Literally my addiction right now I eat this dine in and dine out either way the food is always amazing! I usually get a pound of shrimp with 1/4 pound of sausage house style mild.. I have had their cajun fries and lemon pepper i prefer cajun and white rice on the side.. the shrimps are big and the flavoring is always on point the only downside I wish they made it a little more saucy... the prices are comparable to other spots in la and fresno so no complaint there... The food is on the spicy side and very messy. Not sure I like the heads on the shrimp since it means they haven't been cleaned , however the crab and scallops help. Went to a place in San Pedro (Long Beach) that is very similar. Out comes the food in a plastic bag which is opened on your table into one big messy pile, but it is good. I adore this restaurant. It is such a fun and unique experience, and the food is delicious. At first it is hard to judge what exactly to put into your "boil", but the owner/wait staff are always super helpful in judging how much you need to feed your crew. We always leave absolutely stuffed, but there are never any leftovers because it is so so good. We always get shrimp, sausage, potato and corn, and sometimes throw in a few mussels or clams. We get the "no spice" sauce which still has some zip to it. read more

I am well vested in crab boils and bag eats so I knew what to expect coming to the big hot one. Luckily I was in good company, a group of rookies who had never really eaten with their hands so the entertainment levels were through the roof. After guiding them through the menu and all attention while ordering, the waiter caught onto the freshmen at the ready. He accommodated accordingly and took the reigns as lead guide. It was nice until he questioned me, a lowly whiteboy, on my choice of ordering the highest level of heat the bag could handle, put my ego off a little but I recovered with the bros at my back. A good twenty minute wait and many laughs later the bags arrived in a deep silver pale. One by one the gents at the tables faces lit up like the second independence day of the month. Classic. We all dug right in and it was nostalgic in a pre-pubescent type of way, a couple of good friends finally getting the reward of no rules at the table.... Wanted something new and different since it was my birthday. We had driven by Big Hot Crab (Cajun Seafood) a number of times so I decided to check it out. I was not disappointed! We had such a great time -- the staff was so friendly and Alan was especially helpful to us since it was our first time there. I think I'm giving it 5 stars because I was surprised how good it was. Yes, the restaurant itself isn't very nice, but the food was very good. I've never had seafood that is dumped out on the table. The sauce was so tasty. I felt like we ordered wrong and I will go back and do it right. We will skip the appetizer next time and order more fish and maybe the sausage. The server was hard to understand but very sweet to us. Hopefully next time they aren't out of bread. It would have been fantastic to dip the bread in the sauce. read more

Very disappointed. After waiting a few minutes for them to arrange tables we were finally sat down and then literally forgotten. After about 15-20 minutes I got up and had to find them so that they could take our drink and food order. We got there at 4:00 and at 5:19 we were fed up with the wait so we asked a lady and let her know how long we were waiting. I'm assuming she went and told the owner and then he comes out to our table and start arguing about the wait time and told us we were lying!!!! RIDICULOUS. We then showed him proof of a text that was sent out to a family member letting them know that we had arrived. How unprofessional of owner/management. No apology from him. Not to mention that we had to keep finding staff for refills. All of that hassle for mediocre food. Never returning. read more

We had the house style no spice 1# shrimp, 1# crawfish, sausage, and corn With a side of bread and french fries. It was so good and very messy. It was weird that the shrimp had heads on them but it was kinda fun eating with your hands. The garlic butter had such a great taste.
