These college boys did a great job! They showed up on time and worked very hard all day long. I never thought they'd be able to fit all of my furniture and odd sized boxes in their truck and trailer! But they did it! Two 10x10 storage units filled to the brim! It was like a Tetris puzzle, getting my things safely packed and ready for the move from Orange to Big Bear. I have some very fragile and sentimental things, including a Steinway piano and they handled ALL gently and with care. Young and strong and great "willing to work" attitudes. They missed one scheduled delivery and then showed up 5 hours late, after I had reached out to them for an ETA for the next scheduled delivery . Then they were going to leave all the wrapping on the book shelf until I asked them to take it off. I assumed they would dispose of it properly, but instead they filled up my neighbors only trash can. My neighbor called their company, and Truck U did come back 2 days later to empty the can. I was really hoping these guys would have been on their game, but NO. I should have been weary from the start. Would NOT recommend for home moves, maybe for really small pickup truck sizes, but anything over a 1 bedroom apartment is bound to be a train wreck. At least it was for me. I should have just gone with Northstar Movers like I had originally planned, they know what they're doing, and are super quick. Plus they use three really buff dudes with all the proper gear vs two rotating guys who just got out of class. I ended up paying about the same in the end. I guess you get what you pay for. Here's the breakdown with Truck U Movers: - 9:30 AM scheduled arrival, nope, LATE 10:30 AM. - Original quote was for was $279 flat for 4 hours. Ended up paying $400 plus tip for 8 hours, which I feel like I should have held out on. - They had to make two trips because the truck wasn't big enough, ugghh hello! - From San Pedro to Long Beach, so mileage charge was minimal, fair. - Not sure what took so long, finally showed up at new place 4 hours later. Did they take a lunch break? - Then had to fight to get rest of things delivered same day, extra delivery charge over original quote. - No receipt, cash only. - Finally completed by 11PM. OHH my GOD !!! Went to old apartment next day and they left several things behind that I had to pack into my car. I said don't worry about bathroom, that's okay. But they left items that were in a closet and some other things in the kitchen that were ready to go. So all the guys were nice enough, but they are not real professional movers. The organization and coordinating was TERRIBLE. They rotate guys because of school. This was just a one bedroom apartment. Slightly full, but not grossly. Sorry guys, AWFUL experience. read more

We used Truck U for a move from Long Beach to Wyoming. We had used them for two small moves previously. I had tried to get a well-know moving and storage company but couldn't on short notice. We made arrangements through Gary for the moves and cost. We would have to make more than one move because we were packing the house but would need everything stored on the other end. For the most part the move went well. We had problems where the crew was delayed in showing up but when they did, everything moved along. I had a big problem with the last day of the final move. Gunnar brought his girlfriend along and apparently they had made plans, so left before everything was loaded on a truck. Our remaining items were left in the driveway with his assurance that they would be ok like that. I had lived in Long Beach my entire life and due to the rising theft in the area, I knew that not to be the case. I sat in my car for over three hours waiting for someone (Dillon) to arrive. Gunnar would not answer the phone calls and I was extremely upset. My sister sat with me in the car. She had a knee replacement the week before. Once things got loaded, the truck would again be headed to Wyoming. My husband met Gunnar at that end. He observed damage during the unloading by Gunnar. We found quite a bit more after we starting moving things into our new house. One was an antique chair that had been in good condition prior to Gary and Gunnar loading it. It had quite a bit of damage at the Wyoming end. A lot of our wedding china was in pieces, a brass lamp that had been well packed and bubble wrapped was broken in half, a chest-on-chest dresser had a split up the side panel, a 50" flat screen that had been in a box and well padded had a broken screen, two brand-new computer monitors in the original packing boxes and our granddaughter's student desk purchased the month before the move had a big hole in the top piece. We had other items that never made it to Wyoming. They might still be in their storage building. I informed Gary of damages and asked the name of their insurance company to which he replied "send us pictures and we'll decide if we're responsible." This led me to believe that they are uninsured for damages. A WARNING TO THE WISE We had originally decided to pursue the damages but after enduring a catastrophic hail storm that left our house with considerable damage, we're just not up to it any more. If we had to do the move over again, we would go with a professional moving company (with insurance). They are two college kids with a bunch of friends that help them. It's fine as far as that goes, but they want to hustle and move the stuff without any guarantee on what the condition the customer's possessions in. read more

