Clean, Consistent, Affordable Coffee Shop! I tried Better Buzz in Vegas and really liked it so I came to the Costa Mesa location. I was not disappointed! Better Buzz's coffee is not anything too fancy, but if you're looking for a good, consistent iced coffee, this is the spot. You can get their Best Drink Ever for under $6, which is a steal in this economy. The Best Drink Ever I ordered was quite sweet, so if you prefer less sugar I would suggest adjusting the sweetness levels. The interior is clean and there's ample seating. On a Friday afternoon, I found this location to be a nice place to study at. Easy parking, yummy drinks, and quick service make this Better Buzz a place I will definitely be coming back to!

    Matcha Latte

I stopped by Better Buzz Coffee in Costa Mesa and ordered a hot Matcha Latte with oat milk and real honey. Was it okay? Sure. Was it memorable? Not even close. The biggest issue was the texture. A great matcha latte should be rich, velvety, and full-bodied, with a smooth creaminess that complements the earthy matcha. This one felt thin and watery, lacking the depth and silky mouthfeel I've come to expect from a quality matcha drink. The honey added a touch of sweetness, but it wasn't enough to elevate the experience. The flavors felt diluted, and the drink never developed the comforting, luxurious character that makes a matcha latte worth savoring. For a coffee shop that generates so much buzz, I expected more. The presentation and reputation may draw people in, but based on this drink alone, the buzz wasn't matched by the cup.

Good coffee shop, nice and clean. Huge parking area. I got my coffee drink half sweet as the normal sweetness is too much for me. Baristas were friendly and it's a nice place to hang out. Open daily really early and stays open later than most coffee shops.

Stopped by to get me some iced coffee for the day. Busy place in the morning, but goes quickly. Easy and big parking lot w/ plenty parking spaces. The store is smaller comparing to others store but still spacious and got indoor seating against the glass window with view of the parking lot & streets. Great menu as like other stores with great pastries displace glass case. Great service and quick turn around (since my drink is east one). Overall nice and lovely store for sure.

Supposedly banana pudding best drink ever... it was not.

I've only had one drink here however if a place is going to claim an item as the best drink ever it should hold up to its description. The coffee I ordered was the "banana pudding best drink ever". Which is basically an americano with a touch of milk and vanilla for sweetness and a banana pudding cold foam. The coffee was strong so it hits the buzz part and the two Nilla wafers were good. The cold foam... I tasted zero banana, zilch, nada banana flavor at all. The inside is set up okay and it's cold in there so be prepared. They have a fair amount of offerings and some cool looking merch so I'd say they focus more on the aesthetics and branding than making good coffee. They do have good pastries though which is what kept them at a two star and not a one star. The person taking orders was rather rude and not very personable. She didn't seem to care to really be helpful in explaining some of the drink items. I'd say it's a place that tries to just play on hype and not substance.

This place is so vibrant! The staff is welcoming. They have a ton of drinks and snacks to choose from. I ordered the Moroccan Spice Iced Coffee and absolutely loved it! the spice kick was amazing! It usually comes with cream, but I asked for no cream and it was still so aromatic and flavorful.

Such a cute place! Fast, friendly service. Many options on the menu. Also, drink of the month. My vanilla oat milk latte was delicious. The chili crunch breakfast wrap was so yummy. Fresh & prepared on the spot. The bathroom was cute & clean. You do need a code to get it. Customers only.

    Carnitas Breakfast Tacos

Stumbled into Better Buzz looking for a quick caffeine fix and honestly wasn't expecting much. The menu is simple and straightforward, for people like me that can be indecisive. There was little to no line, and the cashier Alexis recommended the carnitas breakfast tacos when I ordered and got me signed up quickly to start earning rewards. Gotta love people that want you to win and she's so sweet. So the breakfast tacos.. These things are genuinely good. Pretty flavorful, satisfying without being heavy, perfect as a snack. I'm already thinking about when I'm going back just for those. Apparently They were running a deal that paired the tacos with a vanilla bean latte for under $10 out the door. For that price, you can't beat it. Other coffee shops should take notes on promos like this. They have free wifi for us remote individuals, good seating with great music taste. If you're in the Costa Mesa area, don't hesitate .. just get an order in

Quick and easy spot to get coffee - the coffee is good but can be on the sweeter side. The "best drink ever" is a bit too sweet for me, and the vanilla bean latte is just under sweetness for my liking. The service was good - the worker/barista was friendly and helpful in providing suggestions and giving realistic feedback wait times. Ambiance is as you'd expect for many coffee shops - don't expect it to be quiet. It's also very cold in there, but maybe that was just the day I went. Overall, pretty good, not sure if I'd come back just for coffee, maybe would need to give it another chance but with adjustments.

