Came here for a second time since moving back to California. This time around I brought my oldest to have lunch with me. We each ordered a slice and opted for also ordering garlic twist. The twists were fresh and definitely delicious. Not over cooked and simply perfect. I had a slice of "the works" and was really amazed how loaded my slice had with ingredients. Definitely worth the cost when I have to use a fork and knife to eat my pizza. On another note, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. We ordered a pizza of our own creation. A white basil pesto sauce topping a "medium" thick crust. (Oddly they asked us what kind of crust we wanted, "Thin or Regular", but we all decided on Medium ... and that's what we went with. Not really "standard" but apparently: doable!) We topped it with chicken, garlic, red onions, and mushrooms. It was a great pizza! I would absolutely order here again. I wasn't a huge fan of the crust flavor/texture per se but it wasn't bad or anything--- just not my personal favorite. And that could easily have been due to the unusual thickness level we ordered, as mentioned above. One of my favorite things was that it wasn't excessively pricey to create my own pizza. I'm always frustrated when a pizza restaurant allows/encourages patrons to build their pizza but the prices are a deterrent and don't seem reasonable when compared to their Specialty prices... and I was happy to find that wasn't the case at Bob's! I LOVE BIG BOB's. There, I said it. Hold it against me, if you will, but that doesn't mean it's any less true. If I could eat it every day, I absolutely would. The crust is thin, but puffy, so it feels more substantial. They have the right amount of sauce, and their toppings are always fresh and they use the proper amount - no skimping here! Even better? The price. BBBP is reasonably priced, and you can often find a coupon in the Community Guide. Their pizza coupons are generally buy one, get one, so I always get the large to make the most of it and to make it last. They also deliver to my house, at the back gates of Pendleton, which doesn't happen with any other quality pizza placel The only reason that Bob's isn't getting a 5 star review from me, is that they are only only open until 8 during the week, and the delivery stops at least 30 minutes before then. I don't like eating late, but by the time I'm on my way home from work or the gym, it's after 7 and I need to know (like, yesterday) what I'm having for dinner, especially if I want it delivered. Is this worth losing a star over? Maybe not, but to me it's pretty important. read more

Im normally a chicago/new york style pizza person but Big Bob's has become on of my favorites. Even when other pizza places fail. The price for a large is pretty reasonable for the quality at 20-30 dollars. While I find the crust to be a little anemic if there are a lot of toppings, it never stops me from enjoying it. This gets 2 stars because the pizza was still okay. The sauce was my favorite part, definitely on point. Dough was a little bit undercooked, however and some of the toppings seemed cheap of quality. This place nearly gets 1 star because I am fairly certain they didn't start making my order until I arrived to pick it up and then straight up lied to my face about it. I ordered a pizza to go after checking into my hotel and checking the yelp listings for the best rated pizza spot in oceanside. This was the spot I found. I ordered via the phone after getting a busy signal several times. I get it, its only 2020, multi line phone systems for a busy pizza place are definitely way too distant in the future technology wise to even be an option for them apparently... Guy on the phone says 30 minutes. Cool. I watch some TV and finish up some work and I drive the 15 minutes from my hotel. I would have ordered delivery but they apparently don't deliver 4 miles away. I get there and see literally 10 people waiting in their lobby. Not a good sign. All of them have masks, that is good at least. I give my name to the young Asian (I think?) lady at the register and she sees me in the system and takes my payment. She then disappears into the back. I proceed to wait 20 minutes after the pickup time and still no word on my pizza. I walk back into the lobby and register girl tells me "4 minutes." I wait 8 minutes then walk back into the lobby. I see them continuously pulling my pizza out of the oven and putting it back in (wtf?) Finally, 1 hour after I ordered my pizza and 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, 30 minutes after standing outside this place I get my pizza and go. Yay. It wasn't very special. Hit up your local Round Table in any random town and you are better off by far. I would wager even some Dominoes would give this place a run for their money. Honestly, the weirdest part was they had about 10 people waiting for food and they had about 8 people in the back "working." This would lead one to believe that they are extremely backed up and have a lot of orders coming out. From where I was standing it appeared they were popping one pizza out of the oven every few minutes, and then they appeared to keep shoving the pizzas back in to cook for longer. Today my youngest and I visited my husband at work and he suggested we come here for lunch. I'm allergic to wheat so we checked the menu and saw they have salads, so I would have something to eat. