I had an excellent first experience here. Normally I go to the Wheelworks location in Antioch, but they were fully booked and unable to see me when I had a low tire pressure situation. So I located the Big O location nearby and decided to give them a try. Had great customer service from the time I walked in the door. Big O was fully staffed and able to fit me in immediately. Fortunately, the issue was a screw, and the tech was able to repair at a very reasonable cost. Then a few days later, I got a phone message from Ron, thanking me for my business. Wow. This is one of the most honest businesses I've ever come across. I bought brand new tires from a different tire shop a few months back, had a blow out, went over to Big-O and they helped me with ALL of my options. We even called the other tire shop to see if there was a warranty on my brown out tire, which I didn't have. The shop had to special order my tire and still managed to get the job done SAME DAY!! I know they couldn't make promises, but I couldn't more surprised with how well they took care of me in a stressful situation. I love this Big O. I always purchase my tires here. And by always, I am talking the last 15 years or more. They have e actually pulled up the prices of a club store and theirs were the same. I like that they are right down the street. I talk to the same people every visit, and they have great customer service. I recently started getting my oil changes there, and even without an appointment they are fast. They have Wi-Fi so I just chill on my Ipad. We had been going to Big-O Tires for over 40 years at their location on East 18th Street. We had always been treated fairly. And then the day after Thanksgiving happened. I went in for a flat repair. I know that sometimes flat tires can not be repaired and must be replaced. That day, I waited for over an hour and a half only to hear they couldn't fix it. They tried to sell me a new tire, but I opted for a used one. I was then told it would be another 40 minutes! It wasn't. It was another hour. I had sat in the drafty waiting area for over two and a half hours by the time I was done. AND I AM DONE. I will try somewhere else next time. Big-O is NOT the business it used to be. Big-O? You need to watch out for this guys. They are smart, but not too smart. Usually guys know their cars very well and you'll know when someone is trying to sell you something you don't need. Well I went for an oil change and came out horrified of all the things my car needed according to the mechanics. More over, they give me this bs lie about my oil cup needing to be replaced do to the previous mechanic throwing away the center piece that hold the paper oil filter (new system) I knew it was there before but I allowed them to continue with their bs. They charged me for a new one. Never showed me the receipt from antioch toyota. So I called them a couple of days later and requested all the docs for my attorney. They choose to give me my money back. Don't go there. Smiling faces may not mean they are looking for your best interest. read more

Well, once again I took my vehicle here and once again had the best customer service and experience. Stopped by on Friday almost closing and had two tires ordered by Andy and he said he would call the minute they arrived Saturday between 10:30 and 11:30. He called me a few minutes to 11, right on time as he said. Andy saw me pull up and took my keys and brought it around back and I was out of there within a half hour! Don't come to this place!!!!!!!!!!!! I came for an oil change and they ended up recommending services for my car that cost over 2000 dollars!!! My brakes was fine before I took it in too! A couple days after their services, my brakes started making weird noises and would not stop. it got worse today. I had my car checked consistently back in Santa Barbara and the shop there never said anything was wrong with my car. Bear in mind, I have went to that shop many times before coming here. it is quite odd that all of a sudden my car needs hellla repairs. I came off ignorant about cars and I believe they took advantage of that. I am a very unhappy customer!!!! read more

Brought my son's car in for an oil change. Good service, however, had to come back due to an oil leak. Robert LeDonne changed the gasket but when I got the car home, discovered the leak was still occurring. Brought the car back again and Robert was very apologetic. Although he had the proper oil plug and gasket, it appears the gasket was inferior. Robert corrected the problem, drained the oil and refilled with fresh oil. Ran the car in the shop to be sure the problem was gone. Gave me a coupon for 50% off my next oil change. Although this was frustrating, Robert continued to be very pleasant and professional. Started using this location about a year ago and the service has been great. I have several vehicles that u get serviced here. Their tire prices are very competetive and their alignments are superb (i have been to may alignment shops, these guys always keep my vehicle and tires pointed in the right direction). I like the fact they put a reminder sticker on the windshield, not only for oil changes, but for tire rotations and alignments. They deserve "no stars", but I was forced to give them one. This review is a summary from at least four others who had their vehicle serviced at this location. Be very cautious when having them work on your vehicle, big or small. They will deny any wrong doing (misc damage, lost parts, etc) once you drive off their property. You basically have to have pictures before taking your vehicle to them, to prove what it looked like before they got their hands on it. Bottom line: stay away. read more

