My first time trying this place it was pretty good. The fried pickles were different but not bad. The honey mustard sauce was too sweet though. I am not a big fan of ribs but theirs were very good. The onion straws were also very good. Not a fan of their ranch or blue cheese. The burger was very big but a bit dry and overcooked. The salsa was pretty good as were the 3 pickles I got. The fries were very good and the coleslaw was pretty good but missing something. I tried their other sauces and they were ok. I was hoping for a bit more heat. Their beers on tap were not my favorite. Not a bad place. I would definitely go back to try some other items. read more

We did a take out order. Two hours. The food was delicious. The pulled pork was the best, turkey ok, brisket pretty good. It's very expensive. The hot wings were great. Ambiance is great. We have eaten here as a party of 5 several times and we aren't sure what happened this time. Only one persons food was hot. My bbq pork and chicken and my nephews brisket only tasted smoked and no bbq taste at all. Our server seemed happy to visit the group of 6 behind us with 3 older gentlemen but I tip a minimum of 20% for crap service and go up from there so she lost out. TLDR: great greens, good brisket sausage, tough chicken skin, excellent pork belly burnt ends, bland Mac and cheese. Went to dinner with my nephew and his SO. We were seated right away (which would not have happened during the summer), and were immediately greeted by our server. We were hungry, so ordered Pork Belly Burnt Ends as an app, Bany Backs for him, chicken sandwich for her, two-meat combo (sausage and Delmarva Chicken) for me. Food came out really fast (did I say we were hungry?). Pork Belly was really well cooked so had little excess fat, but was skinless so didn't have the crunch I was hoping for. They scarfed down their food in record time (I thing they liked it!), with great smacking of lips. My food was good, but had some issues. The chicken was moist and had nice smoke flavor, but the skin was really, really, really tough. The sausage definitely had a nice brisket flavor with just the right amount of heat inside and smoke outside. I'd definitely order it again! My sides were a mixed bag. Mac and cheese was pretty tasteless, but the greens were right up there with any I ever enjoyed in the Deep South. I normally like to add pepper vinegar; these didn't need it. Excellent! Came here Thursday night for dinner. Erin, our server, gets five stars, never mind the food which gets five stars. So, really, I have to give them a 10 star review! Erin had our water, cornbread, and drinks on the table in a minute. One of my cousins, who is so impatient in restaurants, had nothing to complain about! Good start! We got the fried pickles as an appetizer. They were okay. Not an appetizer I would have ordered, but I enjoyed them. We got a half rack with the Jack Daniels sauce, garlic mashed potatoes & bacon wrapped asparagus. Rib sampler with cukes/onions & some corn dish. Burnt ends sandwich with french fries. Plus a side of string beans. Everything was delicious, and the portions were large because we had leftovers. That explains why the place was packed after Labor Day. Never been to Bethany before. Sent the grown kids out on the town by themselves and needed to feed my wife and her mom. BBQ always works. And boy did it work. Easy on-line ordering system made it simple to choose, pay and get an ETA. The text system to pick up curbside worked perfectly. My food was brought out within a minute of the text reply. Then it got better when we dug into the food. Sorry-we were too hungry and thrilled to take pictures. Dry rub ribs, pulled pork and StLouis ribs were GONE. My bbq potato salad was a real treat. My rating is for the staff, which is wonderful. The atmosphere last night, however, was difficult. When the DJ started the music, it was incredibly loud. My hubby asked him to please turn it down. He said he could not do that. It was just, frankly,obnoxiously loud. The other DJ is much nicer. As we left, earlier than usual, we walked past the DJ and said it was just too loud. He replied, sarcastically, it's a bar! It is also a restaurant. Families are there with children. At any rate, we will try it again, but may go upstairs if it is that noisy again. read more

