We ordered delivery, and it took about 30-40 minutes from the time we ordered online till we got the order, which isn't bad. We ordered some steamed dumplings which tasted good and were huge, like a bulls' sack. We also ordered the general tso chicken combo, which wasn't bad but could've used more chicken, but I guess they are cutting back due to prices going up because of bidenomics. Enjoyed a large sized portion of the Black Pepper Beef dish. It was enough to feed my brother and me! The included photo is AFTER we ate two plate fulls. We are now eating the leftovers. The black pepper beef is tender, sweet, savory and peppery. You can see the black pepper specks all throughout the dish. The sweet bell peppers and onions complement the meat nicely. At $13 (including tax), the large beef comes with one portion of rice. 3 years later and I'm still loving their food. The vegetable mei fun is always on point, dry and not a lot of oily, and loaded with fresh veggies like zucchini, mushrooms, snow peas, broccoli, and sprouts. The spare ribs are deliciously charred and the fried chicken wings are always crispy, juicy, and hot! They always have one of the better General Tso and Sesame Chicken in town. Decided to try something other than my usual Chinese take out spot because a flyer on my door step stating under new management and boy, my disappointment started from the initial call. I was asked to repeat my order and address several times because whomever was taking the order didn't really speak much English. OK I got through that open minded but delivery driver called me 5x just to ask what my address was. By time I got my food....well let's say about an hour after I called in, it was not even hot anymore. I ordered Won ton Noodle Soup (bland) and General Tso's Chicken (more batter than actual chicken) and needless to say I will never put myself through that ordeal again. Summary: "Just goes to show... just because you have the best garden doesn't mean you have decent food." Fried Chicken Wings: B- Have you ever fried something without adding any seasoning? Yeah, it tastes good because frying stuff always tastes good, but it's so ... bland. Doesn't taste like much. The fried wings here are boring. Bland. Flavorless. Good gosh, why not just add a dash of ginger? Some garlic? Jeez, how can you screw up fried chicken wings? The quality of the wings was so-so. Egg Drop Soup: C+ I'm not a huge fan of egg drop soup to start with. I find that it lacks flavor and is uninteresting from a culinary point of view. This soup is par for the course. Hot and Sour Soup: C- Flavorless. Hot and sour soup should use vinegar for sour, and red and white pepper for hot: red for immediate burn, white for the lingering burn. I detect NO vinegar at all -- there is no "sour" in this soup. I taste some black pepper, and perhaps a dash of white pepper: very little hot. So this hot and sour soup is neither hot nor sour. Additionally, there is cremini mushrooms, which impart the wrong flavor to this soup. Points for oyster and shitake mushrooms, but the soup is still awful. Additionally, it's customary to use pork slivers to help flavor the soup and egg drops to enhance the consistency, both of which are missing. This hot and sour soup is dreadful. I refuse to eat any more of it. BBQ Spare Ribs: C Too much sauce. Too sweet. I find it interesting that the cook (not chef) made cross-hatch cuts on the meat. I would love to know why, because, you see, there are two things wrong with these ribs beyond too much sauce. First, they overcooked the sh*t out of these mothas! They're burnt on the outside! But secondly, there's not enough fat. The ribs are dry, and lack flavor. Those of us who love eating ribs, whether pork or beef, love ribs because they're juicy, flavorful, and fatty. These ribs are not juicy, not flavorful (other than having too much sweet sauce), and not fatty. Any chef will tell you rule number one of meat: Don't cut into it -- you lose flavor and juice, so I'm wondering... why are these ribs scored in a cross-hatch pattern? What purpose does it serve other than to help overcook and dry out the meat? Lo Mein: C Flavorless. Lo mein is supposed to be flavored with garlic, peanut oil, and wok hei ("the 'breath' of the wok", or the "essence" imparted by the wok when stir-frying over very high heat.). All three were missing. This was nothing more than noodles fried in oil. No flavor. I received no pleasure eating it. Chow Fun: C- A broken heart on a train wreck in the dead of night. Flavorless. No garlic. No peanut oil. No "wok hei". And worse of all? The noodles are *gulp* al dente. WTF?!? I feel no compulsion to describe this travesty beyond "flavorless under-cooked stiff noodles". Horrid! Chicken and Broccoli: B OK, not bad. The broccoli is cooked nicely, and has the yet-yumminess that chicken/beef and broccoli has. read more

Ordered a large beef and broccoli from this place last night. It was basically broccoli. Like if they doubled the amount of beef, I still would've been disappointed. I got a little busy last night but I still wanted to call and let them know so I called up today. In the mood for Chinese so I decided to try this place based on the number of stars it got from everyone. I can't believe I've been driving past this place 200 times a year from the Douglaston Train Station. Anyway, I got the Pork Fried Dumplings based on Joe T's recommendation below, General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice so this is a limited sample. The price was $17 and change and I easily got enough for two meals. I have nothing but good things to say. I ordered on line from Yelp and when I called from the car to pinpoint the location, the owner ran out to flag me down in the street. Parking is a no go in this location but with middle of the street delivery, who needs it? Just put the emergency flashers on for 45 seconds and you have the food so I highly recommend ordering and paying in advance. The Pork Fried Dumplings were the best I ever had. Normally I'm a steamed dumplings guy but I went fried this time due to Joe's review. The consistency and quality was great. They didn't separate when you cut them in half down the middle. Normally when I eat dumplings I get the occasional bite with fat or cartilage and accept it since it's a cheap dish. Here, every bite was perfect. Browned on one side white on the other. The dish came with about ten of them and I ate all but two forsaking more of the General Tso's and Fried Rice for tomorrow. Next time, I'm going to see if I can twist their arm for some peanut sauce instead of the soy. The dumplings all look identical so it could be that they're mass produced in some factory for all I know but I'm not going to stand on ceremony when make this kind of impact. The General Tso's Chicken was solid. Not as good as Wild Ginger (or the all time best from Wu Liang Ye) but Wild Ginger is more expensive and Wu Liang Ye is in Manhattan. And the chicken was pretty high quality with the whole white meat piece visible on the half bite. The sauce was a bit on the mild side but flavorful. Shrimp Fried Rice was good and fresh. A great convenience for those commuting from the LIRR Douglaston Train Station. read more

Found this place on Grubhub and decided that all the reviews on here were worth giving them a try. "Fresh" isn't a word that I usually associate with take-out Chinese food (nor do I really want to... bring on the grease!) but compared to the options in my 'hood, this place is definitely better. I started with the hot and sour soup, very tasty with a ton of mushrooms, not too much tofu, and not starchy at all. Their egg roll was good, typical NY style. For the Ko Po Chicken, I ordered extra spicy. It was decently hot, but I really was hoping for havoc to pair with cheap & sweet riesling. I did like how everything was chopped up into nice sized bites, and they gave just enough rice for a pint to enjoy.
