That said, the egg foo young was not up to par and the sauce it came with (crucial) was garbage. The shrimp toast came burnt. Tried some classics. Food tasted interesting, little different from the norm take out I am used to. The pork dumplings were very bready and thick with bread flavor which I didn't like. It's not always about what happened, it's about how you make up for it. The restaurant sent us one wrong meal out of 4. I called to notify them and the owner, Katie, answered. I explained what happened and she not only apologized but offered to pay for the correct order personally, so that I wouldn't have to pay again. The issue was that I ordered the food through door dash because the restaurant is over the delivery distance limit. So, her personal driver was not able to bring me the order. All I did was reorder the food on door dash and I sent her the bill and she reimbursed me in full. This type of customer service is rarely displayed and needs to not only be recognized, but celebrated regularly. Personal shout out to Katie and the entire staff. Not only is their customer service amazing, they are very polite, and the food is always fresh and delicious. We have plenty of Chinese restaurants in our local neighborhood but we pay the extra fee just for Amy's. We've even eaten at the site once or twice and are always dealt with legit. Placed an order at 5:30pm. Was given a delivery time of 6:10pm. Giving them a 10 minute windows, I called the restaurant at 6:20pm. After ringing for a couple of minutes, a woman answered and when I inquired about my order I was told that they didn't even start to make cook it. Told maybe 20-30 minutes more. No apologies no nothing. The food maybe good but in my neighborhood (Bayside) there are plenty of Chinese takeouts just as good.
