It was quiet but the workers were very nice and took great care of us, everything we got was very good and I really enjoyed the bullet naan as I haven't seen anything like it before, the samosas were nice and crispy, the tikka masala had great flavor and a great amount of chicken and the lamb in the biriyani was perfectly cooked! Went here for the daily lunch buffet at 12pm. Buffet starts from 11AM-2:30PM. Very nice and clean restaurant. There were a few tables opened when i got there, so there was no wait. Staff were quick at refilling water and cleaning up the tables. As for the food, there were a good variety of dishes! My favorite got to be the chicken tiki masala and the naan bread! Dining at Bhatti is always a treat. We started with Onion Bhajji - onion fried in a chickpea batter. It was tasty but extra greasy. I think the oil they fried it in should have been hotter. Our lamb seekh kebabs were served on a bed on onions on a sizzling platter - delicious! The Karahi chicken was so tasty with a delicious sauce which a completely different flavor profile from the more popular curries. The aloo gobi was also perfectly seasoned. I order pick up here every other month or so, & consistently get good food. This last time I ordered: butter chicken, lamb tiki masala, & garlic naan. We received one large box of rice opposed to each receiving our own rice (which is different from my dine in experience here). The staff is friendly enough, I do wish it were a bit more welcoming. While looking for healthier alternatives in the area, I was excited to find Bhatti Himalayan had a few vegan options. The waiter was very nice, but had a difficult time answering some of my questions about the menu. I ordered the Onion Bhaji and Vegetable Pakora as appetizers. They were okay, but seemed like they could have been deep fried at a hotter temperature to come out crispier. For my entree, I opted for the Vegetable Coconut Curry. While the flavor was good, the vegetables were very mushy as if they were frozen vegetables that were reheated for too long. Perhaps that is a preference for some people, so if you like Indian food you still might consider checking this place out. read more

I was craving Indian food and was nearby and found this place, decided to give this place a try and so glad I did! Customer service is wonderful, very fast service and very nice server. The ambiance is nice and tidy, everything is well kept cleaned and simple decor. There is also plenty of seating from regular tables with chairs to booths. I tried both regular dishes from the menu to trying their lunch buffet three times. All times I visited here, the food is AMAZING. Loads of flavor, good portion and it is delicious! Their lunch buffet is such a great deal and gives you the opportunity to try a little bit of their amazing dishes they serve. I enjoyed a little of everything. When you pay for the buffet, it also comes with naan as well. Their naan is delicious, I have tried the spicy naan along with garlic naan, I always order / ask for seconds. Their veggie korma is so flavorful and has a nice kick of spice, you can opt for no spicy if you don't like taking the heat. Their butter chicken and their chicken tikka is delicious and flavorful as well. The buffet is $14.99 a person and about $9 for child. When I come during the weekday during lunch time, it's not too busy. If you love Indian food, give this place a try. Amazing service and great food! Saw that this place does a lunch buffet for only $15, I had to come and check it out. Inside is clean and the staff was quick and attentitve. The buffet hours are from 11:00am-2:30pm (seems like 7 days a week) and so upon walking in during this time, they asked us if we were doing the buffet or the regular menu. Of course we opted for the buffet which included a good amount of choices. They had a lot of savory options as well as some dessert too. My favorite choices were actually a lot of the veggie ones! I really liked the Chana Masala, Veggies Korma, and some other mushroom-like curry. Everything was super flavorful. The complimentary garlic naan was also great and a huge portion. We also got an additional order of the Lachha Paratha which I felt was just okay. The texture wasn't as flaky as other parathas I've had. It's a really nice, clean and modern place. The servers are very attentive and friendly. The food was really delightful. There's a soup, garlic naan and cardamom rice pudding included in the buffet. I tried a little bit of everything and really enjoyed it all. My favorites were the Saag Paneer, Tandoori Chicken and Mango Chicken Masala but everything was so good. I absolutely think the service here was phenomenal. It felt like they took pride in their interactions, in their food, in their place. When recommending things my waiter looked like he lit up. I came super late on a Sunday night as it neared closing and it was pretty much empty. There's not a ton of decor here. Plenty of seating tho so it must be a good spot to come to during the day / earlier in the night. I think their lunch special seems like the best bang for your buck. We took our food to go. I think this being rated a 4.8 star at the time of this review is a bit high. I would honestly struggle to rate it a 3.5. It hit the spot but wasn't satisfying. It wasn't otherworldly. I got a few items. Paneer tikka. Chicken korma. Garlic naan and paneer naan. The korma was the best in my opinion. The curry was extremely creamy. The paneer naan was a little disappointing. Do yourself a favor and get some food here, it was SO GOOD! The ambiance of the restaurant is a bit unassuming and didn't quite match how much I loved the food- but I did enjoy the booth seats and the food was served in some cool dishes. Service was ok, pretty much put in your order and they will refill water - they seemed under staffed. The lamb curry was a 9/10 and the butter chicken was a 9/10, once you add some garlic nann it was a 10/10. We were also served rice included in the order. 