizzled on it. The salad was fresh and crisp, delicious dressing and crispy bacon included. We were very full but there's always room for dessert. Tried the key lime pie, stellar. If you're in Forest Hills be sure to check out White Radish. Staff is very friendly and amazing from beginning to end. Restaurant noise level is low to average. I'll be dreaming of that Branzino sauce tonight, ah, until next time :)

And the place seems nice enough where it's not too loud. I was surprised to see only 1 other table. It's lunch time, I thought there would be more business. The service was good except the waiter kept on asking us if we wanted a starter. We politely declined a few times. The food was good. I ordered a cheeseburger and my friend ordered the 1/2 chicken. She said it was a little salty. But OK. My burger/fries was $19 and the chicken $22. Overall, it was OK. It is a nice restaurant. They should really offer lunch specials like the rest of Forest Hills restaurants. They can draw more people in for lunch. Bareburger has a lunch special $15 for any burger/fries with a soda. Mad for Chicken has lunch specials too.

The Food The cooking…read morehere is the real thing -- not the flattened, one-note version of Indian food that so many places settle for, where everything arrives tasting vaguely of the same sauce. At Tikka n' Talk, the spicing has genuine architecture. Each dish has its own personality, its own balance, its own arc from first bite to last. You taste individual spices rather than a generic wall of heat, and there's a depth underneath that only comes from someone who actually knows what they're doing. The tikka is outstanding and lives up to the name -- properly charred at the edges, smoky from real high-heat cooking, and still tender inside. That combination is harder to pull off than it looks, and getting it right every time takes skill. The curries have body and complexity. Sauces that have clearly been built rather than assembled, with layers that reveal themselves as you eat. Nothing is greasy, nothing is heavy in the bad way, and nothing tastes like it came out of a can. The bread deserves its own mention. Fresh, blistered, warm -- the kind you keep tearing off pieces of long after you're full. The Room and the Service The name isn't accidental. This is a place designed for lingering, and the atmosphere delivers on it. Warm, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming without being fussy. It's the kind of room where conversation flows easily, where you settle in without noticing an hour has passed. The staff are a huge part of that. Warm, attentive without hovering, and clearly happy you came. They know the menu cold and will steer you well if you ask -- including on spice levels, which they'll actually calibrate to what you want rather than defaulting to whatever's easiest. That kind of care shows up everywhere in the experience. Food comes out hot, timed well, and exactly as ordered. Basic things, but plenty of places fail at them. The Bottom Line Tikka n' Talk is the rare restaurant that's excellent on every axis at once -- the cooking is skilled, the room is inviting, and the people running it obviously care. It's become a regular for us, and I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who asks where to eat. If you haven't been, go. Order more than you think you need. Stay a while -- the name is an instruction, and it's good advice. Highest possible recommendation.

I ordered the goat curry special which came with a side of dal, bread rice and a sweet kulab gaman for $17. The goat meat was tender, the curry isn't hot or spicy, the dal had a hint of spice from mustard seeds, rice was cooked and fluffy. I used the bread to sop up all the food from tray. SO delicious!! With Uber Eats costs and tips, it cost around 25$.
