It is rare to find this much food per dollar in Washington State since COVID. The quality is pretty good! The chicken is moist & flavorful. The rice tastes fresh, not stale or undercooked at all. The spicy chicken is actually spicy & it comes with slices of jalapenos & onion! Mac salad was really good, it was super creamy! The green beans were okay. It would have been nice to have salt & pepper as an option on the table. We came in at lunchtime on a Friday afternoon on the day before the 4th of July - the wait for food was 50 minutes & we weren't even the ones with the longest wait time. But I would say it's worth it if you can leave & come back or just call ahead an hour before you want the food. The staff is very welcoming, friendly & kind! They are quick to help answer any questions you might have & give you recommendations. There's plenty of seating but for the amount of people ordering food, you might have to stand. My second visit what a wonderful experience. I had sticky rice, Duck, veggies You got to go and try it. My daughter had a dish with fright chicken on the top of the rice and it was a stir fried rice underneath it and it was delicious as well. Just so you know...I HATE TOFU! I went to MiMi Terriyaki for the second time and as usual it was busy with in house and take out orders. Somehow we were erroneously served a Tofu plate which the owner immediately realized was wrong. She apologetically left it at the table as as a complimentary appetizer and had the kitchen start prepping the correct meal. I ignored the tofu for a few minutes but it looked so incredibly appetizing that I finally broke down and took a bite...OMG..IT WAS AMAZING! It was seasoned with some spicy sweet sauce and cooked crispy. I had to force myself to stop eating it so I would have room left for my spicy chicken terriyaki. Also, I am a big eater but the portions here are so generous that I have turned my plate into 3 meals. The cucumber salad is simple but I really like it. Really enjoyed the "You Do You" teriyaki plate where you can customize it with two entrées of your choice. I got the Garlic AF Chicken and the "Katsu Me If You Can." Both were delicious, but I especially loved the Garlic AF Chicken because it was so flavorful and incredibly moist. One order was massive -- definitely enough food for two people to share -- and for the portion size, I thought the price was very reasonable. The chicken was cooked perfectly, tender, and juicy, and I really enjoyed all the sauces they used. I also liked having the option of brown rice, white rice, or cabbage salad as the carb base. The garlic greens were fresh, perfectly cooked with a nice crunch, and had amazing garlic flavor. The mac salad was also well-coated and flavorful. The Garlic AF Chicken had a really good garlic flavor without being overpowering, and the Fry Me To The Moon chicken was crispy with the perfect sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. The Moo-Licious bowl was also delicious, it was short rib with teriyaki and spicy sauce that worked really well together. The textures and flavors across everything were honestly perfect. The sides were great too. The edamame salad tasted super fresh, the mac salad was creamy, and the dipping sauces tied everything together really well. Everyone working there was also very nice. The only negative thing I could say is the logistics. I didn't see their number on Yelp and couldn't find a menu anywhere, so I'm including it here. This place is pretty great we have been seeing it online decided to give it a go. When we got there people were leaving saying it's a 90 minute wait. We thought about leaving however decided to order anyway we figured by the time we figured out something else might as well waited the 90 minutes. We were greeted right away with a very friendly hello and welcoming. We were then warned about the wait. The space is very clean parking lot small but had no trouble finding a spot when we ordered and when we came back to pick up. I panicked order as a line started forming and ordered wrong I called later and asked to change it and while the lady who answered was super sweet about it and agreed to change my order I ended up with my original order. Something I appreciated was the options for sides and carbs as someone who has to be careful it's great having so many green options and especially with having Cabbage salad as a carb option. The hubs ordered the Katsu and I wanted the Garlic AF but ended up with sticky situation chicken ( totally my fault) what I appreciated was that the sauce didn't take over it wasn't to much and wasn't overly sweet while still having flavor to it. I could still taste the grilled chicken that was nice and tender as well as having that nice char flavor to it. The sauces are epic, I had the Garlic AF and the sticky situation. My kiddo had the chicken katsu and the fries. The green beans and cucumber salad tasted extremely fresh and delicious. EVERYTHING was delicious. The sauce that comes with the fries is absolutely unique and almost like a homemade sweet and spicy ish sauce. The fries were tasty as well. There is a large variety of juices/ water/ soda and some Japanese style sodas as well. The ambiance is inviting and clean, no complaints at all. Where do I start?? As soon as we came in, we were warmly greeted and promptly helped. We took the paper menus to our table to decide what to get, to which I did have some questions, however, I got every answer so kindly delivered and patiently! Very rare to find such a sweet person like the wonderful lady up front, unfortunately I did not get her name but she's seriously so kind and sweet. In case anyone had the same questions as me, the +1, +2, etc, just means additional $(s) added. Super understandable because different proteins take different time, effort ingredients, etc. Everything can be a bowl or a plate, but only the "You Do You" is plate only. The difference is you get to pick two sides for the plate. Now, onto the good stuff. My husband and I got, -Chicken Karrage -Garlic AF Bowl -Katsu Bowl + Plate * sides chosen: Garlic Stir Fried Beans, and cucumber salad -Gangnam Style Chicken Sandwich w/Fries The karrage was so crispy and perfectly seasoned and battered, and it comes on a bed of finely shredded cabbage which had a hint of apple? No idea but it was delicious. Now the star for me (and my husband), the garlic chicken teriyaki. Never have I ever had such wonderfully flavored and delicious teriyaki before. They were not playing when they said its the best. The sauce was perfectly balanced with garlic, sweetness, saltiness, and it was gone within minutes. So so so so so good and I'm never going anywhere else besides here for teriyaki. The rice absorbed all the leftover sauce and IDK what they put in that (seriously addictive) but I could've drank the sauce alone. It made the rice so delicious too and I swear it felt like I got reborn. The katsu is definitely my runner up and closeeeeee second. The ration of sauce to katsu to breading to meat, is absolute perfection. The sauce is so unique compared to other teriyaki joints, and tastes homemade but in a "Just the way mom makes it," or a "You can't beat mom's cooking.". I wish I had a bigger stomach to finish all the food because my goodness, they are so generous with the portions. As for the sides, the garlic beans and cucumber salad, the beans weren't my personal favorite but were cooked and seasoned well. The cucumber salad was light and very refreshing to eat alongside the rice teriyaki and katsu! In addition, we were so graciously given two sides to try, the edamame salad and mac salad. Personally, I've never been a fan of mac salad but I enjoyed it. Now, the edamame salad? Out of this world, I'd eat a whole bowl. It has corn, edamame, bell peppers? Ngl I ate it without looking cause it was so good. Refreshing and so so so tasty. Definitely try the edamame salad, made in house and you will never find another spot that makes it the way they do. Lastly, the Gangnam Chicken Sandwich. How is it that one place can make a bomb sandwich, bomb teriyaki, bomb literally everything they touch? The chicken was juicy, crispy, and cooked with excellence as the goal, and they went above and over that. It comes with the same finely shredded cabbage, a juicyyy tomato, pickles, swiss(?) cheese, all between two fluffy buns. The fries were so amazingly addictive, and dare I say the best?? Overall the place was nice and cozy, with a nice view of the sunset outside. Inside was clean and bright, and the decor is so cute as well. If you're debating on trying it out, the answer is yes!! A million times yes. The people are the best at making you feel welcomed, and like family. The hospitality is out of this world, this is now my husband and I's go-to spot!