11/25/25 - my first time here and I brought two guests. I arrived at opening at 11am. A party of three in front of us. They sat us away from the other party which was nice. The cost for the all you can eat lunch buffett was $18 per person regardless of age. We brought a minor who was 10 years old so I think they should have another price for kids. They don't eat much. About 10 items to choose from. The place was modern and had friendly staff. Very clean inside. They bring the naan bread to you. You have to ask for more. I enjoyed every dish I tried. I've been driving by this place and finally decided to try it for dinner. It in an unassuming strip mall of fast food and fast casual. This opened about 3 months ago in the old smash burger space. Driving up I was a little worried as it loooked dark and empty but once inside I was pleasantly surprised. Ambiance was nicer than I expected but exactly like I remember it being when it was Smashburger except with table service and cloth napkins. Food took a while to be delivered but I assume it was being made fresh. Each dish came out piping hot and flavorful. We ordered the Chicken Korma, Coconut Lamb, Lamb Kebab, Chicken Bullit, chicken tikka Masala, garlic and plain naan. All was delicious but the lamb kebab was a bit dry and lean. Next time I'd try the lamb chops. Portion sizes were generous. Very reasonsably priced for the service, quality, portion sizes, and taste. Service was attentive and good just not warm and fuzzy. Truly enjoyed our lunch buffet experience this past Sunday! For $18, they had a nice array of tandoori chicken, vindaloo chicken, various vegetarian curries, pakoras, samosas, fresh salad, tamarind chutney, mint cilantro chutney, a yogurt based sauce, hot tomato soup, and kheer (Indian rice pudding). Visited Bhatti Himalayan Grill Indian Cuisine for their lunch buffet with family today. Having read glowing reviews online, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience turned out quite underwhelming. From the moment we walked in, the place felt like a newly managed setup with bright decor but limited seating capacity. Around 30% of the booths were occupied when we visited, yet there was only one staff member handling everything from managing tables to running the cash counter. The service was, quite frankly, one of the dullest we have experienced in our 15 years in this town. The server appeared disengaged, did not check on our table even once, and there was no basic acknowledgment or courtesy. We had to flag them down for the check, which was processed with zero interaction. Coming to the food, the $17.99 per adult buffet was disappointing. The spread was minimal, as seen in the photos, with very limited options from appetizers to main course and dessert. There was just one dessert item, and even that was mediocre. The overall flavor profile was mild, which was not the issue, but the lack of freshness and variety stood out. We drove over 10 miles expecting a memorable meal, but the experience felt flat from start to finish. On the positive side, the kids did enjoy a couple of the chicken dishes, which were decent. Being from the Indian Subcontinent, when it comes to Indian food I am very critical. I'm especially excited when I find a place that not only honors the traditions but prepares the food with the "right balance" for protein & veggies to spice...this place has done it !!! The naan bread is freshly made for you (either plain or garlic) - the chicken curries I tried (regular curry & tikka masala) were both delicious. Would recommend both of these, including the spinach paneer (spinach curry with paneer cheese), sautéed veggies (had zucchini and egg plant-my favorite) and the tandoori chicken (which was juicy and kept moist with sautéed onions (which are also a must try)). For dessert they had Kheer (aka Arroz Con Leche or Rice with milk)...it was a perfect complement to a perfect lunch...they added cashew nuts & raisins which was amazing. Bhatti Himalayan Grill is a fairly new restaurant that has opened in the Stonecrest Plaza of Serra Mesa. The marquee didn't have any permanent signage yet which made the business difficult to locate in the evening because the temporary banner was not illuminated after sunset. Apparently, the space had been vacated for multiple years and was finally refurbished by the current owners. The inside was clean and tidy with a capacity of close to 100 customers. It seemed like the daily lunch buffet from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm was a popular option, however I came for dinner and it was quiet with only a few tables occupied. Each item on the two-sided menu was numbered, and the total was over 120 choices. A column of a dozen items was designated as Indo-Chinese. The rest of the savory offerings was either South Indian or Himalayan. While I was looking at the menu, the server brought a complimentary basket of rice flour crackers and a set of dipping sauces. The thin crackers were called Papadi, and the sauces were tamarind, mint cilantro chutney, and lemon pickle. The last one had a fiery appearance, but it turned out to be mild and tangy. I started my meal with the Chicken Momo that was designated as a Bhatti Himalayan Specialty. Ten chicken dumplings were stuffed with seasonal vegetables and served with Nepali sauce. The dumplings were on the spicy side and using the sauce only amplified the heat so I didn't apply much. For an entree, I picked the Shrimp Palak which was shrimp cooked in a spinach sauce. I normally see the term Saag used instead of Palak. The former allowed the use of various leafy green vegetables like mustard greens in place of or in combination with spinach. The latter meant only spinach was used. I requested mild spiciness for my order which the kitchen did a good job of executing. Several large pieces of shrimp were included which I appreciated. Overall, Bhatti Himalayan Grill was one of the better Indian dining experiences I have tried in the SD area. read more