Bethany blues is in the heart of the touristy area and mostly you would need to walk to it or find street parking that requires meter payment. If you can get past that hurdle of finding a place to park/walk, dinner time is about a 25 minute wait on a Friday at 530ish. When we found out there was a wait we went straight to the bar instead and it really worked out because the bar turned out to be a much better place for us to sit instead of waiting. We managed to get two prime seats side-by-side where no one else faced us & more of a private bar seat-----lucky!! The people that manage or serve the bar were so insanely friendly it was hard not to really enjoy having a drink and eating good food with a really nice staff. First there's some things that you should know and that is happy hour ends at 6 PM. Its your most basic items & drinks. There is corn bread used as a complementary part of your order. I had a Carolina Cuban That was a pretty big portion and it came with fries that were seasoned with salt and pepper and coleslaw ($15). My husband had a Blues burger ($15) that was just a little bit smaller but still he was very happy and he used it with some of the barbecue sauce that was spicy, which he loved. It looks like there are two barbecue sauces at every table that are spicy or mild both of which are delish. I will gladly come back here again but I think mostly with us, just kind of winging it, we got lucky with the parking and the bar seats. read more

I feel like there is a trend in this area where restaurants are cutting back on ingredients and quality. Is that going on here? I've eaten here for some years now, and have always like the food, but at my last experience here I found all the food was a little disappointing. Before I give a few specifics, let me say that we did a small catering order earlier this year, and everything was fantastic--our guests truly enjoyed the food. It is because of that experience that I'm giving a 4 and not a 3. At our last meal, more than one person felt that the pork was dry--yes, we go ahead and put BBQ sauce on it, put it should have been moister and more tender to begin with. The BBQ brisket cheesesteak had the canned (I think) chipotle peppers, which don't really have any heat--why not fresh jalapenos? And they used to have really good French Fries!! But now they are going with that batter-dipped style--and I don't like those. read more

Had spent $600 on gifts certificates, where not able to use them due to COVID restrictions, and the resturant being closed. We there today, and was told I can't use my certificate because it expired. Bethany Blues always has delicious food. I love that there are a variety of options, and they're incredibly accommodating of a GF diet. I also had the most amazing service at the bar after alerting a bar tender to my severe grapefruit allergy when I noticed they had grapefruits at the bar; he was amazing and so cautious to wash his hands before touching anything he served me to ensure there wasn't cross contamination. First time ever coming to this restaurant and will not be the last. The parking lot is not very big. I had to park in another lot across the street, so don't let it fool you because the wait wasn't long even though it didn't park in a lot. Started out with an awesome martini. I don't remember which one it was. They then give you amazing corn bread to start. We opted into getting a few appetizers, and they were ALL amazing!!! Started with delmarva deviled eggs for $1.95 each topped with lump crab meat and old bay they were very tasty. Got the pork belly burnt ends for $14 they were also very tasty. The last appetizer we got was a special bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops in bbq sauce. Our entrees were just as wonderful as the starters. I ordered the pulled chicken with corn and baked beans for $18. The amount of chicken you got was a good amount, and it was very delicious, especially smothered. In their housemade bbq sauce, and the corn was in a crap load of butter but was soooo good!!! My boyfriend got the smokehouse Mac skillet for $18 it was a nice portion with lots of pulled pork that was delicious. My cousin got the ribs and sasuage for delmarva Duo for $28 . The portion sizes were super generous and they have a huge list of drinks and cocktails. We got takeout from Bethany Blues tonight. We ordered a Blues Burger, Chicken Caprese sandwich and a Chopped Brisket sandwich. Unfortunately it was a $45 disappointment. The burger was supposed to be cooked medium -it mostly on the rare side. The brisket sandwich was a large percentage of fat and Caprese sandwich lacked flavor. The coleslaw looked very dry and old. This time we tried something a little different than the typical barbecue food. The crab cakes were full of crab meat, not a lot of filler, and quite tasty. All of the sides were incredible as well. The green beans were the best! The smoked caprese chicken sandwich was juicy and the balsamic was the perfect touch. Oh and how could I forget to mention the cornbread!
