I read online and saw this bakery had a good Tres Leches cake and decided to try it out... The reviews did not disappoint! I called in to order a cake for 8 people and it came out to $45. It would totally feed way more than 8 people if cut into smaller pieces, rather than big squares. Typically I have a lot of left overs for cakes, but a lot of us ended getting seconds and finished it entirely! I love how simple and cute the decoration for the cake is with color sprinkles. Everyone who had the cake was extremely happy! It was very moist and sweet (but not too sweet!) Had a few people even ask me where I bought it from. My coworker brought some cookies to work to share. He saw them in the bakery window during his lunch break and said they looked too good to pass up. We got lots of gluten free treats and one was better than the next! We had bacon cheese rocks, a cheese roll, banana breads (plain, with chocolate chips, and with blueberries), chocolate chip cookies, and- my personal favorite- guava pockets. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a post-bottomless brunch treat. They had quite a selection of treats but I decided on the [quite large] s'mores cookie (chocolate cookie with marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate chips). Pretty small shop, but good for a quick stop in to grab and go! My only issue with this place is that I saw a few flies around...a bit hard to avoid when people are coming in and out, but I wish that the pastries and such were covered a bit better. The guys that worked there the day I went in were great. Very nice and fun to talk to! They were also good at triaging people that came through and gave pretty good recommendations. WOW. This place is the real deal. I can't believe it's taken me this year to finally try it. We got two decorated and frosted sugar cookies and a tres leches cake. The cookies were the best sugar cookies I've ever had. Sometimes decorated cookies don't taste good - NOT THE CASE; these were tremendous! The owner was there and told us all about the different cupcakes and options - he was so lovely and down to earth! He also recommended the tres leches cake - It was by far the best we've ever had! The great thing about working in Chelsea is all the yummy baked goodies around! Decided to check out BBB after work one day and wanted something yummy to nosh on. Decided not to get a scrumptious looking arepa and opted for two cupcakes ($3.75/ea)-- chocolate cupcake w/ chocolate frosting and a peanut butter one for The Husband. My chocolate cupcake was solid. Nothing spectacular but it hit the sweet spot. The taste kind of reminded me a bit of the BK Blackout from a famed UES bakery. Just a smidge. I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter...anymore. Something to do with gorging too much on it one day when I made a peanut butter sesame oil salad dressing that has since scarred me for life. I'll eat it in small quantities but it has now made it to the top of my Gag Reflex List (applesauce, really mushy eggplant, and White Russians are also on that list, for those that are curious). Anyhow I didn't like the PB topping but oh, something in their cupcake had me like whoa, maybe I don't have a PB aversion anymore. It was almost like a subtle peanut butter cornbread muffin. I've walked by here so many times and really liked the name of the place. I finally came in here and tried out a few things yesterday. I had the cheese bread and it reminded me cheese bread rolls from Calle Ocho. It's good but would have been nice if it was warmed up a bit. I also had the wheat bun. It reminded me of Hawaiian sweet bread, but only it was brown and made out of wheat. Interesting, but now I can say I got me some of that big booty - booyah! read more

Not only did the staff tell me that the cookie was nut free and I have a severe nut allergy, but when I tried to reach out to the manager, he has completely ignored me! I am a social worker and animal rescuer. I am one of the nicest people on the planet. All I wanted was to save lives by asking them to label which products have nuts in them. Nut allergies are common and deadly. I don't want to see anyone else get hurt. But they refuse to call me back or address my concerns. How hard is it to write "nuts" on a label?! I asked questions about what stuff was and they barely answered me. I asked them to cut something. They pointed me towards the plastic knives. I ordered a soup and no joke she didn't fill it up all the way- maybe 3/4 full. It seemed like the pot was empty but she didn't mention anything. The coconut brownie was delicious. Melted in your mouth. It had so many complex flavors for a brownie. The texture on top was a crunchy and soft toasted coconut with a gooey fudgy brownie below.
