I came here with my team for lunch since we were in Morgan Hill and this was their go-to spot. I could see why, it's in a decent plaza with plenty of neighboring traffic/exposure! I ended up ordering the California Chicken Sandwich with bacon, and avocado on grilled sourdough bread (I opted for no jack cheese) and fries. The waiters are very friendly and came by to chat with us about our day and fill our coffee frequently. I wasn't very hungry that day, but the food was really good! It was filling and very well made. The fries were also amazing, I let them steal a few since I was unable to finish everything. Ambiance is very all-American diner-esque, this place still had an ebb and flow of customers at 1 pm! We found this restaurant through Yelp on our way out of town. We sat at the counter and our experience was spectacular. This is a family owed restaurant that has been open for over 40 years. The service was extremely friendly, we left feeling like family. My boyfriend ordered the chili verde burrito which was recommended by one of the family members and I ordered the Southern Breakfast (eggs, potatoes, biscuit & gravy). The chili verde had amazing spice and was delicious. The portion is big, so come hungry. They have a green salsa which doesn't come with the burrito but be sure to ask for it, so good! It shares a door with the bowling alley, the perk with this is it gives you access to order alcoholic beverages. This was our second time visiting Betsy's restaurant and we will be back for sure! Jennifer (hopefully I have the correct name!) was our server and was so attentive! When we asked about the history of the restaurant, she shared that it has been a family owned business for decades. While we were there, we witnessed numerous people being warmly welcomed with "how is your mom?", "how was the trip?", etc. The food is yummy and Jennifer helped our friend customize his meal. What can I say, overall great! The staff works together and gets everything done in the quickest way possible. It's like a finely tuned machine even though they are always packed. Was in town for a wedding and breakfast is my hubby's favorite meal of the day so I hopped on yelp and this place was one of the top selections. I told hubby to pick where we went and he chose Betsy's. After our meal it was clear he made the right choice!! Walked up and there was a line outside but thankfully they had a bar area (and we don't mind sitting at a bar) so we were able to sit down immediately. Service was great-staff was very nice!! Food was delicious!! Hubbys meal was the omelette and hash-browns and it came with pancakes so I ate those and ordered a side of Italian sausage and over medium eggs. It's been 4 yrs since I last reviewed Betsy's and it's still one of the best places in the south bay. All of the employees are friendly and helpful. The family that run it are amazing people. From mom to the daughters and cousins, even the grand kids work on occasion. The food is better than homemade, from the corned beef to the chicken fried steak and chili verde . You can pick anything on the menu and you won't go wrong. If you have dogs they have a pet friendly patio for you to enjoy. We bring our two dogs everytime we go. read more

The combination of this whole plate was delicious. I dined outside due to covid for just myself. It wasn't as busy but I sat on the wall by myself which is nice. Sometimes sitting alone seems a little awkward but I enjoyed it. Waitress came around twice. Once to see if I was ok and then second time to place my bill on the table. But what is nice is their staff is friendly and the food comes out fast. I have a lifelong competition with my brother to find the best chicken fried steak on the planet. When a friend told me that Betsy's had the best one he ever had I had to try it. The opportunity came when we found ourselves in Morgan Hill shopping at our favorite produce stands and wineries. I was told that my favorite, Chicken Fried Steak, was a hand tenderized New York steak topped with house made gravy. So many restaurants serve what appears to be a frozen breaded product and a pasty premade gravy. Scanning the menu I was also surprised to find the offered my wife's favorite house made corned beef hash. I ordered both. My wife chose hash brown potatoes and I chose the country potatoes. Both were good choices. My Chicken Fried Steak and gravy was as good as my home cooked version. My wife's corned beef hash plate is her new favorite. We will be back. One thing worth noting is that they close at 2PM. We got there at 1:30 PM but they we were not rushed when our food got there close to closing time. read more

The people of the town and restaurant are so nice and welcoming it was incredible. The walls had memorabilia up and the ambience was setup to be exactly like a local diner. This place is like a hidden gem. We have been coming to Morgan Hill weekly for years since my sister in law lives here, but we just moved to Morgan Hill last year. We're still exploring the town and discovering new places. One day, I drove by with my husband and saw a bunch of people waiting outside, so I searched them up on Yelp. I figured this place had to be good because the location was more hidden, and despite that, there were so many people waiting to eat here. After seeing the menu, I knew we HAD to come back and try it. We came with our friend the following morning and we all pigged out My friend ordered the country fried steak and also the chorizo pile to share. Everything was so delicious. I LOVE their pancakes...they're crispy on the outside and chewy and fluffy on the inside. I got a chile verde burrito (it comes mojado aka wet) and it was the most delicious chile verde I've had in a really long time. My husband got the chile verde plate just loved it.
