I despise writing a poor review for a locally-owned business, but after months of being led-on and ignored, I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else's precious time. My husband was in a car wreck in October 2025. The person who rear-ended him has terrible insurance, so we decided to file a claim through our insurance, Allstate. Capital City Collision provided us a quote that our insurance did not agree with. An Allstate negotiator went back and forth with the shop. Part of the issue was my husband's truck had after-market parts that were damaged. Our Allstate negotiator, Elizabeth, called us to confirm that she was able to get funds approved by her manager and they reached an agreement on pricing with the shop. A check for $2,207.66 was sent to the shop to start ordering parts. According to Allstate, the shop cashed the check on January 20th. It is now March 19th and the shop still has yet to reach out. I have tried calling the shop multiple times in the last two months. Each time I call, they answer and hang-up immediately. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are busy. I tried calling the shop today, and again, same situation: answer, then hang up. I thought to myself, "hmm... maybe they really are ignoring our calls?" So I waited 15 minutes and called back with a blocked number. What do you know... Catherine decided to pick up and answer this time! She kept me on hold for 9 minutes before taking me off hold and hanging up on me immediately. I called back, and a man answered. He transferred me up to Catherine, who kept me on hold for 4 minutes this time and hung up immediately. While I was on hold the second time, I received a text message saying they wouldn't do business with us. They ignored my text, asking when they planned on returning the check they cashed for $2,207.66. My husband and I have been trying to get his truck fixed since October 2025. It is now March 2026. I understand that our insurance was being difficult to work with... we were annoyed by Allstate, too! That being said, Capital City Collision could have rejected our business months ago, instead of stringing us along. Rather than sending this text message 5 months ago when this all started, they chose to dodge our calls and waste our time. Unprofessional does not even begin to describe their behavior. They were avoidant, deceptive, thieving, and rude.

I consented to an oil change and asked the rep (nonmechanic) what the other terminology meant.... I left to get a second opinion. I AM SO HAPPY I WENT TO JUKES! They saved me probably $2,000, provided me education about the codes as how they related to my vehicle and provided future recommendations as how to keep my car in the best condition. After going to the dealership to get our family van checked out & being told what the issue was, I searched on Yelp & found Javier. He was quick to respond & provided an estimate based on what the dealership noted was the issue. Once he took it apart and found the exact issue, the estimate was adjusted as expected, but he explained exactly what it was and why it would be a little more than initially quoted, which was reasonable for replacing the head gaskets & repairing the cylinder heads. I really appreciate his communication throughout and not be surprised at the end when the job was done. Because it required taking apart part of the engine, he asked to take the van to his place instead of onsite, which made sense to avoid any potential fluid spills. He communicated with us along the way & we had our van back working at a fraction of the dealership quote. He has since done an additional repair to replace a motor mount which was also a fraction of what it would have cost at the dealership. That repair was done on location at our home. Growing up with a really good dealership mechanic in the family and doing small repairs of my own, I know a good and honest mechanic when I see one. He is good, does clean work, is responsive, and is affordable.

We agreed on a time for me to bring the vehicle to him, but when I arrived, he told me he had a family emergency. I drove back home, and we agreed that he could pick up my car from my house instead. Javier never responded that day, and I followed up the next day asking if everything was okay. I received no response. A few days later, I called him, but my call was sent to voicemail. I eventually took my vehicle to another mechanic, who informed me that the oil leak appeared to be related to the front crank seal, camshaft seal, and oil pump cover area, which he said should have been addressed when the timing belt was previously replaced. Javier was the person who performed that timing belt service. I was disappointed by the lack of communication afterward, especially because I had trusted Javier with my vehicle for nearly two years.
