The guy at the front desk was very nice. However, after paying over $1k for 4 new tires, I nearly drove off with only 2! Big screw up!! Luckily, I checked for the old ones (I had requested) in the bed of my truck. Upon finding none, I glanced down noticing the same well worn old tires. I waited another hour to have them changed. And STILL had to ask twice more for my old tires. It was a very busy day for them. I hope this is an uncommon mistake for them. They were very apologetic & nice. But what if I hadn't noticed?? Been here too many times. Basically: - looong wait times and always longer than they tell you. An appointment means absolutely nothing! I asked if appointments meant anything and the guy just shrugged his shoulders. - twice i had to come back to get things redone that were done incorrectly the first time and had to wait hours! - my wife came in about a leak in a tire and even though three employees were just standing around and no one else was there two hours before closing they told her they couldn't do it - no offer to check to make sure it was safe to drive on or even to fill up the low tire. - horrible customer service - prices way over what they tell you and try to sell you on everything. - lied to about work needed (found out after second opinion just down the road) - STAY AWAY!!! read more

Went in with a noticeable flat tire asked the guy to check it out, he had me wait about 30 minutes went outside looked at the tire and then asked if my dashboard light was on I replied "no" then he continued to say "if the light on the dashboard isn't on then there is nothing to worry about your tire is fine" asked me to go inside the store so he could ring me up. Very poor customer service and dishonest staff. I was quoted 1 hour for an alignment. I was assured at 1.5 hours that my truck was on the rack. I patiently waited to 2.5 hours before I went outside and saw my truck parked in back still not finished. Unfortunately this isn't the first time something like that has happened at the store. Unfortunately we don't have anywhere else to go in our small town. I won't be back. It's faster for me to drive 50 miles out of the way to get my tire work done. read more

Big O was recommended to me by some coworkers when I asked them where I should get an oil change, as I'm new in town and don't know where to go. I was told it was going to be 2-3 hours because there were a few cars ahead of mine. Fast forward 4 hours of waiting and I'm told it's going to be about another hour. On top of all of this, I was told it was going to be around $90, FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I paid at most $40 back in Michigan. Don't waste your time or money here. Went yesterday to have a blown tire changed. They had the car all day for 1 tire and could not do that. They got the tire on the rim and balanced but could not mount it. Asked my very pregnant wife to drive home on the spare and come back in the morning, when it was less busy to mount the 1 tire. Drove back this morning and was told it would be 3 hours before they could do it. This is the second time in 6 months that I have had to come here and they messed the first visit up as well. This place is a $hit show filled with incompetence and lacking managerial structure. Thanks for wasting my time. I went here on a Saturday to get my car serviced and asked them to correct my tire pressure because it was low, add wiper fluid because I was out, and to change my oil. After I left I realized that my oil change warning had not been reset, they didn't add air to my tires, and they didn't add windshield wiper fluid. I called them to see if they had even preformed my oil change and received the run around. Dennis told me that I would have to come back Monday because they didn't have the right tool to "reset it." I figured he was talking about the oil indicator and I told him that was wrong because I've learned how to reset this on you tube. He scoffed and was SUPER condescending and said that if I had a $3000 tool then I should do it myself. Then he said a tool to reset my tire pressure was also necessary and that they had filled my wiper fluid because it was on the receipt. Both these indicators turn off when you fill them... So I drove back there, Dennis made the tech Ever come out so he could super shamelessly pass the buck and disappear and the tech said "I changed the oil but nothing else. This isn't my job, I'm not the oil guy I'm just helping them out" Turns out they didn't add wiper fluid because they were out (Dennis preceded to scorn them for not telling him that he needed to order more) but after that they did add something to my wiper fluid because the indicator turned off, if they were out, what was it??? Then they were putting air in my tires and I was watching my dashboard to monitor it and the guy was filling it and filling it even though I was telling him to stop because my car said it should be at 36 and he made it all the way to 61!?!?! He said his machine was broken so he filled the rest of my tires using my dash as the indicator instead. As I sat there I went on you tube to learn how to reset my oil change warning and did that. After that, all the warnings turned off. The thing is, there was a super condescending attitude about it, like I was a silly girl that couldn't possibly know anything about cars, let alone the one I've been driving for years. Also, no one ever apologized or took responsibility even when I was right about EVERYTHING. If you mess up, the absolute least you can do is be apologetic about it. Nope. The most ridiculous oil change experience by far. If you happen to own a German car, or really any car, don't ever take it here. P.S. There were other details that made this experience the absolute worst but my review includes the worst offenses. Peter, Dave, and Brian are good guys at the front desk, but I seriously question the competency of some of the guys down in the shop. The tire techs have demonstrated zero attention to detail in my experiences and, in watching the shop flow, they try bang out jobs as fast as they can with a high level of carelessness. It's blatantly sloppy work. It's almost like they don't even know what they're doing wrong; that behavior comes from the top, which is scary given these shop guys are being entrusted with vehicle safety. There just doesn't seem to be any communication between the front desk and the shop. I'm curious if this review will get taken down or blocked.. I post it as often as I need to. I've lived in the Vail Valley for 9 years and have been taking two vehicles to this shop. Regarding a Chrsyler 300M I had, I was charged for outer tie-rod end replacements that I later determined to have never occurred. I took it in for an alignment within warranty service period and was told I needed all new tie rod ends again and would be charged for it. Fortunately I kept all past service invoices, because it took me producing those documents before they'd make it right, which they did. But, it should never come to that. Next, I've been taking a 3/4 ton Silverado in there for a couple years. I had brand new wheels installed last year; one of the rear wheels broke off !!while driving!! due to improper installation of the wheels where spacer applications were previously implemented at a specialized truck shop in Denver. The spacers worked with the older wheels I had, but the tire techs demonstrated a high level of incompetence when installing the new wheels. It took 3.5 weeks, insurance involvement, and a highly detailed level of communication and documented evidence before Big-O replaced the wheels. They did this at no cost, but again, their market is with wheels and tires.. so this should have never happened. Most recently, and in the first time since the last wheel issue, I returned for a balance, rotation, and alignment. I gave specific instructions to apply 70psi to the rears, and 55psi to the fronts, and I made it a point to emphasized on reseting of my tire pressure monitor sensors (TPMS) so the proper locations of the sensors after rotating the tires was realized by the truck computer. They did none of this and I had to go back in after the fact. Moreover, it's worth noting this particular issue has been the case EVERY SINGLE TIME I've had a rotating, and I always have to go back in. The tech who came out to reset seemed to not know the truck needed be put into learn mode with the key fob, because he rounded to each tire, plugged his diagnostic instrument into the communication port of the truck, then told me I was good to go. But I noted the TPMS on the dash showed all (--) for tire pressures. It took me putting the truck into learn mode and telling the tech to round to each tire again; only then were we able to observe the truck indicate newly learned sensor locations. Mind you, the pressures I observed and verified with my pressure gauge were: front - 58/60 ; rear - 76/80. This didn't match my original request. Shortly after leaving the shop, I came to learn hardware that holds my wheel center caps together and on the wheels had been loosened up and was coming off two of the wheels. So now I have to go buy new bolts to replace missing hardware. Along with that, I noted the bolt holes in the wheels into which the center caps are anchored have been cross threaded on two of the four wheels. As a reminder, my wheels have never been touched or removed since original replacement/installation. Happy to say I've taken photos of every issue thus far and everything has been getting posted to another online forum for widespread communication. I'm just saddened by the fact this shop is one of very few in this Valley. All these issues have surmounted to the point I'm taking my business elsewhere. I'll be asking for a refund on the alignment package I bought, and won't be thinking twice about the free rotation/balancing I'm allowed as a result of purchasing the tire/wheel package there. It would honestly take a world of change in the culture of how this shop operates for me to reconsider my view of this specific shop and ever go back. read more