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken. The salad was okay, not the best I've had. There was way too much cheese and not enough chicken. I think if you come here you should stick to pizza and bread sticks. My husband eats lunch here at least 1x a week and loves it. He always orders bread sticks and brings them home and my sons devour them. They love those bread sticks! The service here is top notch. The person who took our order was extremely nice and polite. The establishment, despite being very busy, was very clean. Huge plus. I think if you are in this area and are craving pizza and/or bread sticks, you should eat here. I ordered a plain Large pepperoni with a side. Hot wings. First, the wings...they put the buffalo sauce on the side which is awesome because the wings dont come out soggy and you can add as much or as little sauce that you like. Recently, I ordered a pizza with their delicious tomato basil sauce, pesto, and veggies. No cheese. Talk about heaven! For our family, this pizza is delicious. The cheese they use is what brings us here. Never had a problem when ordering or picking up. Everyone that works there is friendly and welcoming. Pizza is always melting, just how i like it. The garlic knots are soft small and the right texture. Pricing is a little higher than your average pizza place, but i dont mind paying the extra because we find it to be to our satisfaction. Good evening pizza lovers I come to you tonight with less than satisfactory news. I wanna start by saying one sour apple does not speak for the entire orchard. Mistakes happen and occasionally I like to order 23 min before closing.... im a garlic knots kind of guy as you all know but tonight my knots were skinny fat and not fatass. they were also kind of overdone regardless flavor was still there size was very soyboyish and bread fluffiness was fucky at best but like I said I'm a die hard fan of these knots. I know next weekend will be better. the team seemed worn out and ready to clock out for the day and rightly so it's Friday night, mutha fuckas gata do dope shit. either way still a fan but unfortunately I have to be honest with myself and more importantly everyone planning on visiting BBP for tonight's pizza shmeat spin.... 4 Stars. Man oh man! This pizza never disappoints me! I tried their fairly new robusto pizza and thought I was in heaven! Basically it is pepperoni but a special pepperoni. It is smaller compared to most and has an extra kick to it. The best part about it though is that it cups and makes the edges all nice and crispy to provide a nice little crunch to the bite. Big Bobs Best pizza really does earn their name. Let's just say I don't know who bob is. I don't even know if he is big, I do know they're the best. I could easily start with their pizza but let's go with the fried zucchini. I thought it was interesting they were coins instead of spears but myself and everyone else thought they were amazing. The coating doesn't easily fall off and they are very crispy. My favorite pizza here is the thick crust. You'll always see thin crust and traditional but the thick crust isn't always available at any pizza restaurant. The crust is thick but it's also very soft doughy. The sauce for their pizza is also delicious and they have a lot of toppings on their pizza. I will say Big Bobs can compete with any pizza location and they are right they are the best. read more

If you like thick (almost soft pretzels) type dough, this is your place. The flaming hot pepperoni have a little heat but I wouldn't call them hot. They also have the extra paper at the bottom of the box so it doesn't get soggy. 1 extra large pizza will fill two grown men so you might want to downsize you order a little. Very disappointing... I ordered a pizza, breadsticks and a Greek salad to be delivered through grubhub. When it was delivered the salad wasn't with the order. When I called Bob's I was told they flat out forgot to make it and the person handing off to the delivery driver didn't double check to ensure all the order was there. I was told I could send the driver back over and they'll make it really quickly. I spoke to the manager who implied that the driver failed to double check the order. He finally offered to have the salad brought to me by his employee, when it was delivered the employee was clearly irritated that he had to bring the salad to me. Then, the pizza and breadsticks were so unappetizing that my kids didn't even finish one piece (the same kids who can devour a large pizza easily).
