So we decided to have lunch here. We both wanted chicken teriyaki so we were close by and stopped in. A good selection of dishes but we heard the chicken teriyaki was good. We got two orders with rice. The service was ok and the food came out fairly quick. This is where the good stops. The chicken had an odd texture and taste. It was teriyaki but it tasted like cooking fuel, like the flavor you get when you use charcoal lighter fluid way too much. Or sterno if that helps. The chicken was rubbery in my dish and the other was oddly dry. The rice was overcooked like it was made days ago. It was so bad we tossed 3/4 of both orders in the trash. This is my daughter's go-to teriyaki place. I've never ordered from them before. I don't know why I waited so long. Did a call-in order. They said 15min. Pretty sure it was ready before 15min. Went in paid and on my way to a delicious chicken teriyaki & goyza dinner. The portion was huge. Everything was fresh, and flavorful. Definitely my go-to teriyaki place now. Came in to have lunch after an excursion of errands. There's another teriyaki place across the way, so I left it up to my 9 year old teriyaki aficionado to choose. He definitely chose well! The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was also amazing. My son usually orders chicken teriyaki but ventured off and ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki and loved every bite. We ordered the chicken yakisoba for my 2 year old and he was also pleased. Mind you, these were lunch specials yet the portions were still HUGE. This teriyaki shop was nearby my bank and I saw that they were offering lunch specials, plus we are on the hunt for great teriyaki places in Puyallup as there are quite a bit of options but they are just okay. As we entered, they were just opening up and no one was at the front. This is fine as we got to look at the menu and assess our options. After a few minutes, the cashier came out to greet us politely before asking if we were ready to order. She was very sweet and got our order promptly and correctly. She brought our silverware and napkins before bringing our entrees when they were finished. My boyfriend decided on the chicken teriyaki lunch special while I decided to go for their chicken yakisoba lunch special. We both loved our dishes and appreciate that they do not burn their chicken or vegetables, offer generous portions and love the thoughtful presentation. We agreed that if we are ever in the area then we would grab food from here as it arrived quickly and satisficed our hunger. The free tea here is fantastic as it is soothing and the perfect accompaniment to the delicious food served here. The inside of the restaurant is pretty spacious with several tables for couples, groups, and big groups to be able to dine. It isn't crowded and the interior seemed very modern and cozy, especially for a teriyaki establishment. Service is awesome, food is plentiful and super tasty. Liked the complimentary cup of tea while we waited for our order. Restaurant is very clean and was busy as it was 530pm on a Saturday. It's a good place the prices are different online for sure I don't know why they haven't updated but big portion and fast they have sauces up front as well and you know that one of the best parts of a teriyaki place is to put more of the sauce on it. I recently moved to the area when I sold my house in Lakewood and mined in with my boyfriend here. He told me this was his favorite teriyaki place in the area. We've ordered takeout from here at least 3 times (walking in to order and taking our food home since we live so close) and every time the customer service has been great. The girls they have working up front are kind, patient and upbeat. They always seem happy to discuss the menu or make suggestions if you ask. The restaurant is small and quaint. I love that there is a large urn of tea and tea cups out so people can enjoy free tea while they wait for their to go orders or dine in. They keep the dining area clean and organized. I often see many people dining in on their lunch breaks or taking food to go so the place seems to be a popular choice. We have really enjoyed all the food we have tried so far. I really like that their teriyaki sauce and other sauces for the other dishes are not overly sweet. I've really noticed a trend in the last 15 or so years of restaurants and coffee shops making things way too sugary sweet and I hate that. They make the sauces the right way here. Also, the meat quality is great -big meaty pieces as opposed to other places that serve large pieces of fat and gristle or tendon-ey pieces. The food is always hot and fresh as well as great quality. The cashier took my phone order. Repeated it back to me, and when I get in, tries to charge me for additional items. They processed the transaction, and told me it was my fault because I didn't let her know. She is the only American cashier with long hair and her customer service suuucks bad! The Mongolian beef was definitely better than most teriyaki places I've been to and comes with green onions, white onion, carrot strips, mushroom, and green bell peppers. Haha, this place has decent food. They charge $.08 for take out on top of your orders for a bag like everyone else. I don't believe takeout restaurants should charge for bags because they offer the takeout option. They have young girls who work the front and when asked what comes with certain plates, they cannot answer a simple question. I asked what comes with the chicken katsu, she replied rice and salad. I asked if it was a tossed-green salad, she asked me what? Asked her again, ended up asking seven times. Her reply was it is an iceberg lettuce salad, not tossed green.‍.