Arrived at shop at 7:30am and was the 4th person in line when they opened at 8am. Needed an oil change, plug a tire and balance tires, again. This is the 3rd time in 4 months that tires have needed to be rebalanced (they're on a '18 Frontier with 34,000mi). Tires were purchased at Big O and have less than 10,000 miles on them. At 10:30 I walked over to see what was going on with my truck and discovered it parked off to the side of the building and no one working on it. Mount and balance, oil change and plug a tire took them 3 hours to do. If you like waiting (I was there for a total of 3 hrs, 45 minutes) or can leave your vehicle, this is the place for you. read more

Went in this morning (got there at 6:40am) to take advantage of their sale, which begins today. Bought new snow tires. They open at 7am, and I was on my way by 8am. Peter was very informative on the phone yesterday, giving me the "out the door" price, with no gimmicks. Love that. Peter also offered free rotation of the tires, as part of the purchase, and suggested when to return to have this done. Also great to know! I would've given them 5 stars, but for the second time, they neglected to put my summer tires back in my car, after installing my new winter tires. I was asked when I went in if I wanted the tires back and I told them I did. I didn't realize they weren't there until I was on my way to work, and had to turn around and go back. Just be sure to point out that you want your tires back!! Good all-round experience..! read more

I come here to get an oil change and tire rotation. They did not even rotate the tires because I told them I had a slow leak in the passenger side front tire and it needed to be looked at. I pick up the car and the tire looked the same and was not rotated. I come back two weeks later to tell them I need the tire rotation done and because there was minimal wear on the outer portion of the tire (due to being low from the slow leak they didn't fix) the manager told me "your tire is bald and we do not rotate bald tires ". Well ok, my tire is not bald and it is low due to you not fixing it/rotating it from last time. They ended up attempting to fix the slow leak, only to have it continue within another couple of weeks. I regret going back, but my starter died and I was tired of knocking on it and needing someone else to start it up, so I took it back to them for a new starter. They said the part was in and it would take an hour or so. My girlfriend waited for two hours as they were supposed to fix it, but somehow they were still waiting on the part? She went back later in the day and they attempted to charge an extra $75 for labor when I was quoted a different price. Then they changed it back to the price once she mentioned what was quoted. She was highly upset with the service they gave her and she mentioned one of the coworkers was hungover sleeping at the counter. We will never come back. read more

