Why go anywhere else? Walking up to this place I was really delighted to see how it. The place is small and should I say cute lol. It literally has the bike path wrapped around it. The guy who owns the shop was super cool very nice and gave us some great information defined a beautiful path to take the bikes towards the peir. Perhaps not their fault but the electric bike I rented was too big and heavy for me. Granted I'm only 4'11". The instructions were so rushed that I immediately squeezed the throttle instead of the brakes. Had a contusion on my back (bike fell on me as I fell onto the curb. Hot mess covered with bruises. I don't post reviews very often as you can see. But when I receive notable poor service and attitude I feel compelled! I live in San Clemente about a mile from this place. I just bought a couple real nice e bikes. But before I bought one for my son I wanted him to rent one for the day. We arrived about 5 minutes early. Wow! The young lady that was there was incredibly put out by this. Would not stop to help and made us wait. She had a terrible vibe. Once we started the exchange she assumed I was tourist. That's when things got real. I would expect all rental places not to assume this. The locals rent bikes as well. The mentality that this is a one time customer and who cares how I behave is the wrong thinking! Her vibe sucked, the bike was POS and she proceeds to lecture me on e bikes. I am clearly an expert on them and she was not listening! When we returned the bike we had only used for maybe an hour that day. The thing was clunky and junky. The guy receiving the bike says the brake lever is not right. I said oh yeah what happened. He said it's loose and wasn't like that before! I scratch my head and say you didn't check the bike out. How would you know. My son says it was like that dad and it was! He took it back but again really? We Will not go back. Many rental places there give them a try instead! Thanks, Jim read more

I have my own e-bike but she was a first-time rider. The friendly employee got her a right-sized e-bike, showed her the controls, instilled some confidence, and we were off! I read up on the reviews before going in and kept seeing "rude, grumpy man" which I was ready for when I decided to go in. I was helped by a man who was curt with his responses but he wasn't grumpy nor rude to me. I was there for a cruiser rental as I wanted to ride around the San Clemente Coastal Trail--he let me know how long it would take, got a lock set up, and even adjusted the bike seat for me before I left on my trek And when I got back, the young woman helped with the return of it. Well, I personally met the grumpy old guy! Much older, not a gentlemen, with long white hair, and very short.. I was riding past and going to stop in. He was crossing the sidewalk with another coworker carrying a case of beer. Before I even put my foot on the ground he approached me and said "Can I help you?" In the rudest way possible. I was looking for a seat cover and he said we don't have any, you can blame it on China. He definitely did not want me going in the store. The bikes were super. The gentleman who assisted us advised he was covering for a friend. It felt very rushed and I opted for no helmets based on thinking the trails were NOT on a highway. The ride to the trail was stressful with a lot of fast moving cars. This shop should slow down a bit and provide more info to tourists plus a map. The signs for trails were hard to spot as a non local and there was misinformation regarding which trails were e-bike friendly. Once we got to one of the state park trails it was beautiful but if was a very short trail. I would recommend but know you will need to ask them to draw you a map! read more
