Wow. When the owners of this food truck told me that their gyro is made with love and care, I initially thought, how cliché. However, their culinary prowess backs up that statement. I've tried many combo platters over the years and they all generally taste similar, but this version is unlike anything I've tried before. The dish contains a unique pickled flavor that brings out the rice and veggies. The gyro also tastes uniquely savory. I wish I took a better pic but I came here on a time crunch. Having a great gyro spot on Washington Ave is so fitting. Nothing hits harder than fast food after a night out, and Big Bite will serve as an unexpected blessing to those that stumble across it. It's no secret that good food trucks tend to look very barebones, but I still find it comical that the owners don't even have a menu to view. They nonchalantly suggested that I look for a photo on their Google Maps location instead. Rest assured, their food more than makes up for their lackluster appearance. I would love to give 5 stars but I paid an otherworldly price for my combo platter. $18 is the steepest I've ever seen an establishment charge, and it would've run me about $20 if I paid with card instead of cash. This style of food was a nice change from the typical after bar food. We thought the food was well seasoned and a good portion. The white sauce and spicy sauce took it over the top. Right before we got our food I was telling my fiancé "you can tell when someone really cares about the food they sell and when they're just trying to get your money and push you out". This establishment is the perfect example of someone who loves what they do. While waiting in line we saw the workers/owners speaking and holding guinue conversations with each customer. We got the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was flavorful!! One of the best shawarmas I've had since they closed House of Kabob. I usually get extra sauce but this one was perfect. The bread isn't a thick pita bread, so I don't feel overly served on the bread. The falafel was perfect with a touch of heat. My wife had the gyro over rice. The rice had the texture and flavor on point. It was so good. I found them on yelp and was initially going to get the wrap with fries, but he let me sample the chicken w/ rice. The rice is well seasoned and chicken flavorful. On google reviews they have a 4.9 which is amazing but the reason I give them a 3/5 is due to hygiene. I would've given it a 4/5 if it wasn't because of that. When I went, the guy opened a dessert item for my friend and I to try (which was actually very delicious 5/5) and he was like "open your mouth" and proceeded to feed my friend. Then he used the same spoon, grabbed another slice of dessert and fed me. Which I'm grateful for. That was very nice of him. And I thought since it was a new dessert he was going to give it to us.