I didnt have an appointment so I showed up 15 minutes prior to them opening hoping I could get an alignment done on my truck. Ron welcomed me in with a good morning and immediately began to assist me. Before 8:00 Rpn had took my truck into the shop and turned it over to their tech. I had just lifted my truck and had certain alignment numbers I wanted. Ron and their alignment tech got it right on the money and gave me exactly what I asked for! I would have given them 0 stars but since you have to put a star I did one. 2 weeks ago I brought in my car for them to do a tire rotation and balance. and when I took my car off of the lot my car has been acting up ever since, when I would drive around residential areas my car would automatically shut off. I went to an AutoZone in the neighborhood and come to find out Big O Tires disconnected a wire , unplugged a sensor, and unplugged a hose. All I wanted was a tire rotation and balance, why are you under my hood? read more

They ruined the wheels on my customers truck. The clear powder coat was flaking on his rims so I had Big O remove the tires and then reinstall them while we had them re- powder coated. When they remounted the tires they wouldn't hold a bead since they had bent the wheels. The owner of Big O said the powder coating process ruined the heat treat on the aluminum wheel and "turned them soft". Ive been in business building custom cars for 12 years and have powder coated hundreds of wheels. This is the first time Ive ever heard anyone try and claim that. Long story short they told me tough luck, and I bought my customer a new set of $2200 wheels. I had a engineer who works at Lawrence Livermore Lab do a brinell hardness test on the old wheels and the new wheels. Turns out the old ( freshly powder coated ruined ) wheels were harder than the new ones. A simple Google search on tempering aluminum shows you have to get the wheel 350 degrees warmer than the powder coating process to effect temper. Of coarse the owner at Big O didnt want to hear it. I chalked it up as a write off and Im sure to spread the good word to everyone- every chance I get. You can see the pry marks where they tried to take the tire off the wrong side of the rims (reverse mound dually wheels 19.5s) I wish I could post pics here. Anyway im sure they are great for the every day commuter but buyer beware. The owner of the truck has 4 teen age boys and used to buy his tires from these guys. So he didnt just loose repeat business from a shop that brought him work almost weekly, but a complete family as well. read more

I recently had taken my 10 year old MBZ to the local Firestone (Brentwood) store to have the wheels aligned, they told me that they couldn't get it do it because it needed a "kit" to allow adjusting. I then took my the MBZ to Obsidian Motors (Oakley) and had a nice conversation with Ian, he said if that was true I should take it to the Big O Tires on 18th, as that is the shop he uses for his customers. My car was pulling heavy to the left and it was getting old having to constantly applying pressure to the right to hold it straight (besides it couldn't be good for the car). I made an appointment and left the car there for the "kit" and alignment, I was quoted a price of about $300.00. About three hours later I received a call from the shop saying that the car was ready and only needed an alignment and nothing more. I was mildly surprised to say the least. I explained that the car had been pulling to the left and the technician told me that he had aligned the wheels and rotated the tires and the problem was resolved. Instead of $300.00 it cost me $99.00 for the services rendered. I like the honesty, integrity and quality of service in a prompt and efficient manner that they provided. Got a bad flat tire on 4th of July and had a 50 mile commute to work waiting for me in the morning. With having to be at work by 10 a.m. and Big O opening at 8 with an hour commute in between, I was not optimistic. However got there a few minutes before opening and explained I was in a hurry. One of the best autocare experiences I've ever had. My tire blew out this morning, I popped the spare on and took my car here. I park in the back, and already a mechanic is walking my way when I step out. He cracks a joke, and points me to the office. I walk in the office, and immediately I'm getting taken care of. They ask for some info, I go back to my car to get it, and what do I find? A mechanic is already doing my tire pressure, making my other three good tires ready to go. My car is still in the parking lot. Haven't agreed to anything yet. So I head back in, buy a new tire, and these guys pop it on and have my car ready to go in like 15 minutes.
