I've been coming here for years now, but this is my first time leaving a review. Revel is a great space to try new wines and catch up with a friend, attend a wine tasting or blind-tasting event, or listen to live music. I enjoy sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender/server about the wines they have. I can always find a wide variety of wines and something I've never tasted before. The environment is welcoming with a touch of sophistication (although the dress can be very casual). I typically only come for the wine, but the cheese/charcuterie options are unique and tasty if you want something to snack on. Oh and if you go on Tapas Tuesdays, you get a free tapa with every glass of wine! read more

I've been a regular here, so tonight especially disappointed me. The wine and ambiance are solid, but the service was inexcusable. We ordered four simple items (cheese, pickles, olives, bread) and waited over an hour without a word. When we finally asked where our food was, the bartender admitted he hadn't even started it and asked if we still wanted it. We took just the cheese to cut our losses. He comped the cheese. We paid full price for the wine we'd been sitting with the whole time. This place has goodwill to burn through. They're burning it. Won't be back. read more

My husband and two close friends, and I finally (embarrassed to say!) ventured into Revel! It was a celebration because they just got married over this past weekend and we wanted to keep the party going! We absolutely love wine and their selection was outstanding! We ordered a higher end bottle as a gift. Our server-bartender , Sara, was sensational! She chatted about the specific bottle we chose, shared a bit about the business, and helped us pick a charcuterie board to share! The atmosphere has a quirky-elegant, creative vibe, celebrating local artists with the paintings and ceramics for sale. As an artist myself, I especially loved the large mural encompassing the entire space! The snack choices were perfect! Has potential but we were there around 8pm and stayed for over an hour and could not get the bartenders attention and there was one "server" that kept walking back and forth and we couldn't get service. The place was crowded but the service didn't improve even after the place emptied out. The only reason we stayed is because we were old friends who hadn't seen each other for a long time and were getting caught up. Vibe was good, and it was nice that they had a two person ensemble playing sax & keyboard, but their service is lacking. I hope they get some help, they would sell more drinks and make more to stay in business. read more

I went here with a friend who enjoyed the wine, while I ordered food from their make-your-own charcuterie board menu. I've been to this bar a few times with a small group of friends. I've also been for some of their listening parties for Whitney Houston, Usher, etc. which are always fun. The servers are true winos and can guide you to the right glass. The owner is typically at the bar when I come and is a very pleasant guy. I like that they let you select what goes on your charcuterie board so you can experiment with flavors. They serve port wines too! My only complaint is that they don't serve wine flights. I recommend this spot as a pretty dinner meetup with a friend or two (it can be loud sometimes) or a date night. read more

The wine is actually served at proper temperature for the type, which seems to be a rarity in Tucson. We were in town for a couple of days and looking for a quiet spot for a drink and discovered REVEL. located just off 4th street this cozy wine bar has an interesting selection of wines by the glass as well as a build your own charcuterie menu. I enjoyed a couple of glasses of a sparkling white burgundy and my wife savored the French Rhône. The charcuterie menu allows you to mix and match cheese, meat and other items and was very reasonably priced and was just what we needed food-wise. While service was a bit on the leisurely side of things, we were in no hurry and the three folks working seemed to be doing their best. A great little spot. read more

