It doesn't try to be fancy or upscale which makes it that much better. It is a little hole in the wall like someone else said. You go there to get food to go, I would not eat it there, but eat it as soon as you get to where you want so it is nice and warm. I tried the Galilea platter which comes with babaganoush, hummus, falafel and pita and the chicken schwarma pita. Both were great, the only down side was that the pita fell apart after I put it down which made it very hard to eat. Have a knife and fork available if you get this. But the real thing to get here is the Falafel. By sister had never had it before and was hesitant, but she absolutely loved it and I would say that it's the best one I have had. Overall, the food is great to go food and I couldn't see how it could be better. The atmosphere is nice and homey, everyone who works there seems happy and authentic when it comes to making and serving all of their food. This review is LONG overdue. I have been grabbing falafel sandwiches at this place for 15 years, any time my work brings me to Montclair. My favorite is the falafel sandwich with extra pickles and hot sauce and my partners favorite is a falafel sandwich with hummus. Unlike ALOT of falafel spots around, these guys make everything fresh when you order. Also, unlike some of the Hallal spots around, their sauces are remarkable. No dry falafel! You can tell by the food that they put a lot of work into how they source their ingredients, and they take a lot of care in keeping the oil in their deep fryers super fresh. Their hummus and baba ganush are tasty and a great add-on to any meal. Prices are reasonable-- a light meal for two for around twelve dollars, a hearty meal for one around the same cost. If you are in a rush, be sure to call in your order around ten minutes ahead--everything cooked is made to order. If you have time to hang around and the weather is mild, their outdoor tables are a great place to catch a bite with a friend or your own mellow thoughts. One of the reasons I began coming here was its proximity to my home and my place of work about 5 years ago. What kept me coming back was the delicious Amero-Middle Eastern food, the unbeatable price and the friendly service.
