Great little bagel place in Lafayette. The prices are very reasonable, and they have a good selection of sandwiches. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty simple- you can pick egg, cheese or bacon/sausage/ham. I love their extensive drink selection- I found coconut water here! Good quick service as well. read more

Went to Big Daddy Bagels in Lafayette on Saturday and it was FanTasTic! The man with the beard and knit cap made a great bagel sandwich! I went back today, Monday, and did not have the same experience. The bagels themselves are great; they'd be better if it was cut evenly (like the guy did on Saturday) The all female staff spoke to each other and to the counter tops, never to the people who were waiting. I was asked what cheese I wanted, but when she spoke she was looking at the counter. "Who? Me?" She gave me a look. But of course, how could I have been so stupid that I didn't know she was speaking to me as she was looking at the counter which I could not see. The young man who ordered 2 bagels had the exact same experience. What ticked me off the most was how the head lady with the very short brown hair treated the 50+ gray haired man and his wife. She would set wrapped bagels on the counter and shout out what they were as she was turning her back so being out in the dining area you couldn't understand her. The man picked up the wrong 2 bagels and was scolded by the lady. As the man brought back the bagels she threw them straight in the trash. She shook her head at him and you could easily hear her say under her breath, "What an idiot." The old man called her on it and I thought it was great! He said, "Hey, that wasn't my fault." Lady, "I didn't say it was". Old man, "I don't appreciate the attitude". Lady shook her head. After 3 people behind me had left with their food, I stood up and asked the young lady with the long dark blond hair if mine was ready yet. I got a very sharp answer, "I'm wrapping it". ---excuse me! When I got home to eat it, I discovered how poorly the bagel had been cut making it an unpleasant $7.00 sandwich. I wish I had not tipped. I will go back but only on Saturdays. I got the impression that the women working there were in their own domain and we, the paying customers, were their folly. read more

Bagels and nothing but bagels. You'll get your bang for your buck no matter if you stop here for a little lox and cream cheese or a lunchtime bagel sandwich. Egg sandwiches are tasty with cheese, and the cream cheese with my lox was laid on so think that I had to scrape some off (my own preference). Thick fresh slices of lox, topped with capers and tomato. Mmm mmm mmm. Forget about the McD's next door. Order your bagel and grab one of the small cafe tables outside if you're lucky. read more

I'm pretty picky about bagels and I was not impressed. The bagels were just OK, and the cream cheese tasted like they had just scooped a hunk out of the giant philly cheese tub. The main reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the atmosphere and service. All of the staff treated me like they had been trained by Dick Cheney's charm school and there are all kinds of chairs in the way of where you order. My experiences at Big Daddy's in Lafayette have consistently been good! We generally will stop on a Saturday morning on the way to an outing. My teenage son orders a breakfast bagel sandwich (egg and cheese). My regular order is an Italiano bagel with cream cheese. i have never been served anything but the freshest bagel, usually still warm! (at 7:30 or 8:00 am). The staff is friendly, a little laid back, but always gets my order right. The coffee is high quality, but about one out of three times the supply runs out. read more

They do have a large variety of spreads and bagels, just too bad that they quantity does not equal quality. While the bagel may have been okay if it were toasted properly, it just wasn't. It went through the toaster and was even a little black on top but it was barely lukewarm when I got it. I think if they slow down their toaster (and check that attitude guy who gave my husband grief about double-checking that there was no egg on his) then I might give this place a second try. Until then I will take the advice of another reviewer and just get mine at the grocery store and toast it (thoroughly!) at home. I don't even write Yelp reviews, but dang y'all. The blonde lady behind the counter today was SO surly. It made for a pretty unpleasant experience. It really made us wonder what happened to her this morning that would cause such a displeased demeanor in a customer service setting. She just looked like she was experiencing some kind of horrible smell the entire time. My bagel sandwich cost eight dollars and five cents; I paid with a $10 and pondered her reasoning as she counted out my dollar and 95 cents in change with a jar full of pennies sitting right in front of her. The bagel turned out pretty bland - she asked if I wanted hot sauce, which I did, yet she never actually put it on there. The radio was blasting some Pink song about having a sh*t day (uncensored) and it was mildly offensive yet incredibly fitting for the experience. So my one star is for the appropriately inappropriate song selection. Never had a bad bagel experience before today, but this was so offputting that I felt compelled to take time out of my day to write about it. Hopefully I'll look back on this and laugh. Thoughts and prayers going out to anyone trying to purchase food from this establishment today. Next time I'll just go to Moe's. read more

Just avoid the place. While their bagels are good, they are nothing spectacular. I was a regular there for a while but lately their customer service has become lacking. Also their veg cream cheese is the worst. Lazy employees cant even properly dice an onion. The other day I stopped in to by two bagels (under 2.00) and the kid at the register explained the 3.00 minimum limit for credit card transactions....which has never happened before. Its sad when a shop turns away customers because they signed a crummy merchant card contract....why should that affect the customers at all? I'll just tear up my frequent customer card and go down the street. BTW, I tried to contact via email about my complaint and got no response. So don't even bother with that. read more

Every time I'm in Colorado, I come to this bagel place for breakfast and the staff is always very friendly, and the bagels are always great!

We have been regulars here for a while, but will probably seek out another bagel shop. They've messed up our orders three or four times in the past two months (wrong bagel, wrong spread, missing ingredients) and we don't find out until we get home. Customer service has definitely diminished along with quality. Bummer! read more

This place was absolutely disgusting. I decided to go with the salt bagel and lox spread. First of all, the bagel did not taste fresh at all, but more importantly, the lox in the spread was gray and off-yellow in color... WHAT THE HECK?! I felt nauseous just from the few bites I took. Not only was the woman at the register incredibly rude, but it was kind of ridiculous the way they priced their bagels. They advertise their bagels to be ninety five cents, however, if you want cream cheese on your bagel, (which I assume most people do), they will charge you an extra $1.80 just for a little smear.
