We were visiting the food hall today and wanted to try something different, so we stumbled upon Foreign Grill, and I'm so glad we did! I ordered the cheese egg boat and the chicken soup dumplings. I had the chance to chat with the chef, who was making everything fresh from scratch, which made the experience even better. The cheese egg boat was absolutely delicious, with a perfectly flaky crust and rich, cheesy filling. The chicken soup dumplings were some of the best I've ever had, fresh, packed with flavorful filling, and filled with a rich, savory broth. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you could tell a lot of care went into preparing the food. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back to try more of the menu. We like to try different ethnic foods. This was a first: Uzbecki Plov Somsa Both were delicious! The flavor settles in after several seconds, resulting in a dance party for your taste buds. PLOV is their pilaf. We had the chicken. Somsa is like a meat pie in a flaky crust. The workers were friendly and helpful. The food was fresh. Tried this place for the first time on a weekday for lunch. Service was fast. I waited maybe 10 minutes for my food. Got the euro dumplings and a lamb rice dish. Both full of flavors and actually went well together. The cabbage salad that comes with the rice dish was also nicely seasoned and refreshing. read more

My husband found this place and we just got back from visiting Georgia and were craving some Khinkali. We stopped by on a Friday night and tried the Pirogies, which were bomb! We did the Khinkali which also were delicious the broth was a little thin but full of flavor, and then we also did a Khachapuri which I thought was incredible and very similar to the Khachapuri you would get in Georgia! This restaurant is inside of a food hall so plenty of seating but you order first and then find seats. The service was fairly quick, everything is made fresh and came out hot. More of a 3.5 star. Came in late on a Friday, ordered the dumplings sampler plate and the khachapuri (basically a cheese boat with an egg) to share. The sampler had some crispy empanadas and soft dumplings, all nothing special but the best one was the potato stuffed empanadas. Dumplings were just something I could buy from a store quality. The cheese boat was okay too, fresh bread/bake, but I was not impressed. Nice owner and took about 15 mins for food, definitely still better than some of the options in Post, but I expect better quality for the price. read more

I am so glad that Foreign Grill found a new home at the POST Houston after the last food hall they were at close down. I love the fact that they are serving food you can not find at any other restaurants around town and it is pretty good and the price is fair too. We get the Khachapuri and Lamb Khinkali to try and both were great, they still have other food to try there. I recommend both of those, after you order they will give you a buzzed when your food is ready. I will come back here and try other stuff on the menu. read more

Had dinner here a bit ago and forgot that I wanted to give a thumbs up to Foreign Grill. Split some khinkali, a khachapuri, and an order of pelmini. Food was very good! Khinkali (large dumplings) compared favorably with other Georgian restaurants we've tried. Set in The Post food court, so not a regular sit down place, but not a bad thing. I'll be back to try some other dishes like the pilaf. read more

The gem is hidden in the corner of POST food court. It has all famous dishes of Soviet Union. Georgian khinkali, Russian pelmeni, chebureki, Usbek plov, and Ukrainian borscht. Quality of the food is authentic. Very delicious. Always stop at the Post, when I have time before catching a plane. The place also has a great view at the Houston at the roof garden. read more

Food was really good. I got the big dumplings (#4) and the bread/cheese/egg boat (#2). There were only 3 dumplings but they were large and surprisingly filling. They had a lot of meat inside, the dough tasted fresh, and the sauce went really well with them. The cheesy bread boat was also good. Make sure to dip the bread in the egg. It's a really good combo. One note to the owners: don't serve the food on the paper. The paper rips and sticks to the food. I immediately took it off when I noticed that happening. read more

I had the beef khinkali (dumplings), and I think the sauce used inside the dumplings is too thin, too liquidy. It has a nice savory taste, but because it's so liquidy, all of the sauce just falls out of the dumplings right after you bite into it. I'm then forced to dip the dumplings skin into the pool of liquid that formed in the serving basket as a result. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and it didn't disappoint! I got the cheesy bread with the egg (forgot the actual name) and the lamb/rice combo plate. Both were great, especially the lamb. The staff was super friendly but just a heads up - the food took awhile (maybe ~20 minutes). The prices aren't cheap but they're reasonable and on par with the surrounding options in the food hall. read more

Really happy to see Foreign Grill has settled into their new location at POST Houston. We had heard great reviews from those who ate at their old location and wanted to try it for ourselves--and it definitely lived up to the praise. It's tucked away in the back corner of the food hall, so don't be discouraged if you don't spot it right away--it's worth finding. We ordered a little bit of everything: khachapuri, perogies, khinkali, pelmeni, and a kompot to drink. Everything was well done. The khachapuri was cheesy, rich, and super filling--definitely something to share unless you're very hungry. The perogies and pelmeni tasted really authentic, like something you'd get in someone's kitchen, not a food hall. The khinkali had a good texture and flavor, though just a heads-up--they come heavily dusted with black pepper, so they have a bit of a kick. The kompot was refreshing and had fruit bits in it; personally I prefer it strained, but I know plenty of people enjoy it that way, so no complaints. All in all, a great meal. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area or curious about Uzbek or Eastern European-style cuisine. read more

The perogies are insanely good! We get them hot and ready and frozen to make at home.

Overpriced. Paid $25 for perogy and sausage combo. The picture did not match what came out. Meager amount of fatty, bland sausage. Perogies were ok but greasy. Service was quick but I will not come again. read more
