This place is kind of run down, with big tears in most of the booth upholstery. But some might say it has character. Food is hit and miss. Cheeseburger was just okay, a little better than McDonald's. Patty didn't taste fresh. But my hubby is obsessed with their fresh-cut fries - the old-fashioned, somewhat greasy kind - floppy but tasty. Service was excellent on our visit. I didn't take any pictures of my meal bc I ordered it to go but I had the chicken fried steak and it was wonderful! Ordered okra and mashed potato's. All was really good! It was all really nice and hot when I picked it up and when I got it home, which is rare. This little gem is hidden away but deserves so much recognition. It reminds me of the little diner my grandfather and I went to in his small town. I had the country fried steak with pinto beans, green beans, salad and diner roll. The food was cooked perfect and was not too hot when served. This little café is one of my favorite places to eat out for a casual meal. The western burger is so delicious, try it with their homemade potato chips! If you are ordering a breakfast that does not include bacon it will not be considered as a choice for 1 of the 2 sides for any other menu item although it is listed on the menu under sides. I enjoy the veggie omelette and then purchase the bacon separately along with my two sides. Also-Regular big breakfast with three pieces of bacon home fries and scrambled eggs $6.99 (photo). They charge extra for coffee. Cook knows how to make crispy bacon and the home fries have onions and peppers. They also offer a breakfast special for $4.99 which includes bacon, eggs and pancakes. This is our go to breakfast spot. It isnt fancy, but it is good food. It is hit and miss with the service sometimes but they work their tails off. They are just understaffed like most places. You can get a good cup of coffee and a good breakfast. I always get either the meat lover breakfast or meat lover omelet. My daughter loves the biscuits and gravy. read more

We searched all over the city for the best breakfast burritos and homemade salsa. 2 years ago we came across Big Buffalo Grill tucked away just off the intersection of 23rd and Council. They are the textbook definition of hometown diner's. The food is quite amazing and I finally got off of the burrito kick and began trying other items on the menu. There is nothing that I wouldn't try there. The Buffalo Burgers are amazing and the breakfast menu is just the same overall. They even spend the week of Thanksgiving offering an incredible Turkey Dinner. I have to fall back onto the breakfast burrito and homemade salsa again! We were very skeptical when my in-laws who live in the area wanted to take us to the Big Buffalo Grill for dinner but I am SO glad we went! I had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans(not canned!), and a salad. The chicken fried steak was hand breaded and so good. The green beans have bits of bacon and tons of flavor. My kids had pancakes and they are delicious too! My husband and father in law had salads and they were very big and looked so yummy and filling. My mother in law had catfish and chose French fries as one of her sides and they were fresh cut home made fries. Restaurant is nice and clean and had great service. Nice little spot! read more

Close to my work so I eat breakfast here several times a week and the food is always great! I absolutely love the Spanish omelette! My husband gets the sausage and cheese omelette. Its a lot of food! Just left this place 1.5 hrs ago and I am still seething mad. Ordered an omelet and waited almost 30 minutes for it to arrive at the table. When it did arrive, it looked like someone had thrown up on my plate. The waitress laughed and asked me if I wanted her to take it back and "pretty it up". Out of three meal options... (Meatloaf, pork chops, and Tilapia)... Not because they are busy, but because they are lazy. Ordered mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and the waitress caught that they put white gravy on the potatoes, before they were even delivered to the table. The cook just put brown gravy over the white gravy... I guess they figured I wouldn't notice... Very unprofessional. The food was bland. Fairs have better food. New higher pricing, smaller portions, fake hashbrowns, add water, still hard, greasey spoon, centered around old people with no taste buds, food comes out fast, but like i said, not desireable. Overall i went cause closest breakfast to my place, could have went to grocery store across the street, bought 3 lbs bacon, 5 dozen eggs, 15 lb bag of potatoes, and ate great home cooked food for days on end. I have eaten from here twice in the past month because it's close to my job. Both times I called in my lunch order and then picked it up, and both times the food was hot and ready to go when I arrived. The restaurant has a diner-like atmosphere, is clean an the waitress is knowledgeable and friendly. My menu choice for both orders has been an onion burger with fries combo, what they call the Western burger. The first time I ordered from here everything was fantastic! The fries are the old-fashioned kind; long thick cut fries that are deep fried and delicious, and a very generous portion to boot. The burger was perfectly cooked with sliced onions cooked on the meat. The second time I ordered the same thing but the onions were thicker and not cooked enough for my liking. The price is fair at about $10 for the burger, fries and a drink. On the south side of the building are the words "Mexican American" leading one to think that they serve Mexican food, though there were few Mexican food choices on the menu. There were no enchiladas, quesadillas or anything like that. There were numerous grammatical errors and word misspellings on the menu. It was quite sloppily put together, obviously by someone for whom English is not their native language. If the owners are going to the expense of printing new menus, it makes sense to be sure about how their food offerings are represented. There are pictures on the menu though, which adds some visual appeal, until you start to read the words. It seems that the owners make no effort at all to promote their restaurant. As far as I've been able to determine, the owners make no attempt whatsoever to engage with the public on any of the websites like Yelp, Zomato or any others that I go to when looking for reviews. They don't have a Facebook or Twitter account that I can find either. This is a shame because they could have much more business if they took the time to reach out to their potential customers. For me, there is more to a dining experience than just the food. The burger and fries combo was good and the prices are fair, but everything else about Big Buffalo diner is very lackluster. I'll probably eat here again but it's not a place that I would make a special effort to go to. read more