Would give a 0 star review if I could. Brought my Toyota in this morning for a tire pressure check (my TPMS light was on). Strict instructions to only check the pressure and inflate if needed. Should have been a 5 minute job. 65 minutes later all of my warning lights are on and they can't reset the computer. I have to take it to the Toyota dealership to get it reset. When I complained to Elliot the "customer service" representative that we discussed only tire pressure check he said "that's what gas stations are for". No explanation. No apology. What an ordeal. Will never go to another Big O. STAY AWAY from this shop for sure. read more

I do not recommend getting any sort of work done at this location. I took my car in for an oil change and a break check. They told me the rear breaks need to be replaced so I spent $500 to replace them. Then I drove the car and there was no difference in the breaks so I took it back the next day and they told us we need to replace the front brakes as well. They called us and told us the car was done so we went to pick it up and they told us it would be another hour. There are many other auto shops in the valley with similar pricing and much better service. I will never bring my car there again. read more

I was told I needed 4 new tires when taking my tire in for a flat repair. I had 11,000 miles on the 60,000 mile tires. I was told "you can call Michelin and they might give you money off." I told them I needed all 4 tires back to make a claim to my tire protection for 100% reimbursement for flat tire, purchased 4 new tires, paid $1000 and left. Brought tires to my storage and only had 3 given back. The flat tire I needed for the claim was "already thrown out and they couldn't get it back". Even though I made it VERY CLEAR I needed that tire back. Called Michelin, they had a terrible time getting ahold of associates for tire assessment for warranty purposes: so much so that their manager had to get someone on the phone- associates kept hanging up on them. They were told there was no tire assessment done on the tires, nothing in the system, and that I had to go get the tires out of storage. Brought the tires back for assessment and was told they were basically BRAND NEW and I didn't need new tires after all. Big o then lied to Michelin saying they had my flat tire so they would reimburse me..80%. Mind you, had they not thrown the tire out I would have had 100% reimbursement. Instead of making it right and offering to pay for their wrong and get me the new tire on their behalf, they lied to Michelin and got me 80% and I still had to pay 20%. The refunded me the 4 tires and made almost still charged me for the labor and disposal of my flat, all of which never should have happened, until I demanded full reimbursement. I shoulda been able to walk outta there paying $0 on behalf of my tire protection warranty, and because of their wrongful doing I had to pay $45. Not terrible, but it's the principle of everything being done wrong and then ME having to figure it all out and sort through the lies and deceit. All in all the hassle of having to get 4 new tires, only to have them taken back off and my original tires put back on, the flat tire being thrown out against my wishes (oh yeah they charged me for the disposal too), the lying to Michelin, the wrongful protocol of not assessing the tire, making me to get it out of storage, and not to mention the scammers in customer service, I can only draw one conclusion: this place is full of scammers, liars, frauds, incompetent management and leadership, and I will NEVER do business with them again, and will always urge others to go elsewhere as well. Extremely disappointed, not to mention Joel specifically told me to come back on Saturday to get things settled so him and the manager would be there, and to come early Saturday to ensure they would be there- he gave me his word. Big surprise he wasn't there, neither was the manager. Again, liars. read more

Doesn't do good work. Had some work done with my front end. Did terrible work lasted about a month had the same problem. They replaced parts that didn't need to be replaced. Took it to another Big O and they wouldn't fix the problem. Called the store left messages Peter never called me back. Called corporate office no help. They won't stand behind their guarantee. Went to a place in my home town the trek bar wasn't tightened down properly and the bushing was walloed out. Very dangerous this store risked my life and many others on their poor work. read more

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Went in to get a dead battery replaced and had terrible, disinterested service. In addition, for anyone concerned about COVID, DO NOT GO TO BIG O TIRES IN AVON!! Not a single employee was wearing a mask (nor were most of the customers). Employees do nothing to protect you when they enter your vehicle to drive it to the bay for service. Most places are using masks, gloves and plastic steering wheel covers; this Big O used nothing! As an owner of two older vehicles, I have found a need of auto service more often than I may like. I have found the service provided by Big O tires to be both prompt and fairly priced. While the entire staff is helpful, it is the manager and assistant manager (Peter and Eric) that lead by example by being conscientious, mindful and good listeners that truly try get to a quick resolution of whatever automotive problem you may have. They work on a daily first come first serve basis, so you don't have to wait for a week like so many other auto service centers. Give them a try, you will be glad you did. read more

Don't get your car repaired here! I had a $30 heater hose leak and they ordered the part. After the part came, they could not find it. After 8 days, they finally found the part and got the part installed. Multiple calls were put on hold for 20+ minutes. Sell your car before you take it here for repair. I was in a terrible situation being lied to by another tire shop. I was told I needed 4 brand new tires and I was left without a car to drive. I called Big O' Tires and they went and picked my car up from the other shop, fixed my 1 tire that needed a repair and did it very quickly, AND said they didn't want me to pay them anything to make up for all of the hassle and frustration the other tire shop caused me!