I'm so happy there's a Better Buzz on my way to work! I order on the app as soon as I leave the house, and it's ready for me when I arrive- such a time saver. There are so many drinks to choose from, but lately my go-to has been the iced vanilla chai latte. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. The store is also so clean too. It's the perfect start to my mornings! Check their instagram for sticker drops :)

Better buzz coffee is hands down one of the best coffee chains. I came in around 1:00 on my lunch break. At the time I came in, it was not crowded. Upon entering I was greeted by staff and asked what I would like to order. After reviewing the menu, I decided the horchata latte would be worth the try. My coffee was surprisingly done very quickly. Which to me stands out as the service is quick. Upon tasting the coffee, I was even more pleasantly surprised. The coffee was perfect, you can tell the beans are not over roasted creating a nice smooth coffee flavor. The latte itself was not overly sweet, which is a bonus. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating offering a variety of options. In addition, the parking lot has plenty of parking, but can get crowded with other establishments. The only downside to this location is no drive thru. However, I can't wait to come back!

Better buzzed off caffeine to energize my work endeavors!! Drink: Horchata iced latte has been my favorite superior choice. Both times been executed well and not overly sweet! The house made horchata (cinnamon rice milk and almond milk) is paired great with their espresso. This is not fake powder horchata which enhances the drink overall in its appetizing. Food: The Yogurt bowl included honeycomb, granola, fresh berries and Greek yogurt but coconut yogurt is also an option. It was a simple yet delicious choice. Service: They were efficient and easy to go orders. I appreciated the secure and sturdy containers. Overall: ole faithful horchata iced latte for the win

But unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. We waited an hour and a half for two sliders and macaroni salad, which, in my opinion, was definitely not worth the wait or the time. The kitchen got backed up, and they even had to stop taking orders/refuse service because they were so overwhelmed. What really surprised me was that they didn't offer anything to the people who had been waiting over 1 1/2 hours--not even a pastry or small courtesy item. Since they were getting ready to close, I would think offering some of the pastries that might otherwise go to waste would have been a nice gesture and would've gone a long way with the customers who had been waiting so long. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it, but I'm not sure I'd go back for the food alone. Maybe I'd give it another shot if I was there for drinks and the vibe!

I was deciding on where to snag lunch on my way to another store doing my rounds and I really wanted a sandwich. I decided to get the Turkado, some dirty Maui chips and drink. The total came to $17 and some change, not bad about the avg for the area and any lunch. The service was great, the woman who helped me was nice, and efficient, she helped me select what chips to get. Not much bantering but I do enough of that at work, so all good here. The store was clean, nice vibe, music. My order was ready in the time it took me to fill my soda cup and sit down to scroll 1 scroll thru outlook emails. Maybe 5-7 mins the woman who gave me my order asked if I wanted some secret sauce on the side, and put it in the bag. The bag felt heavy! The sub was huge! Probably 8inches bread was nice and springy, there was enough lettuce, tomato and sauces on it. I love the sunflower seeds, gives it a nice little crunch. The meat is more of a very thin piled high but there is a lot of it! I like how the sub is assembled meat, cheese, toppings sauce, it seems to hold together nicely.

This review covers my experience across multiple locations, including Harbor Boulevard in Costa…read moreMesa and Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach. When I first started coming to Board and Brew, I would have given it a solid five stars, but my perspective has shifted after six years of exploring other local options in the county. The Evolution of the Experience: * Ingredients: While the food is definitely better than a pre-made deli sandwich from a grocery store, it isn't exactly top-tier. The bread and meat are good, but as you try more specialized places, you realize these are fairly standard. * The Famous Sauce: Their signature sauce is tasty, but it feels like it contains a high amount of monosodium glutamate (MSG). MSG is a neuro-exciter that can make people feel overstimulated or unwell after eating it, and it feels particularly intense in this recipe. * Consistency: Both the Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa locations were great initially, but they now feel more like a solid, middle-of-the-road option. The Best Use Case: * Catering & Events: Even with a three-star rating, this is absolutely the place I would go if I needed catering for a birthday party or a large event. Their pricing and preparation for bulk orders are hard to beat. Final Thoughts: If Yelp allowed half-stars, I'd probably give this a 3.5. It's a reliable, solid sandwich shop, but the ingredient quality and the intensity of the MSG in the sauce keep it from being a five-star favorite for me anymore. Edit: The owner replied to my comment about how their food is high quality, but 6 years of taste testing says otherwise. While you may not add pure MSG crystals to your sauce, it still contains MSG.It is misleading to claim "No MSG" or "High Quality" when the sauce relies on ingredients that are chemically identical to it. For instance: Tomatoes and Tomato Paste: These are among the highest natural sources of free glutamate. If the recipe uses tomato paste--as many copycats do--it will test positive for MSG. Soy Sauce & Worcestershire Sauce: Both frequently cited in recipes for this sauce, these contain naturally occurring MSG through fermentation or hydrolysis. Nutritional Yeast: Often used to provide a savory flavor, it naturally contains high levels of glutamate.Hydrolyzed Proteins: Ingredients like "hydrolyzed vegetable protein" (HVP) or "yeast extract" are processed specifically to release glutamates. Legally, a company might say they "don't use MSG" if they don't add the pure additive, but that is a technicality. MSG is linked to various health issues for sensitive individuals, and just because many consider it "safe" doesn't mean it's healthy or non-harmful. If the food is truly "high quality," why rely on these additives to create flavor? Best Wishes