I had a really bad experience. I did not get 'Dillion and Gunnar' but got the assistants. On the phone I was told that 'The truck has a lift'---No, it had a ramp and that is not a lift. This was a big problem. There was damage as the 2 guys didnt seem to have enough experience in moving heavy, large stuff. Sorry to mar the mostly 5 star reviews but my experience was bad. read more

I called all over at 8pm. When Dillion answered he was able to get me a truck to haul my bed in just a few quick minutes. Great customer service! Omg please.... Save your time. Hire mennnn to do the job not little boys.They act like little boys which they are!!! The number on the help ad is his dad's who then tells you he has nothing to do with his son's business but hey at least he got back to me. I hired them at 1230pm. Apparently they went there and then didn't move my stuff because it was unsanitary conditions!!! Yes it smells like cat litter that's why I said to put the cat box on the balcony! It's just a smell though and there was some cat food on the floor. They couldn't put a dirty litter box outside..too much for them? Is Paris Hilton doing the moving or what? I attached a picture of the room. It's not unsanitary just one stinky cat box! Lol crazy!! These are the most pansy movers I've ever heard of!! Don't use them please God. They never called me to tell me they were not going to move my stuff just ignored me completely. Here's my room full of very easy furniture and pretty clean besides one dirty litterbox cus I haven't been there in a month and couldn't clean it because severe asthma and I couldn't walk up the steps to the apt anymore. By far the best moving experience I have ever had. I was moving from AZ to CA & everything was last minute- I hate moving and hate doing stuff that involves manual labor. Love Truck U! I used them this week when I needed help with a local move that would only take a couple hours. Other companies had 3 hour minimums, and Truck U had a 1 hour min. It ended up costing half as much as other movers. So I went with them. I was SO happy with their work. Two young strong men showed up ON TIME, worked efficiently and quickly, and packed the 17 ft truck very well. Such an amazing experience. They were quick, efficient and took care of my stuff. They only have a one hour minimum so you can hire them to bring your heavy IKEA stuff in from the car. They unloaded all my IKEA stuff and took it upstairs, then they took the old stove out of the upstairs apartment and took the one from the house and put it upstairs. As an added bonus they took my massive tile saw downstairs so I wouldn't have to later. They charge $50 for two guys for an hour + gas money ($5 in my case). WOW! What can I say... Bautista, Bruce and Ryan were awesome! These 3 young men quite honestly were the biggest and best part of our move to our new house over the weekend. They were very polite, fast, and took care of everything. They even moved my husband's 600lbs air compressor. They called and asked if they could come early.... from the moment they got the run down on what needed to be moved they were continuously hustling. They brought several dollies, blankets, straps and supplies to wrap more delicate furniture. We did not have one single item damaged. On top of that it's SO affordable! It was quick, easy, convenient, and took all of the stress off of me. Fast, efficient, affordable, easy to deal with. Bought a large MCM dresser from Urban America last night and realized it was to big to fit in SUV after purchasing. Truck U came to the rescue. I bought it later in day and wasn't holding my breath on getting someone out there to deliver. CONS: You will book via text with Gunner, who is a brother in Arizona. He sends his younger brother Dillon & his friends to do the grunt work. During one move Dillon was extremely weak & sick but insisted on continuing the job. As parents, it was concerning to us. Ultimately, not bad a gig for the brothers. These guys suck! They confirmed my appointment to pick up and deliver a treadmill at noon today. Didn't show up. I called, texted, waited. Nothing. Finally, after an hour, I texted that I was upset and would be leaving a bad review on Yelp if I didn't hear from them in 10 minutes. Got a text with the driver's phone number! I guess it was up to me to track down the driver! Called the driver, and he said that he didn't know anything about my delivery but he would figure it out, but he was on another job and couldn't talk. Waiting, waiting, nothing. Then someone texted that they'd get back with an ETA. Nothing. Now, 2 hours after they were scheduled to be here, I am writing this review.
