A car ran a red light at Slaughter and Manchaca as I was turning right. The pick-up with trailer hitch in front of me slammed on their brakes to stop and I didn't. It was no match for my 2010 Toyota Corolla. I did't want to hassle with insurance, so I got several estimates. Just had my first experience with an Auto Body Shop. I DO NOT recommend Big Boys Collision Center, Inc. on Slaughter in South Austin. Told me the car would be done on Tuesday, then Thursday then Friday Morning. I arrived on Friday Morning only to find out the car is still not ready. They can't seem to do what they can do. Oh, as an ironic side note. Sign inside the lobby says "Free Wi-Fi". I ask the receptionist what the WiFI Password is, she replies "We don't have Wi-Fi". Welp! Get it together people! read more

This review was a long time in the making. I could not be happier with the team at Big Boys Collision Center. The team I worked with included Chuy and Oscar (the owner). Backstory: I got rear-ended by a person with no license or insurance and didn't have "uninsured motorist coverage" on my policy...which I recommend especially here in Austin (lots of people don't have coverage apparently). My insurance company originally said the damages would be around $1400 and I would have to pay a $500 deductible to REPAIR the damage to both my front and backend of my car. After visiting Big Boys, Chuy told me that if they repaired the damages, they couldn't insure it because it would likely not hold. They recommended replacing the front and back bumper along with some of the parts that go underneath. So Chuy worked with me and the insurance company to get them to agree it needed to be replaced and increase the coverage amount to $2200. There was a lot of back and forth with the company not wanting to pay but Big Boys stood by me the entire way through. In the end, the final quote came back and it was a bit higher than I expected. Oscar, the owner, called me directly to talk it over. I won't go into details but he reviewed my repair and decided he would help out on some of the cost. He didn't have to do this, but decided to in order to make a customer happy that was flustered by the whole experience of going back and forth with the insurance company and having to come out of pocket for an accident that was not my fault. I would highly recommend Big Boys to anyone who needs their vehicles repaired. These are honest people of character and I will definitely be visiting them again. read more

I had the worst morning, but Big Boy made my day! On my way to work, I was rear ended. It wasn't extremely terrible, but the other drive drove off regardless. There I was left with a bent in rear bumper and a trunk that would no longer close. Oscar was so quick to help me figure out what I should ask my insurance and said he would look at the car for me right then and there. He worked on my car for about 30 minutes. Fixed it! Then, he sent me on my way at no cost. I can't even describe what a huge blessing he was to me. Definitely going there for any car needs I have in the future. Highly recommend. So friendly. I know very little about cars so when I noticed the front hood on my car wouldn't close flush I instantly panicked. I went to Big Boys collision center and they instantly solved my problem. As it stood I just needed to let the hood drop from full height instead of trying to close it. I offered to pay and they took no money from me. I stopped in at Big Boys to see about having a fairing painted to match my motorcycle. I saw some good reviews here on Yelp, and these guys were very close to me so I thought I would check them out. When I got there, i was greeted by Chuy, the manager, and I told him what I was wanting to have done. He assured me that they would have no problem achieving exactly what I wanted. He even was nice enough to give me a tour of the facility, and introduce me to a few guys who were diligently working on all sorts of body and paint projects. Feeling confident about their abilities, we talked about cost. I feel the price was a little high, but the work they did was great, and Chuy guaranteed the work they do. I had to do a little leg work (had to call the dealer to get the paint codes) but it was as simple as a phone call to get the info. I dropped off my piece to be painted, and within a week, it was finished and ready to go. I was a little nervous about the color matching, Kawasaki Candy Lime Green, I had offered to lend them a fender off my bike to be sure it matched, but Chuy said it wasn't necessary. After getting it home and put it on the bike, it was a spot on match, same shade of green, same metallic flake! Looking at the bike, the fairing looks like it rolled out of the factory that way. Overall, I don't think I could be any happier with the way this project turned out, and I greatly thank Chuy and his team of hard workers at Big Boys. If I have something else that needs to be painted, they will be the first team on my list. read more

I was in a no win situation, with getting my truck to pass inspection, so I could get my renewal sticker for 2021. I went to the big name collision centers. All I heard were bids over a thousand dollars, and that wasn't in my budget. Someone told me about Big Boys Collision Center, on W Slaughter. I went over there to see if maybe they help me. They helped me find the part I needed for a 2006 Dodge Dakota, rear passenger tail light part. And then they did the work necessary to get the tail light housing into the space where it belongs. Before coming to Big Boys, I had a terrible deep dent where the tail light belonged. Well not only did they fix the tail light, they took the dent out, so I could open my tailgate now. They went above and beyond and did some extra work for me to be able to use my tailgate. I appreciate the work they did for me, they were able to get it done quickly . I highly recommend Big Boys Collision on Slaughter. I had bad damage from an accident on the passenger side back door and it was repaired perfectly. Plus they touched up all other minor dents and paint chipping on the rest of the car for no extra charge. I got 5 other estimates, but Big Boys was able to do it less expensively, on time and were very professional to deal with. Plus, they were able to repair the door shell without replacing the entire door with a used part. He was the only repair shop that suggested that, which is much more preferable since you never know what kind of accident a used door originally sustained. Thanks Oscar and team! read more

My wife and I both happened to back up with the bumper over a concrete tie and both of us pulled loose part of the front end, even the bumper itself on my car. We took both cars to the shop in the middle of the afternoon on 9/13/2016.. It was so crowded with cars we could barely get in the lot and the board was nearly full with orders. We were afraid the cars would be there for several days. Instead, to our great delight, Chuy assigned someone to get both of them fixed while we waited. Since no insurance was involved the jobs were much easier to do in terms of paperwork and we avoided replacing parts. The cost was very low and the cars were out in no time. We were both exceedingly pleased. Nothing could have improved! No wonder it was crowded there...these folks are good. read more

nice until you question something... Both owners got all in my face because I didn't decide to go them for my repairs. I told them I wanted an estimate which was supposed to be free but found another place I wanted my car repaired at so I went to pick up my car and they were acting all violent like they wanted to fight me... Seriously??? I will never go back not even for an estimate and I will let everyone know about my experience... After they were yelling at me saying I wasted their time they calmed down and try to retain my business... I was so done !!! Don't sign anything if you go there. When you get an estimate a signature is not required. They have you sign a blank folder and then they fill out the blanks later, turns out it was a work order not an estimate... seemed very trustworthy at first so I didn't question why signature was required since I wasn't told there was any fees associated with estimate. Turns out it was not an estimate they were securing a job without me even knowing how much it was gonna cost me. No work had been done yet so I was able to drive off and get my vehicle repaired elsewhere and saved $820 from what they were charging me. Very Unprofessional, very shady ways of conducting business... I would stay farrrrrr away from that place and rather go to a bigger company where I don't get attacked by the owner for wanting to take my business elsewhere and employees are held liable for trying to intimidate customers into giving them their business. will never again go to a mom and pop body shop read more