Tried a few glasses of wine while in Tucson. The service was pretty good. I was surprised to see we were the only people in their. We went to a private sparkling wine tasting at Revel. Todd is very knowledgeable about the four wines we tasted - the history, the regions, the grapes, the methods, and more! He even gave us a printed page with the descriptions and room to take notes if we liked. I was pleasantly surprised when we were offered a lovely, nutty cheese and bread to eat along with our tasting. Sparkling wines, especially, do not sit well for me without food. The space itself is warm industrial - exposed brick, high ceilings, with wood touches throughout. A private tasting is a unique, fun idea. This is a quaint quiet little wine bar off of 4th Avenue. There is a long bar with some bench seating along the opposite wall. They have a range of wines available. I love that their menu gives a description of the different flavor notes you can find in each wine. I found myself trying new wines because of the descriptions helping to know what to expect. They sell wine by the glass or bottle and you can order a bottle to go and get $10 off! They have an extensive bottle list so you'll definitely find a wine you enjoy. There aren't a lot of places like this in Tucson - I'm so glad we have Revel. Lovely wine list, nice little bites, & staff who really know their stuff when it comes to vino. Always getting new labels & varietes in to try and they have a great wine club if you want a little more in-depth experience. I've participated in several events here and always really enjoy the laid back atmosphere and open/welcoming approach to wine education & wine enjoyment. LOVED this place. In all fairness we did get a bit of VIP treatment but I would still love it regardless. We met up with a new Somm friend here and immediately met Todd. I love that there are no TVs in here. I felt like we walked into a sophisticated house party. We shared bottles of Domaine De La Côte "Bloom's Field" (UHMAZING), M. & C. Veteran downtown Tucsonians here. Revel hit the dang spot tonight. My wife had a Tepache, she wasn't feeling like drinking tonight. I grabbed a German Lager. The winner tonight, through, was this dang charcuterie board we built. Damn! The cheese selection was on point. The nuts, salami's, whew, it was so good. But, most of all, the board had sliced bread. It's perfect for chatting with friends and relaxing, and they have an amazing variety of wines you can enjoy while sitting at the bar and listening to jazz bands play. Staff is crazy friendly, and Todd will make sure you know what you're drinking and why it's great. We stopped by recently and enjoyed our visit. We ordered a nice bottle of Brunello from Tenuta la Fuga; we liked it. Ordered the cheese and charcuterie combo... excellent selections, especially the Bresaola and the bleu, and then also the chocolate plate. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. Revel is certainly the best wine bar in town, and it provides a great alternative to other types of restaurants. Definitely brought us back to the wine enotecas that we visited in Tuscany last month. It's a bit concerning that there were only two (or three?) other groups there while we visited... although maybe that's not a surprise for a Thursday evening? Hopefully business will pick up in the winter months. We'll certainly be back, and you should visit too! read more

I went to Revel this weekend because the bar was hosting a wine tasting/fundraiser for an LGBTQ scholarship fund. I was hoping it would be a good experience, of course, but I wasn't thinking too hard about it. I was going for a good cause and any Saturday I can spend learning about wine is a good Saturday. I think it was Todd the owner who hosted and ran our tasting, which was focused on sparkling wine. Todd was knowledgeable and picked four wines to lead us through. Each of the four was interesting in their own right and none of them were super sweet (always a turn off for me). Todd was also a generous host: we didn't feel rushed through the experience. Smart man, as we all hung around afterwards and bought extra glasses/bottles of wine. The venue is beautiful and not too big, with walls of warm red brick (other reviewers have mentioned the word cozy, which is an apt descriptor). The service was excellent. Complementary cheese/bread was offered as part of the tasting. They also have small plates on their menu, but I didn't check those out this time around. The prices were surprisingly reasonable, including a $10 discount on any bottle you want to take to go. During the tasting someone mentioned being a member of Revel's wine club, and how it gets you priority invitations to other tasting events (Todd mentioned something called Sunday School, which sounds like a periodic tasting/education event). I had such a good time I decided to check it out. I normally don't opt in to wine clubs: my husband doesn't drink and I don't like to have too many extra bottles sitting around the house. I was delighted to find out Revel's wine club options were priced at either $30 or $45/month, and that gets you two bottles/month (one red, one white), as well as 10% off any other bottles you decide to buy. Were very lucky to have attended Revels 2nd Anniversary affair. It was a five course wine and food pairing. The first course was crustini with anchovies and pico. Fabulous. Visited this place last night, because we were in the mood to go out-have a glass of wine and relax! We did a flight of wine, got to try 3 for $12 which was nice. The atmosphere is nice, could be improved upon quite a bit with just more comfortable seating arrangements! Too many bar stools, and the long booth against the wall is very uncomfortable to sit for any length of time, I'd also suggest putting a couch or build a small intimate comfy seating section in both of the window areas! I'd love to sit on a comfy sofa drink wine and watch people walk by the window. The ambiance was nice, nicely lit, soft music playing, and decorated well with art work, and beautiful wood floors. Also the restroom was very clean! The service was great, Eric was very helpful and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed his conversation! And the duck confit deviled eggs were simply delicious! We came here on a whim, just to see what Tucson was like! It was such a good experience. All of the staff were friendly, and gave us multiple suggestions on other places we should check out in the area during our trip. They had a really great selection of wine, so much so that I couldn't decide for myself. I asked to get a flight of the best red wine, and I got everything I could have asked for. I saw new place open with wine on 4th and could not resist to give it a try. They just open in January. Not a very big place but they have a great atmosphere with a main bar/seating area and in the back a small patio. Very nice selection of wines. They offer flights of three different wines from a highlighted region. Tonight was Spain with a sparkling white and two reds. The red won out and followed the flight with a couple stand alone glasses of wine. To complement our wine, they offer a cheese or meat plate at a reasonable price. I was also pleased to see a limited selection of beers but wine is their expertise. Serving staff was great and patient while trying to decide what to have and once they had a handle on your taste, they made good recommendation.