Dropped by here yesterday as the BF and I were looking for some Himalayan food that was open late. Was really surprised to see a new spot in the Aero Drive area, and we ended up having a really amazing experience. Staff were very friendly and we got seated pretty quick. The place itself is very large with lots of seating and a nice modern style. Menu has a good selection of categories, including an Indo-Chinese section, but we ended up not ordering from there. All the food we ended up ordering turned out extremely delicious. One worry was the spice level, but nothing was too spicy so that was a plus. We tried the chicken momos (nicely cooked with a peanut-ish sauce that complements it), the Mulligatawny soup (hot and flavorful), the Bhatti Da Murgh (their best seller kebab dish - earns its title), and the Palak Chicken (lots of taste and chicken really cooked well). Finished almost everything, so we didn't have room for dessert, but do hope to try it next time. Glad to have this new spot in the area, and hope to check out their buffet special soon! read more

Picked up a few things at Walmart and on our way home my Wife wanted Starbucks and again I noticed there's another new Restaurant. We came to check it out and it's an Indian restaurant " BHATTI HIMALAYAN GRILL " they just opened a week ago. Looks good inside and better yet they have a Lunch Buffet! I like the food here and my wife said Wow for a buffet, the food is well seasoned, it's actually pretty good for a buffet, they only have a small section of the buffet but their food is good here, like the Chicken Tandoori , Chicken Masala , Garlic Naan , samosas and more , but the one i like the most is their Chicken Curry . Finally a good Indian buffet and so close to home. Even though there are a lot of stores around , theres plenty of parking spaces here, so finding parking here wont be an issue. Finally a quality Indian/Himalayan restaurant close to home! They offer their lunch buffet 7 days a week (11am-2:30pm), so we decide to give them a try on a Sunday afternoon -- needless to say we were pleasantly surprised to find out what a gem this place is. We sampled everything their buffet had to offer and were pleasantly pleased with each bite! Their chicken tikka masala, Tandoori chicken and saag paneer were a few of the highlights -- as well as their chicken curry and mutter mushroom (peas & mushrooms in a tomato based creamy curry), which were both delicious and perfectly seasoned. To top things off, our lunch included fluffy garlicky naan and drinks of our choice (including mango lassi - which was a nice, refreshing treat). This place just opened and that's such a relief as there aren't many himalayan restaurants in this area! With a wide variety of traditional and popular dishes ranging from Vegetarian, Fish, Lamb, Chicken, and Beef you're bound to find something you like. We ordered the Bhatti Samosa which was an appetizer of flattened samosas over chickpeas and drizzled with yogurt and their traditional sauces like mint and tamarind chutney. It was delicious and hard to stop eating. We also ordered 2 Korma dishes: vegetable and lamb, both medium spicy. There was such a depth of flavor that felt authentic and homemade. I could tell this is a cashew based sauce from the nuttiness which was more prominent than other restaurants- I felt like they actually made their own sauce/paste instead of using store bought supplements. The vegetables in the dish were definitely fresh and weren't just that premix frozen bag of corn, peas, and carrots! The spice was appropriate, actually a little milder than I was expecting, but I'm not complaining! I usually overdo it and wish I went milder. This place took over the Murphy Canyon Smashburger location across from Walmart. If you know the area it gets busy during peak times to get and out of the area and parking can be a bit of a challenge. The restaurant interior is simple and clean, which I find refreshing. Their Buffet is a good deal and is available everyday from 11am-2pm and offers the usual array of options you find from most Indian food buffets in the area. They serve your choice of naan and drinks right at your table while you enjoy the buffet. The staff greeted us warmly upon entering.And confirmed if we wanted to enjoy the buffet. We were immediately shown to our table where they took our bread and drink orders. All of our empty plates were promptly taken away. I found the mild buffet flavors suited my tastes perfectly, as i oftentimes get a bit of a tummy ache after partaking Indian food. I'm sure a big part of that is that I overindulge, but also my tastebuds and my stomach don't agree with each other about spicy levels as I age. Hehe. We just had a great meal at this restaurant. A friendly man greeted us and we got a table for two at a window. They have booths and tables. The menu is large and varied. My husband and I are vegetarian as of about 1 year, and there were plenty of choices. Also vegan choices. We had the alloo gobi, yellow dal tadka and somosas. They were all so delicious that I felt like licking the lovely traditional bowls they came in. The food was very very good and filling so we had some left over to take home. Prices were quite reasonable, especially for the high quality. Restaurant was spic and span clean and decor was attractive and calm atmosphere. I was so excited to finally try Bhatti, and I'm happy to say it was absolutely the right choice for dinner! I had a serious craving for goat biryani, and since my usual spot wasn't an option, I gave Bhatti a shot--and I'm glad I did. The goat was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. The biryani had fantastic flavor--rich and aromatic. It was just a bit salty for my taste, but not enough to take away from the overall experience. I also wish it had a little more heat, but that's on me; next time I'll definitely ask for it spicier. The food area was not that big, but my goodness once we tried the food it was delicious, their food buffet area is small but big in Flavors! Here are the ones I tried: *TANDOORI CHICKEN *BUTTER CHICKEN *SAMOSAS *GARLIC NAAN *CHICKEN CURRY Everything was so good, but my favorite was their Chicken Curry, the flavor was just so delicious , and it's good with either rice or their naan.
